He wasn't sure if the world was working in his favor, making Alexa his roommate again, or if the world was working against him. Because the tension between them the moment they first got into the villa together was awful, so awful that Christian was quick to drop his shit and leave because he couldn't handle being near her; it was too hard after everything that had been said between them. Her telling him that she was done and him getting drunk and telling her that he loved her—it was a lot, and he just felt overwhelmed. He ended up finding a friend and found comfort talking about everything he was feeling when it came to Alexa, and when she urged him to go talk to Alexa, he decided that maybe it was a good idea. It was clear they had some things that needed to be said face-to-face, and nothing was ever going to be good between them if they didn't talk things out. Which was what Christian wanted; he wanted things to be good between them. He wanted for Alexa to only want him and for there to be no one else involved in their relationship. He didn't want to sleep around anymore, and he didn't want her to sleep around either. Christian just wanted Alexa; when he told her he loved and missed her, he meant it. It didn't matter that it took him getting drunk to say it; it was a word that he meant, and if he had to say it again while he was sober for her to believe it, he would, but first they needed to talk and get things out in the open. They needed to talk like adults. So after Christian hugged his friend tight and thanked her, he headed back to the villa and prayed that Alexa was there.
When he walked into the villa, he didn't see her right away, and he was a little disappointed, worried that maybe she went out for the night with someone else. But then he spotted her outside by the private pool, looking at the water. Christian watched her for a moment, and sometimes he was blown away by how beautiful Alexa was and how lucky he was that she wanted him, that she gave him her attention. Even when the attention was fleeting, or they were fighting, he still felt lucky that she wanted him. Though, right now he didn't feel so lucky because he didn't think she wanted him, since she told him she was done with him. But he didn't want them to be done; he wanted them to finally be together and put aside all this petty bullshit that they always do. Finally, after watching her for what felt like too long, Christian cleared his throat as he walked outside and joined her. "Alexa, can we talk?" He said her name and asked the question softly, making sure she knew he wasn't there to fight with her, that there was no attitude in his tone, and that he was just here to talk with her. And hopefully after they talked, she would see that he was coming there with his heart on his sleeve, and he hoped he wasn't making a big mistake by doing that. But deep down he didn't feel like he was. [ @alexasdemi ]
