Alright so I really really hate doing these posts, especially given how close to the holidays it is, but I got royally screwed over for the umpteenth time since August. TL;DR I really need donations because I’m broke and got screwed over for a work injury by both my doctor and worker’s comp, my goal is $1060 so bills will be taken care of.
To make a very long story short, I hurt my wrist last year at work but didn’t have issues with it until January, and didn’t properly file worker’s comp until the end of August. I’ve had nothing but issues dealing with the insurance company handling my case, and I finally got my diagnosis as being De Quervain Tenosynovitis. Basically, the tendon sheath that connects your muscle to your inner wrist gets super inflamed, and if I had let it get any worse, it had the potential to straight up burst.
It was determined that it was work related, and unfortunately, I’m only going to be paid 2/3s of what I was making last year. I was only working about 25 hours a pay period, at $10/hour. Since July, I have been making roughly $530 a paycheck, because I have been working 55 hours a pay period at $11 an hour. So you can bet that only getting 2/3s of $250 is going to severely hurt me, bill-wise.
On top of that, I was informed by my doctor that she cannot write me an official letter for the month I had no choice to take off because insurance was screwing around for so long, thus making me forfeit the lost wages entirely. I am unable to have worker’s comp actually compensate me for this recently lost month of work because my doctor refuses to write me a letter stating that, as per her own recommendation, I take 4 weeks off from work.
I really need help here, I HATE having to ask for donations but I’m really struggling because my bank account is at a flat $0, and it’s unclear when the meager amount I’ll get from worker’s comp will actually start coming in. I have bills that I still need to pay, and I really need to make up that lost wage.
