town hall. open starter.
The mornings were always the busiest at the mayor’s office. Thanos always knew exactly how he wished to run the day and yet his people seemed to let his ideas fall through the cracks. Now, Ophelia was cleaning up the other’s messes, hoping beyond hope that the mayor would not stop in her office before she had finished typing up all the documents that were missing.
“How can someone forget to type up the mayor’s speech?” she asked, squinting at the notebook beside her. The heavy scrawl looked more like scratch marks than letters. Finally she figured out the next word. Her eyes lit up as she flew through the next sentence and then was stuck at the first word of the next. “Oh fuck me,” she whispered, almost panicked that Thanos would come knocking on her door.
And then there was a slight rap. Lia jumped almost out of her skin but finally took a breath when she saw it wasn’t her purple-tie wearing boss. “Oh thank goodness it’s you,” she said, running a hand through her hair. “If you were Mayor Thanos, I thought I might shit myself.”Â
