Deep dream Video by Johan Nordberg.
New Calm Inceptionistic impressionism Video by Johan Nordberg
Programmer and artist John Nordberg makes Deep Dream imagery into beautiful, 3D-esque loops for ingMob’s "Kundaleen" and "New Calm" music videos.
Super excited to show you two new music videos by Johan Nordberg. Premiered today on Creator’s Project.
First take.
This metamorphosis facilitated by Madrona Labs: Soundplane & Aalto.
My first song on the Soundplane from Madrona Labs. Off the grid again.
off the grid / on a grid a musical exploration featuring my new monome app meadowmachine

monome is more than a company, it is a community. founded on the principles of open-source engineering and sustainable small-scale manufacturing, monome has seeded an all-star cast of artists & programmers. i made this mix to celebrate the wonderful people i've met through monome, and to showcase the amazing talent in this collaborative community. this is a small sampling of my favorite monome music, including live sets, remixes, and unreleased tracks.
Self-Titled Magazine just premiered a mix I made, exclusively featuring monomists. Lot's of friends on here, live sets from events I've organized, and some rare & unheard tunes.
Check out my short essay for Impose Magazine's "Friends with Benefits" series, On Resonance. I get metaphysical and a little goofy with the concept of resonance...it was fun to do some non-technical writing for a change!
Chris Shier (of GIFmelter fame) made this incredible interactive visualization for my song 'i/o'. Please take a second to check it out, and make sure to play around - the visuals respond to the position and clicks of your mouse. Chris takes us through a few unique and stunning visualizations as the song progresses - I think it is a perfect fit! If you are curious for more, he has a ton of amazing work on his site.
The rare monome is perhaps the most organic electronic instrument out there, and one that has built an ardent community of users in the decade since its invention.
WIRED just wrote a feature on myself & the monome. I'm very honored to have the chance to play ambassador to such a wonderful community. The page also includes a short video I made to explain the monome and the DSP phenomenon known as 'aliasing', as well as a stream and free download of my track 'i/o'. Enjoy!
At long last, Marrow has landed!
Our music industry analysts here at ingMob LLC have predicted that Marrow is going to "blow up" very shortly. As such, we highly recommend buying the album early and often - as proof that you were in fact "with it" way before it became popular. It probably won't stay cool for very long. Who knows, your mother might even find out about it.

It's not that Raymond Weitekamp isn't making sense, it's just that the things he's talking about right now - polymers and the various wavelengths of the light spectrum and such - are impenetrable topics to someone with only a base level understanding of chemistry.
- Katie Bain
I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Katie Bain at LA Weekly to talk science, music & life. We had a great chat; I think it's a very nice piece. Perhaps you'll agree...
As ingMob, Weitekamp's mixing skills extend far beyond Bunsen burners and Erlenmeyer flasks to the meticulous formulas from his beat laboratory. His new single "mmm" is a glimpse into the kaleidoscopic blend of bleeps, warbling keys, and echoing vocals that will appear on his debut Marrow, due February 10 on his own Rawwerks imprint. The track may beget comparisons to Animal Collective's woozy day-dreams, but his release is a complex composition that's unique to him alone; absolutely no samples were used in the making of "mmm." Why use someone else's instruments when you can make your own?
-Paula Mejia (Spin Magazine)
Spin was kind enough to premiere 'mmm' in advance of next week's release.
I'm very excited to announce my debut performance as ingMob, at the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock on February 21st. I've enlisted my good friends Anenon, Chakita and Jazner to play as well. Hope to see you there!

Who but an organic chemist to call his song 'Human Beans'. Such is Raymond Weitekamp, a CalTech PhD candidate by day and tinkerer building his own gear by night.
Today, The Fader premiered the first single from my debut album 'Marrow', out Feb 10th. Check out the writeup on The Fader site!
Many more exciting things soon!
"ingMob uses DIY instruments to make the most scientifically advanced music you've ever heard."
Just in case you missed it last year, here's an interview I did with Motherboard, where we discussed mostly music and science. I spoke a bit about my process of making Marrow, and revealed some details about upcoming multimedia projects surrounding the release. Please stay tuned...
As an introduction to this blog for all ings ingMob, I thought it might be nice to post a link to my pre-ingMob work.
