“Bendy!” The cartoon wolf ran towards the demon, pausing momentarily to grab at his sides. When his hands came away ink was stained on them. “Bendy!”

“The ink machine’s acting up! I...” Boris paused to stare at his sides which droplets of ink fell from. “I need a refill and I don’t know where the creator is! Could you... could you help me with it?”

while boris is technically the villain of the bendy cartoons, he was a bumbling and ineffectual one to contrast bendy’s perky and trickster nature. when the two were brought to life and were free to make their own decisions regarding the nature of their relationship, they were, of course, no longer bound to ‘cartoony hero goes on japes with cartoony villain’.

i suppose i need to. actually explain my interpretation of boris because i have a barebones about as of right now. this will be subject to change as more chapters of the game come out!

boris and bendy were once alike physically. both were alive but needed ink to stay that way. if they went long periods of time without an ink refill they would start to fall apart and basically melt. this is why neither of them escaped out into the real world, they needed the ink machine to stay alive.

but in the end the two were living a half life. if the creator’s beloved creations were to be truly alive, they needed to not be dependent on the ink machine. and so, boris was the one the creator tested on, to see how the cartoons could live without needing ink refills. to give the maniac some credit, it did work somewhat. boris is not quite so dependent on the ink machine, but he’s not exactly living either.

he’s basically become an ink zombie. he has difficulty speaking most of the time, and those rare moments are when he doesn’t have ink oozing out of his mouth. if his words aren’t choppy because he’s gurgling on the ink, then his words get dragged out and he speaks slowly. and of course, he tends to have murderous tendencies. what ink creature doesn’t?

He wasn’t supposed to be getting up. He was supposed to be dead, it was supposed to have failed, he was supposed to still be strapped to that operating table.

But hey, life didn’t go as planned sometimes. He would know that very well...

Boris, at first, was only able to mindlessly shuffle to the door after he managed to free himself from the operating table. The wolf paused to see that ink was flowing through him again, and was flowing out of him through his still opened stomach.

And then he thought of the creator. The creator was the reason he was ‘killed’, wasn’t he?

“Cre.... Creeeeaaaa...” Boris left behind droplets of ink as he walked down the hallway, his head snapping from side unnaturally. “Creeeaaaa... tooooor... whe...re?”
