I've got a proto-type of our graphic novel based on Ambrose Beirce's short story "Occurence at Owl Creek." It looms awesome already just as a simple xerox copy. Can't wait to see what it looks like after it's printed on the risograph.

and i’m carrying this rage like a blood-filled egg and there’s a thin line between the inside and the outside a thin line between thought and action and that line is simply made up of blood and muscle and bone and as each t-cell disappears from my body it’s replaced by ten pounds of pressure ten pounds of rage and i focus that rage into nonviolent resistance but that focus is starting to slip my hands are beginning to move independently and the egg is starting to crack and america seems to accept murder as self-defense against those who would murder you and it’s been murder on a daily basis for ten count them ten long years and we’re expected to pay taxes to support this public and social murder and we’re expected to quietly and politely make house in this windstorm of murder but i say there’s certain politicians that better get more complex security alarms and there’s religious leaders and health care officials that had better get bigger fucking dogs and higher fucking fences and queer bashers better start doing their work from inside howitzer tanks because the thin line between the inside and the outside is beginning to erode and at the moment i’m a three hundred seventy foot tall eleven hundred thousand pound man inside this six foot frame and all i can feel is the pressure all i can feel is the pressure and the need for a release

It’s World AIDS Day. Artist David Wajnarowicz, author of the graphic memoir 7 Miles a Second, died of AIDS in 1992 at the age of 37. May his memory and work always be for a blessing.

Symbiosis is an 18+ Venom fanzine focused on the relationship between Venom and Eddie. The zine will feature both non-explicit and explicit content exploring the relationship between host and symbiote in both the Sony and 616 universes. I think the thing you are missing in this post which is the most important are the 14th - 16th century Dutch pilgrim badges seen here:
Who cares about anything else in history when you can excavate in the Netherlands and actually find these, apparently there have been hundreds if not thousands brought up from rivers throughout the country.
The Dutch are great, say I as a totally non-biased person.

I love drawings in medieval manuscripts. The dutch, particularly, love “underground” content. For extra credit, draw some of these medeival cartoons in your comp book. Wocka! Wocka! Fozzie Bear
I'm thinking about the cultural work of underground comix. Some of the comix we're reading for class tomorrow are just weird (what's up with checkered pants?!?!) And some are honest and make possible lives often located at the margins and unspeakable. Underground comix have been a place to draw oneself into being. Last year my good friend KC (Chef Boyardee) published this amazing collection of his comics about transitioning. I was lucky to be along for the ride, acting as a witness to his becoming both a man and an artist. His friendship and work continues to ground me, and he always knows just what to say.
