So the latest trend in candy appears like it's going to be more "chews" variants for some reason
Just saw today in the seasonal section they're making swedish fish and sour patch kid chews
Which, if it's a chew and not fish shaped, is it just swedish chews? Can it really be considered a fish if the shape is not in fact fish? Does the branding even have much to say anymore? Would swedish fish chews even work on a texture level? The whole appeal of swedish fish is it's a thin layer of gummy and then a layer of waxy, having too much of either feels like an imbalance but if it's not trying to be fish how does swedish fish fish chew?
Guys I think I know what zooble is now
I think so far the one lore bit I cannot unread is the implications in a dialogue option in Fallout 2 that there's no cats in the wasteland because they were eaten as a food source. Like- it's not even just because it's the idea of eating cats that has me mulling this over it's like... imagine how different the mutated biosphere in fallout 3 would be if mutated felines were a thing I haven't played vegas, 4, or 76 yet (playing them in order) but apparently they make their first actual appearence in fallout 4 despite having some mentions in previous games??? Did these lil guys just rise from the dead unscathed? Will my little meow meow outlive me?
---SLIGHT SPOILERS FOR FALLOUT---
So there ARE cats in the other games. It is a possibility that they just ate all the cats in the west coast? There are cats in 76 which is the earliest Fallout game. Also! Felines and Canines were almost untouched by radiation! So it's a little boring on the lore part but nice to know they are okay!!
As I said earlier it seems their first appearence was in fallout 4 for some reason which I'm glad they decided to keep the cats moving forward :D but its nice to know they just aren't as touched by radiation. I appreciate how in fallout 3 you can get a perk that means wild animals won't attack you, not applying to naturally hostile ones like the fire ants and rad-scorpions. In Wolfenstein dogs are a main enemy so atp if I play a bethesda game I just assume I'll have to attack a dog at some point You do bring up a good point with the fact that it's the west coast specifically, fallout 1 and 2 taking place in california while fallout 3 is more east coast. Still playing through 3 and have yet to hear any mentions of cats but there's interesting implications bug wise with the ant experiments I've been playing them in order and I have high hopes for new vegas but I'm a little afraid for 76 as I was there for the dreaded launch day catastrophe lmao Although so far fallout 1 is my first fave, fallout 3 being second. Fallout 2 I just kinda couldn't get as into as I did the first and that's probably because it was developed and launched within months of the first ones release
F76 had an AWFUL launch but over the years they have fixed it up into a really nice and fun experience! Some of the kindest players and online community ive ever come across. I hope you have a good time when you make your way around to it :3
I also felt this was a good time to bring up Mr Pebbles. Who was, as you can see, the first cat in space. A national hero. Thank you, Mr Pebbles
bethesda give me a Mr pebbles poster and my life is yours

The way I square retcons like this is that the Wasteland is a much smaller world. The people on the West Coast in Fallout 1 and 2 may very well have assumed cats were extinct everywhere - they had no way of knowing what was going on in the Commonwealth Wasteland or in Appalachia, where cats do appear. I sometimes treat it like an unreliable narrator rather than biblical absolutes intended to reflect the entire Wasteland, you know?
The other way I deal with these retcons is understanding that Interplay never intended Fallout to be an ongoing franchise 25-30 years in the future. Their lore and design documents were limited to the games they planned to make. (Not to diminish or disrespect Interplay, of course). There's a lot of ways Bethesda Fallouts have strayed from the light, but for minor details (like flora and fauna) I'm ok with it. Funnily enough, there are no cats in FO3, but I'll chalk that one up to them not planning to implement them.
I agree that minor retcons like this aren't too major they're just fun to think of and consider with all the major changes fallout went though; I'd never consider one piece of dialogue 100 percent as Fallout's characters have been consistently unreliable which is what I loved the most about fallout 1
Which, to be fair I don't think Bethesda even knew if there was a demand for cats or even considered it mandatory which makes sense as Fallout's focus hasn't been primarily on domestic animals specifically

Profile Study - Sergent John Mullins (Castle)
Program; CSP
Time; an hour
I dunno why I waited so long to start drawing stuff from castle but now it's not leaving me. Here's what the guy looks like in the series
Been sitting on making an oc for this series Castle by Johansson
Which is weird because this little stick figure series back in the day was what really made me decide to pursue art and animation more seriously.
Anyways, here's Seraphne; One of the soldiers just trying to get by like everyone else in this twisted world. I tried to blend stick figure elements with my otherwise more detailed artstyle I'm undecided if I want her to live post "reprecussions" but I'm definitely sure I want her brother dead as part of the first research group Romanov was late to attend.
Edit: almost forgot the FUCKING timelapse
Excuse half of it being flipped, I have my tablet on an easle and flip it accordingly if I have a vertical page so I can get the most out of my screen
"In the style of" assignment
For this assignment we had to do a painting in the style of and I chose Dali, the idea wasn't for direct replication but having some elements and techniques
These figures are creatures I like to draw often, that I made up called the happy folk
