good reads: Bad Karma by Paul Wilson . It was while browsing Amazon for surfing books, that I noticed Bad Karma: The True Story of a Mexico Trip from Hell by Paul Wilson, so decided to give it a go, and it did not disappoint. . Bad Karma is a true story, set in 1978, when the 21 year old Paul and his two travelling companions (local icons) set off, in an old VW bus, from Sam Diego to the coastal jungles of southern Mexico, on a two month surfari. . Robbery (to fund the trip), breakdowns, perfect surf, river crossings gone wrong and beers with Joaquin Guzman (who later became known as El Chapo), make this a gripping surfing adventure, and so well written I felt like I was there for the ride. .
