This isn’t going to make sense because the rules didn’t make sense to anyone including players announcers and coaches BUT they basically removed the Egypt games from consideration and went only for H2H points and H2H GD for the games played between Malawi/Nigeria/Zambia. Malawi and Nigeria came out on top.

Essentially this is the table they were looking at to determine the winners between the three. Came down to goals scored, Malawi putting those 3 up against Nigeria made the difference.

Not ACL, but Sonnett tore her patellar tendon. This is the same injury Mal had, but Mal’s recovery time was complicated by a freak infection and severe complications. Recovery time for most is 6-12 months (ik, big window). For sports specifically, closer to the 9-12 month window, but can be before. She’s on SEI, but beyond this season it’s really a shot in the dark for her timeline.
