apostature liked this post for a short starter
An evening in the gardens of Skyhold was almost always relaxing, even if the lines on the face of the inquisitor never seemed to ease there. It was a pleasant, silent place, perfect for thought. She dare hope she wasn’t interrupting such deep thoughts when she spoke to the Arcane adviser to empress Celene.
“Good Evening, Morrigan.”
REBLOG if you don’t mind other muses falling in love with your muse, even when it is unrequited.
{I’m going to work on a general starter when I get back later, but if any of you lovely people would like a short one just for you, go ahead and please like this!}
Song of the Ancients / Hollow Dreams | NieR Gestalt & Replicant
The Wastes // Open
There was something beautiful about night in the Hissing Wastes. Maybe it was the way the light of the moon reflected on the sand dunes seemed to make the world glow, or maybe it was the allure of the far off torches, glittering in the wind like stars. What ever it was, it had fully and totally captured the heart of the young mage rebel Saga Trevelyan.
It was almost enough to make her forget that she was an apostate hopelessly lost in a massive desert. Almost. The tired, and dehydrated woman plopped herself down on the first rock she had seen in days, and spoke to the wind. “I’m going to die here.” she ran her fingers through her sand caked hair “And I’m never even going to make it to the conclave.”
She laughed, It was her stupid idea to leave to group of rebel mages she had been traveling with to look for more survivor for the initial days of the rebellion, she didn’t think she would be chased by a group of templars this far away from them.
“They probably already think I’m dead.” she spoke once more, looking up at the clear sky and smiling. If she was to die here, at least it truly was beautiful. She scanned the horizon one last time, looking for the torch lights she saw when she first entered the wastes, and to her surprise. They where there.
She booked it towards them, nearly loosing her footing on the dunes. With each slippery step, her heart rose, she could see a camp of sorts getting closer and closer. Hope had entered the stone heart.
She reached the camp in about an hour of running, but didn’t get to introduce herself. She saw faces, people, unfamiliar and potentially hostile before falling flat on her face, exhausted and unconscious. She was almost afraid to wake up.
Hello again // Aislin and Saga
Aislin was tired. Even in the Circle, she’d never devoted much attention to healing magic. And yet, out here in the middle of nowhere, that was what was needed most. So she worked hard, and slowly, she was getting good at it. But even with the occasional hit of lyrium, her abilities had their limits. Seeing she was near the end of them, Mother Giselle had sent her into Redcliffe for more supplies for the non-magic healers. It was just Aislin’s misfortune though, to enter the village just moments before one of those damned rifts opened up, blocking the village off from the outside world.
“I’m needed out there!” she cried desperately, but the guards stood in her way, resolute. With no other option, she returned to the market. She did, after all, have a shopping list. It was the least she could do until the way back was cleared.
It felt like she’d only been in Redcliffe for a handful of hours when there was a commotion at the gate. Had something gotten in? Aislin glanced in the gate’s direction, and had just resolved to go further into town, had even turned to do so when a loud, clear voice called her name.
Her mouth dropped open as she turned back. “Saga?” she murmured. Sure enough, striding towards her was her cousin, her fellow mage, her friend. Lines of stress in her forehead eased as she smiled openly and moved forward to meet Saga.
“I heard you were at the Temple of Sacred Ashes,” she said breathlessly. “I didn’t know anyone survived that.”
Saga attempted to keep her serious and slow gate, but at the sight of her cousin and friend she just couldn’t. She all out sprinted to her dear friend, stopping just short of hugging the woman. “ I.. I was there.” she finally managed to stutter out, after the initial shock had faded slightly. She held up her marked hand, slightly, removed the glove from it, and thrust it forward. “and all I got was this little thing.”
Her three companions stopped short, watching the herald speak with the face she knew to be familiar. The crowd seemed to circle around the two, half wondering if Andraste herself had sent the herald to seal the rift for Redcliffe, the other half wondering if the new magisters knew she was here.
“How have you been? I couldn’t find you after the initial fighting in Ostwick.” she could remember the day clearly, the day Ostwick circle had its rebellion. She couldn’t remember the exact event, the exact infraction,that sparked the fighting, but she could remember what happened afterwards. Arcane fire flying freely in self defense, innocents cut down on both sides. It was bloody, but progress was rarely made otherwise.

Hello again // Aislin and Saga
aislintrevelyan
Redcliffe wasn’t exactly big, and now with the war, it wasn’t exactly populous either. It was important, none the less, as a haven for rebel mages. Mages the so called “Herald” had been meaning to join the group prior to the conclave, but as fate would have it, that was not to happen.
Adding them to the fledgling inquisitions power base seemed a fine compromise between fate and the revolutionary firebrand burning in the heard of the Trevelyan. No mater how much the commander grumbled about it.
She looked over to her companions, then forward, as she stepped through the towns gates. The sky was a dark, and heavy grey, and looked as if it might open up at any second, it fit her mood just fine. She couldn’t help but have a sinking feeling in her gut the moment she walked into town. That was, until she gave the crowd in and around the market stalls a good look through.
A familiar face, but it couldn’t be her, she must have died back in Ostwick. Why would she even be here? Questions of a similar line went whizzing through the Heralds head and she pushed her way through the crowd. “Aislin Trevelyan!” she spoke in a somewhat commanding voice, meaning to be heard over the market murmur. “Aislin!”

❛I am sure that our parting words were not positive, Inquisitor. I turned my back on you and the well— I am positive we were to never cross paths again.❜
"It's interesting how things like that work out, huh?" Trevelyan crossed her arms over her chest, and leaned against the stone wall behind her, In truth, she thought the same, never had she thought to see the ancient elf again. "How are you this day?"
{Hey guys, I don't remember if I ever offically posted this, but I'm pretty much limited to weekends for activity. I can't really promise more than that. I hope you all have a great day!}
Color meme -- Yellow.
Sisters hair, long and free, running behind her as she rode on her horse of the same hue. Mother's favorite flowers. Daffodils. The warmth of the sun, the freedom of open farm land before the harvest. Like happiness given form, joy given a shade, it fills the world with light and colors what we value

"That’s quite a number." He said, interested. "Must’ve kept your parents busy."
It would be interesting to see more Trevelyans here. Had to be quite the family to make an Inquisitor out of it. A good Inquisitor, too. People were different, but you could always somehow tell their roots.
"You ever miss them?" He asked, curious.
Did she miss them? That was good question... Certainly she missed Vigdus and Eirikr, they wrote her often in the tower, but Ari and father... no. no she didn't miss them. "That's a bit complicated, friend" she said finally, after what must have seemed like a solid minute and a half of intense thought
"My younger siblings yes," she continued slowly. "Erik and Vig always use to write me such kind letters when I was in the Ostwick circle. They felt like my one connection outside the walls of my prison." she sighed, remembering a pair of small faces covered in dirt with big smiles spread across them. "This one time..." she started with a smile, than suddenly stopped. "You know what.never mind on that."
" Ari, Father and many of my other relatives, I would be fine with never seeing them again." This time, in her minds eye, two angry faces appeared, stern, and hateful. "Father was a staunch supporter of the Chantry and the Templars. I'm almost sure Eirk would have ennd up one if he didn't join up with the Wardens."
