Probably… but, in my opinion, (staff are you listening?) they should give the blogger originating the post the option to freeze/lock the caption or not. That would give all the creators on tumblr the opportunity to make sure their posts are attached to a caption that properly credits the work. People that reblog the post can add to it but could not take off the credit/source info, reposting would increase (for those opposed to captions and those could be reported) but most people don’t wanna make that effort.
PS with the “new” system you can delete all captions, or copy paste comments and edit them…
