Never understood how she could mean so little to so many. Why does she mean everything to me?
Pins & Needles - Billy Talent (via post-lyrics)

rcttenheart:
‘‘ i’m interesting to you? oh god, just don’t STALK me alright? i already had a stalker, it’s not fun.’‘ she watches him in silence when he brings up the death of his parents and a frown spreads across her pale features once more. ‘‘ i’m sorry about your parents. i know what that feels like.’‘ while she may be a sociopath, she does love the two people who gave life to her still ; and she misses them dearly. ‘‘ i can’t imagine what that must be like. how old are you? don’t you have any other family? older siblings or something?’‘
mandy places the tiny bottle with the pills back into her drawer and eventually rises to her feet, shrugging at his next words. ‘‘ chill, i’m not gonna call them. just don’t TOUCH my stuff, alright?’‘
mandy is quite confident that if someone was to try something, it will be her; so tate seems harmless to say the least. ‘‘ i still have to get some boxes from the car and move them to the basement. you can help me if you wanna.’‘
Smirking he shook his head,”Hey come on if I wanted to stalk you don’t you think I would have stayed hidden a bit longer?” Hearing the apology he quickly shook his head unable to speak without emotion at this point,” No, don’t be. I wasn’t close to my family, I prefer them not being around.” The hatred in his voice was evident no matter how much he wanted to keep it out of play. Brushing tangled locks from his visage his gaze fell a bit before he shrugged off the feeling of dread in his stomach,
”I had two siblings, they are both dead now as well. Though i’m not too sure how much they ever lived anyway.”
Wanting desperately to get off the subject he clung to her next request,” Sure, i’ll help you with whatever you like- though won’t your aunt freak if she sees me?” Having gotten so caught up in the conversation he’d forgotten why he was talking to this girl in the first place. Along with her aunt they were two new inhabitants to the well known murder house. “I can ditch if she will, don’t wanna make a bad first impression right?” A little late for that don’t you think? What if the others...what if she...if they speak to her, won’t I lose this contact too? Dread set in again a bit of a worrisome expression setting in over his pale features.

Scarlett looked over at Tate, not realizing that she’d said anything aloud. Though she didn’t care anymore. Was she supposed to remind Tate about Giselle and that… messy situation? She didn’t know. She was paranoid that the reminder would cause him to break and kick her out. The brunette just hid her face in her palms while nodding. A part of her wanted to cry, but she knew that that would mean she was weak. And she couldn’t have that. Not anymore. She took care of herself now and could be independent with no breakdowns.
“Yeah,” she finally answered, her voice timid and small. She began to miss the days when she didn’t dream. Maybe having a stranger’s arm wrapped around her was therapeutic in some way. Somehow. “It was just… Giselle,” she spoke bluntly, not about to go into detail about what the full dream was. She didn’t want to upset her only friend. That was the last thing she needed in her life at the moment.
“I didn’t mean to interrupt you. I’m sorry,” she apologized, laying back down and curling back into her ball. The young woman had a feeling that she wouldn’t be able to sleep. But perhaps she could try, or at least pretend. Then, before she knew it, she felt the tears fall. She was thankful that she was facing away from Tate so he didn’t have to see her broken. Not now of all times.
Keeping still his gaze stayed on her trying to keep a calm and possibly, hopefully soothing composure. It was obvious enough she was stressing herself out more than needed be, so he didn’t want to make any moves that might make the situation harder for her to handle. He really didn’t even need to ask, it was pretty obvious when someone woke up from a dream whether they were fully rested or disturbed by their own thoughts. Hearing the other females name off Scarlet’s lips brought the memory back to him as he leaned back a bit in his chair recalling it.
His emotional attachments were more connected to Scarlet back then, of course that was thrown off wack when she’d gotten intimate with that other slut Giselle. Right now that didn’t matter anymore, though the scene must have been hard for someone who wasn’t use to blood. It was probably something traumatic to someone normal. If normal even cut it anymore. He let out a heavy sigh just watching Scarlet for a moment before he sat up again regaining his attentive composure,” You aren’t bothering me, nor are you really interrupting anything. I’ve come to a bit of a stopping point anyway.” Watching the woman curl up again he rubbed frigid digits against the back of his neck trying to think of what to do to take her mind off the horrors that kept her mind in turmoil.
“ Maybe you shouldn’t try going back to sleep right now, if the memories are fresh you will probably just fall right back into the same dreams.” Standing from his position he stretched out listening to his vertebra crack as he did. “ Come on, maybe we could watch something.” He didn’t usually even use his tv, if he wasn’t working he went out to bars or kept to himself at home messing with his work files. Though it felt appropriate at the time,” Maybe there is a good movie on or something.”
Helping her out of bed so she couldn’t deny the offer he glanced down before leading her back to the living room,” Try not to dwell on the past. There isn’t anything to be done about it now anyway. The bitch probably had it coming.” Sitting down at the couch he turned the tv on handing her the remote so she could scan for something she might enjoy. She’s not like you, human contact and conversation is important and will help her.
thatonebrunettewithnoregrets:
Scarlett didn’t speak as it seemed he wasn’t in the mood to. He’d probably done cocaine, which didn’t matter to her. It never had and never would. She looked up at him with her large eyes, her bright green irises looking more innocent than ever. Most people would call her crazy, insane, for putting her trust in this man. But, what they didn’t understand, was that she’d done it before. She’d been forced to do it before. So what was so different now? Oh, right. She wasn’t his real problem anymore. He didn’t have to take care of her if he didn’t want to. She knew that she had to be on her best behavior if she didn’t want to be kicked out.
The young woman’s eyelids had sagged to the point of finally closing her eyes, drifting into a somewhat deep sleep. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d dozed off without someone strange in bed with her. Now she had a friend. And, in all honesty, she couldn’t be happier. She was safe.
When the bed shifted, Scarlett didn’t notice a thing. She just curled into a smaller ball, unlike some people who would probably take up more of the bed. She just wanted to be in her own cocoon for a night. Finally. Without some man or woman having their arm draped around her body. Though, even if the closeness of a stranger bothered her, at least there was someone there to keep the nightmares away. Mostly from when she killed Giselle. She’d never murdered before and that was a first. Made the blonde mortal for twenty-four hours just to murder her.
The brunette sat up in bed, breathing heavily, feeling as if the blood was covering her body like it had that fateful night. She looked around the room, seeing that Tate was still there, just at his desk. She felt ridiculous for having nightmares about something she’d induced. Rubbing her forehead, the young woman glanced at Tate before looking at the wall across from her. “Oh… Okay…” she whispered to herself.
Writing out on a few papers he set up his next grouping of jobs he’d do and checked his files for who he would need to contact once the contract was up, making his work more neat felt therapeutic almost as if being neat with his work made his mind more neat, if that makes any sense. Hearing the female shift then to speak under her breath he quirked a brow before turning his head back to see her not quite as asleep as he’d recalled,” What is it?”
His voice was a bit brash his throat sore from the lack of liquids, the chemical drip from the drugs still lingering against the back of his throat. Turning his chair around he faced her now onyx hues fixed on her puzzled as to why she was awake. It was still pretty late and he’d been pretty quiet so the fact she was mumbling and looking wide awake was astonishing to him. Dreaming? Crossing his arms over his scar painted chest he cocked his head to the side,
”Bad dream?”
Most day’s he didn’t sleep and when he did he didn’t dream. It’d been a while since he’d dreamed and when he did it was mostly of people he’d left behind. Since those days were all he could think of not dreaming was an easy solution though he did ponder over what he was missing out on. Nothing much. The room fell silent once his thoughts depleted his gaze heavy on her awaiting an answer.
thatonebrunettewithnoregrets:
Scarlett snickered at his words. He had a good point. It just felt weird being in someone’s house that she wasn’t having sex with. Or… wasn’t having sex with anymore. She cleared her throat and wiped her eyes as if a way to bring her back to reality. The brunette felt strange ‘living’ with Tate again since it’d been so long. She knew that she looked and maybe acted differently. More shy around the people she knew at one point, but outgoing when it came to having sex to survive. Did it make sense? No. Was it how her world worked? Unfortunately, yes.
The young woman ran a hand through her hair as she watched him make room for her, just shaking her head. “No, I like weird people,” she told him with a gentle smile and a soft chuckle. She stepped into his room, shutting the door behind her, though didn’t actually make her way over to the bed as she was still iffy. For what reason? She had no idea. Nothing seeming to make sense anymore, but that was okay… She supposed.
Hearing his words, Scarlett nodded and finally made her way over to the bed, laying down and pulling the blanket over her small frame while curling into a small ball. “It’s nice to be around a friend for once,” she spoke up with a grin, nuzzling into one of the pillows. Yeah, the brunette still considered him a friend. She probably always would. He’d protected her, after all. They’d been together. She wouldn’t admit it aloud since she felt as though that would make her weak and that was the last thing she wanted, though she missed having someone around her that she could trust. Maybe not exactly ‘protect’ her, but just be with her. Someone who could maybe help her.
Just laying there he pondered over the events once again trying to listen to her at the same time but partially failing to. Her presence next to him was barely made known her body not able to put enough pressure down to fully drag his attention, though the blankets being tugged on did. Friend. I guess we are friends aren’t we? This is what this is kind of like for people who have this sort of relationship. They help each other.
It’d been a long time since he helped someone for no reason, he couldn’t even recall a time like that. Though to him he felt there was a deeper reason behind it he allowed himself to believe they might be able to be friends. He stayed silent for a long time, possibly a few hours barely moving at all before he sat up turning his gaze to the window. Tired eyes lingered there before he glanced to Scarlet then to stand. It seemed like she’d fallen asleep, most people would laying in bed at this hour, and by this time the drugs had worn off though he still felt his mind racing.
Stepping to his desk he decided to put his mind to work sifting through some files to try and decide what he’d do next. The fact he’d taken Scarlet in meant he had intentions to help her better her situation but he wasn’t exactly sure as to how he could help her or even what the first step was. Sure he had the money to buy her a place to stay and a car but would that fix her position?
Unless I took care of her like a child she would starve unless she gets a job. But what will she do? Letting out a slight sigh he went through job requests wondering if anything would catch his eye, just trying to pass time until morning came. Sleeping probably wouldn’t be on the schedule for tonight, so might as well plan for the day.
rcttenheart:
‘‘ they were shitty. ‘‘ her mouth moves faster than her brain and mandy catches herself slipping up for a second. if she could kill them herself all over again she would. the girl runs a delicate hand through her hair and clenches her jaw. ‘‘ i AM traumatized.. i went to therapy and all that.’‘
a hand moves to open a dawer right next to her bed and she pulls out an orange plastic bottle, holding it up for him to see. ‘‘ & they give me all kinds of pills, alright? —– BESIDES, if you’d try something i’d gut you like a fish. just ‘cause my friends died, doesn’t mean i don’t know how to defend myself.’‘
mandy was beginning to dislike where the conversation was going, so she shrugged it off, eyes darting into him after he seems to be done inspecting the things she had moved into her room already. ‘‘ why do you care anyways? you know i could still call the cops and tell them you broke in here. or tell your parents or something.’‘
Watching her curse her dead friends to explaining about her therapy he nodded a bit as if to assure her on her solid story. Who was he to pry though? Shrugging a bit he shook his head,” Nah not trying anything, I suppose if I was going to I would have already right?”
As she became more defensive his gaze shifted over her stuff one more time before landing on her once again. Call the cops, my parents, many great choices. The whole scene felt nostalgic to him, watching the paramedics carry her out of the building she’d occupied next door. What a sweet release it was, even if he’d only seen the body bag. She didn’t linger any longer and the thought of it put a smirk on his face. “Hey I am just curious, I feel like i’ll be seeing you quite a bit since you moved in here. Just getting acquainted is all. You are interesting to me.”
Turning away from her ,”Besides, since I left school I’ve been on my own. For the most part anyway, my parents are dead so I don’t think they will have anything to say about my behavior.”
Talking about his mother put a burning sensation in his stomach her constant nagging on him to be the perfect son all because her other two children weren’t physically capable of being normal. “But if you want to call the cops i’ll leave, really don’t have anything else to say anyway.”
rcttenheart:
‘‘ tate huh? you look like an edward.’‘ glossy lips curve into a slight smile and she’s suprised to admit that tates company wasn’t that creepy after all.
but they definetily had to change the locks around the house. when the boy brings up her family though, her smile is gone in an instant. teeth sink into her lower lip and mandys brows knit together in a frown for a moment. ‘‘ well, my parents died so it’s just me and my aunt but.. ‘‘ a shrug follows and she glances down at her hands, careful not to let anything slip. she was poor innocent mandy, the victim. the girl that was dragged into that bloody mess. not the sociopath who planned it all.
‘‘ well, my FRIENDS were murdered by who i thought was my friend as well. i don’t know, he was obsessed with me or something.’‘ mandy mutters and her gaze flickers back to tate. ‘‘ after the investigation and stuff my aunt thought it would be best to move somewhere else, leave the traumatic stuff and he drama back in texas.’‘
Quirking an inquisitive brow he thought about prying a bit but decided against it before listening to her story. Funny to him she didn’t seem damaged at all. Someone who had all her friends murdered wouldn’t be this talkative to someone who had broke into her home would they?
“Big house for just two people.” It was a tad bit strange she’d purchase a home this big unless she had a plan for it right? It’s huge for just two people. Maybe a family with the possibility of growing, but an aunt and some supposedly riddled teen? Pushing off of the wall he took a few steps around her room just glancing over the things she’d brought in,
”Not to be rude but you don’t really seem grief stricken. Must have been some pretty shitty friends.”
Glancing to her door he turned his gaze back to her arms resting now comfortably across his chest,” Shouldn’t you be uh well a little more traumatized? I mean I broke into your house and you really didn’t even bat an eyelash.” There was definitely more to this story than she surfaced, and to his delight she was turning out to be way more fun than he’d expected on entry.
rcttenheart:
his question makes mandy sigh deeply but she nods nontheless. if only she was done with school already. she hated it, she hated highschool with every fibre of her being. it wasn’t like she was bullied ever, no nothing like that. but the constant .. attention from the boys around her had shaped mandy into something she wasn‘t even sure she liked. how they constantly felt the need to grab her ass, pull her close by the waist and force kisses on her. how good it had felt to see their slaughtered corpses. & now it would start all over again.
the blonde makes herself comfortable on the bed, feeling the soft matress shift under her weight. ‘‘ i fucking hate school though.—– are you homeschooled?’‘ if she hadn’t caused the death of her highschools most populars already, surely she’d do it again. ‘‘ i’m mandy by the way. you gonna tell me your name or you want me to just call you CREEP ? ‘‘
Watching her movement he concluded she was probably in the range of 17 to 19. Listening to her voice calmed him a bit the desired attention from another being enough at the moment. Homeschooling, that’s rich.
Shaking his head he felt a bit uneasy wanting to get off the subject but played along nonetheless,”No, no homeschooling. I dropped out.” It was a simple conclusion compared to what had actually happened a lingering pain in his chest making itself known,”I hated school as well. I’d rather die then go back there.”
Leaning against the wall of her new room smirking at her introduction,” Oh, I’m not one for pet names.” Letting the joke play off his lips he brushed dirty blonde locks out of his gaze before deciding it’d be okay to introduce himself,” I’m Tate..” Hues shifting to the ceiling he couldn’t pull the smirk off his features,
” But you can call me whatever you like.”
He found it amusing that she labeled him as a creep, probably in her right mind to yet she was obviously entertaining the fact that there is just some strange dude in her room. “What made your folks decide to move here?”

rcttenheart:
at the unfamiliar voice mandy twirles around and draws in a sharp breath, almost choking on the air in her lungs. bright blue eyes stare at the INTRUDER in shock before anger takes its place.’‘ what the hell?’‘ the girl hisses and narrows her eyes as she takes in his appearance. relief floods through her when she realizes he’s just some harmless teen.‘‘ you have nothing better to do than break into other peoples homes?’‘
pale arms cross in front of her chest and mandy contemplates if she should call for her aunt to get the creep out of her room ; but she decides not to. after a long pause she turns on her heel again, opening the dirty window to let a breeze of cold winter air inside. ‘‘ —– you go to school here?’‘
Shrugging a bit he waved his hand a bit in the air gesturing to the walls,” It’s a cool house, big got a lot of character.” Smirking a bit he stared intently on her,” From my understanding it’s got a bit of a past, so I like to come here occasionally.” The irony in what he was talking about, like he had the chance to leave. Though it wasn’t untrue he tried to enjoy his time here, he wasn’t really thriving in other options so might as well try not to be miserable.
Plus there had been a few interesting events to keep him amused here, not in a while but that all could be changing. His breath hitched at the mention of schooling his eyes now wandering away from her,
”No, well I mean I did... but not anymore.”
Staring at something for a moment he shrugged the question off before glancing back to her trying to determine how old she was by her looks, though it wasn’t immediately obvious to him. Youthful women could surprise you and either be quite young or rather the opposite. “Will you be attending school around here?”
It wasn’t the type of thing he liked talking about dark thoughts always seeming to creep in, though it would give him an idea of how old she was. Wandering around her for a moment he let his eyes gaze away again looking over the odd things she’d brought in with her, her scent alone being new and interesting to him.
rcttenheart:
‘‘ i’m going upstairs.’‘ mandy calls out to her aunt before grabbing one of the small boxes and stepping inside their new home. she didn’t want to move, she liked TEXAS ; but after the slaughter on her closest friends and mandys faked trauma her aunt believed it was the right thing to do. the old house is silent, aside from the creaking steps of the blonde’s feet against the old wood floors. ‘’ this place is fucking creepy.’‘ mandy mutters to herself as she enters her new room. after making sure the door was closed behind her she pushes the box under her bed, deciding to find a safe place for her KNIVES some time later. ( @insanityenforcer also gets a random thing. )
It’d been an unpleasantly long time for anything in the home to happen, nobody wanted the old house riddled in crime. Unexplained horrific events all occurring in a huge creepy old house. Why would anyone wanna invest in it? Hell it was surely a good deal for the size, but with it’s past you’d think they would learn sooner or later. Yet another family came barging in breathing new life into the old home the itch for new communication crawling over him.
Keeping to the shadows idle eyes watched the new girl waltzing around his room. Harsh hues shifted over her things wondering what type of girl she was exactly, though it wasn’t enough to keep the excitement at bay. New was good enough for him, he wondered if she scared easily. Contemplating it for a few moments he decided he would spring himself on her before allowing himself to be seen as she wasn’t facing him,
” Don’t you have anything interesting?”
His sarcastic tone broke through the silence his harsh gaze meeting hers at last, his pale digits tracing along a few things she’d set down. Considering the situation he didn’t know if it’d be a good idea to let her in on what he was just yet,” I thought this place was abandoned, you’d think if they were selling it they’d lock the windows right?” A smirk tugged onto his lips as he just watched the girl he’d intruded in on.
thatonebrunettewithnoregrets:
Scarlett listened to his words, it being obvious to her that he was having trouble communicating, though she didn’t point it out or say anything, even when he brought it up. Then, once he’d spoken up about money, the brunette tilted her head to the side, her hair falling along her shoulders as she listened to him. Most people would probably be horrified at his words, but the young woman knew what his line of work was, so it wasn’t too much of a shock.
“Oh, wow… That sucks,” she commented, not sure what else to say since sympathy was kinda lost on her at this point. Yes, he’d shown her mercy and had taken her in, but that didn’t mean she still didn’t feel out of place. Especially when he mentioned laying down, leaving her alone in the living room once again. What was she supposed to do? She didn’t have a phone since she couldn’t pay any bills if her life depended on it. She didn’t have any friends… She was alone. Well, except for Tate.
Since she’d asked earlier if she could sleep in his room, after having spoken her thoughts and memories aloud unintentionally, Scarlett figured that she was somewhat welcomed into his room since he’d agreed when they were in the car. So she slowly stood up from the sofa, waiting for his door to close so it didn’t seem as if she was a little lapdog behind him, before walking to and entering his room. Seeing him in just sweats while he laid on his bed made her feel as if she wasn’t quite as welcomed as she’d first thought.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” she apologized, not having meant to intrude in this way. “I just thought…” the brunette trailed off, her cheeks burning as she felt stupid for not even knocking. “I’ll go back onto the couch… I should’ve knocked. I’m sorry,” she apologized once again.
Eyes shifting to the door as it opened he just kept silent watching her seem uncomfortable at the sight of him, it puzzled him a bit seeing as he wasn’t really doing anything private. Recalling the discussion they’d had previously he nodded a bit trying to signal to her she was welcome to enter,” Why are you apologizing? I don’t have my dick out or anything.”
Chuckling slightly he scooted over making room for her a bit confused as to why she felt more comfortable there, most people felt uneasy around him. It still seemed as if she did too, but then again he was sworn to protect her. So being there with him probably wasn’t as uncomfortable as he’d initially taken into account. “Sorry I am so weird.”
Onyx hues kept on the ceiling not really looking at anything in particular as he pondered over the nights events. He ruined a job for her so she must have been weighing on him more than he thought someone could, a little grasp of the humanity he was losing everyday. Though he had completely lost connection to reality and the past that they’d shared, the isolation he faced retraining himself was enough to wash out prior thoughts.
Shutting his eyes he felt his thoughts racing the drugs he’d snorted causing his heart to be abnormally fast, sleeping really wasn’t an option for now. Unfortunately it was shit grade so if he wasn’t constantly doing it, it would sooner or later wear off. Gazing over to her again he gestured a hand,
”Don’t just stand over there, I did say you could come in you know.”
thechanls:
Hester’s dark eyes dilated, a thrill screaming through her veins at the prospect of so much chaos, ❛ Lets just say I know a good show when I see one. ❜
His eyes shifted from the card back to her visage darkness looming in her gaze,” Well I wouldn’t deny a pretty girl her desires.” As much as he desired to snatch the card up dark eyes kept on her,
”Will you be accompanying me then?”
