A Letter from Mrs. Beard

Hello beloved Blue Beard followers,

I am so sorry to inform you of Blue Beard’s death.  Blue Beard passed away this morning slightly after 9.  He had just returned from a quick business trip yesterday and today he is gone.  My brothers were the cause of Blue Beard’s death.  I had entered a room that I was not supposed to and he found out by a blood stained key.  Blue Beard was a very violent, controlling man who was not fit for a marriage.  He had violently murdered his past wives and left them in the closet on the ground floor.  This is the room I entered and saw with my very own eyes what he had done to these women.  I was the next victim.  Since I grew up next door, my sister could hear me yelling for help.  My brothers arrived at the perfect time and saved me from death.  I have inherited all of Blue Beard’s belongings and wealth because he has no family.  I was his only family.  I am so grateful that my brothers were able to save my life and not allow the cycle continue to other innocent women.

Bloody or Clean?

I have made the journey home.  Upon my arrival my wife was filled with joy to see me!  She was shocked that I returned so soon.  After sharing a long embrace, I asked my lady for my keys back.  I inspected all of the keys I had given her to find that the one to my closet on the ground floor was missing.  I told her to bring it to me promptly.  When she brought it back to me, it was covered in blood and my wife was terrified.  I could see the fear in her eyes as she handed me the key.  I knew immediately that she had gone in my closet (the one place out of the entire estate that I told her not to go).  I knew what she had seen.  I knew what I had to do. 

The contents of my closet contained parts of my past.  Pieces that represented each past wife that had failed the test.  Not a single one has passed such a simple test that I present them with.  Curiosity seems to get the best of them and once again I will be a single man.  My wife knew she would be next and I gave her some time before making her join the rest.

Return to my love!

I have just received the BEST news! I will be returning home within the day because my business trip has been cancelled.  I was able to handle my business on my journey so I am headed home to my wife! I hope she has had some friends over to keep her company.  So now I can share how the test of curiosity works.  Upon my return I will ask my wife for the bundle of keys back.  If the key is spotless, just as it was when I left she will pass the test and it will be a glorious day! If there is blood on the key, then I will know that she had entered my closet on the ground floor.  There is a punishment for such behavior.  Lets just say, she won’t be my wife for much longer.

The Test

I have unexpectedly been called out of town on a business trip.  This deeply upsets me because I just got married a day ago.  I don’t want to leave my wife all alone for six weeks but I must.  I told my wife that she should have her friends over to keep her company and to show off her new beautiful estate.  Before my departure, I gave my wife all the keys to my house.  The keys open doors, closets and chests with all my valuable belongings.  I have given her full access to all my property.  There was only one little rule I set.  My wife is not to open the closet on the ground floor.  This is my space which contains parts of my past and I keep it very private.  No one is to go in or out of that room expect for me.  The key to the forbidden closet is on the large bundle of keys that I gave her.  Now I will be able to test her curiosity when I am away.

Right after the wedding, my beautiful bride moved into my wonderful house located in town.  It did not take very long to move all of her adolescent clothing one door down the street.  My very large house has room for all her belongings.  She seems to be loving the beginning of the married life.  This has all happened so fast, I hope this is not the beginning of another cycle.  The only way to see is to give her the test.....

Can you feel the love?

I just got back from an outing with my neighbor and her daughters.  We went to my personal country club a little ways away from the city.  I think I have found my new wife.  The youngest daughter does not seem to be put off by the blue in my beard.  She actually loves me and wants to marry me! I did not know finding a new wife would be so simple.  I took advantage of the beautiful country club atmosphere and proposed! We will be getting married tomorrow! At last I will have a wife again.

Behind the beard

I am Blue Beard; the man, the myth the legend.  I am apparently found ugly for having a blue beard but I like to think otherwise.  My beard makes me special and rare.  I wish people would see past the beard and look into who I really am.  I have had many wives but no body seems to stick.  I have this feeling that I am going to find a new wife very soon...hopefully one that truly loves me.  Today I am going to take my neighbors to my country club. Please cross your fingers that it goes well.
