shigure: my gender is "pretty boy"
here are a few little headcanons about shigure’s knowledge of technology. :>
for those of you who are unfamiliar with fire emblem, shig has come from a world that’s pseudo-middle ages with plenty of fantastical elements -- magic tomes, divine weapons, shape-shifters, dragons, wyverns, pegasi, kinshi, the works. he’s going through a bit of culture shock, to say the least.
he’s never seen electricity before, so he assumes all the lights are some sort of magic. if anyone tries to explain the concept to him, he’ll be pretty confused.
he knows about ovens and ice chests, but things like stoves are new to him. he’ll recognize their functions once he learns about them, though (”oh, it’s like cooking over a fire but with no fire”).
he LOVES having running water. whatever temperature he wants, as much as he wants, whenever he wants? amazing!
he’ll take a lot of pampering showers and baths -- in his home world, his options were a) cold water alone in a nearby stream or b) hot water in the bathhouse where anyone and everyone could see him, so this is paradise.
obviously, shig has no idea how to use a smartphone.
or a computer.
or a tv.
or anything electronic.
divinelusive:
❝ Pearl rock … ? Don’t think i’ve been there yet ! What’s that plan like ? ❞
❥┊ It sounded kinda … strange to Kamui, Kinda like a literal peal rock, but maybe it was some sort of Garden ? Or maybe some sort of art store … Something Shigure would like ! Well he’ll just have to wait for an answer from the younger boy, but the comment about Azura caught kamui’s attention, write home ? Huh … well Shigure apparently got here more so by choice so it made Kamui curious
❝ Huh, I’m not sure ! Maybe you could ask … the uhhh … ❞ Oh the name seems to have left him, it was some place that offered to answer questions they had ! ❝ Umm, I don’t remember the name of the place ! but it was the place that they said to go to if we have any questions … Though you could also just go to the mail office and ask too ~ ❞
“It’s a beach! A very pretty one, too. I could have stayed there for hours painting the scenery... Sadly, I had to leave because I forgot to pack a lunch. I would love to show you where it is sometime.”
“I’m afraid I don’t recall either,” he said, frowning. “The person who welcomed me told me about a particular office that answers questions, but I don’t know which one.”
𝄢 After his successful excursion to Pearl Rock, Shigure was eager to find other interesting places. However, he felt like he was aimlessly wandering without any guides. Without asking for directions, he would have never made it back to his apartment.
“I wish we had a map...”
dualburnt:
shouto has never enjoyed being stared at. he’s gotten his fair share throughout his school life, his asymmetrical looks somewhat of a hot topic among his classmates ( particularly the women ). though it’s his scar that bothers him the most, most either looking too curiously at his for his comfort or with a grief that makes his skin crawl and his anxiety spike to almost unbearable levels. he’s had several occasion where he’s had to excuse himself from situations where it’s almost unbearable – the stares, the concerned eyes and the not-so-silent whispers of gossip into expectant ears of how his mother was a ‘lunatic’ and a ‘freak’. his skin crawls with the thought. he can feel someone’s eyes on him even now, while sitting in his lonesome. in truth, he’s waiting for midoriya, the older boy having ventured off on a solo errand, and shouto being perfectly fine with waiting up for him. it’s not to say he isn’t uncomfortable, however, and his head turns to meet the stranger’s eyes, his classic dead-pan glare painting his features. despite his best efforts to appear cold and unapproachable, as is normally his default, the stranger approaches him, offering him a welcoming greeting and a smile. shouto remains emotionless – again, his default – and keeps a low dead-pan tone, not really looking to get into too many details when the individual – Shigure, he said his name is – asks of his hair. ❝ yes, it is. uhm… ❞ he’s unsure of what to say, so he opts to keep up the hair conversation. ❝ is yours? natural, i mean. ❞
“Yes, and I’m surprised I haven’t been asked about it,” Shigure said. “Light blue isn’t exactly a... common color.” He chuckled slightly, then trailed off with a sigh.
𝄢 His eyes fell onto the paper in his lap. One corner was occupied by a drawing of a woman with hair flowing like water down her back, a pendant clasped in her hands. Lifting it carefully so as to not disturb the drying ink, he showed it to the teen.
“I inherited my hair from my mother, Azura,” he explained. “Where I come from, she is well-known for her beautiful singing voice... And since it is so obvious that I am her son, I was frequently singled out. I suspect you’re all too familiar with that feeling.”
“It’s refreshing to be in a place where nobody knows who you are, wouldn’t you agree?” he pondered aloud.
eclaircir:
Adjusting to this new world was difficult, to say the least. It was peaceful, but he still worried, especially for his traveling companions and for Sakura-chan, but on the bright side he discovered it’s magic was strong enough to get rid of the condition that he’d need Kurogane’s blood to live still, but he remained a vampire. Well, he’s gotten used to that, at least.
Science nor technology was Fai’s forte. In Piffle Country, he was mostly reliant on Syaoran or Kurogane to work out all the details, especially when they were building airships to win the race that prized Sakura’s feather. He only wanted to take care of all the naming.
This little machine that was called a cell phone was peculiar thing, but the vampire found it cute at least. Each time he pressed a button, it lit up and made a little sound. Maybe he should name it Mokona. Suddenly he heard a voice addressing him.
❝ Mm? Pleasure to meet you, Shigure-kun. I’m Fai D. Flourite. Just Fai is fine, though.❞
❝ I’m afraid I’m as lost as you are, I’ve only seen this sort of technology once in my life. Perhaps two heads are better than one?❞
“Yes, let’s work together and figure this out. Unfortunately, I’m not sure I’ll be of much help. All of this is new to me...”
𝄢 Shigure hated to admit his lack of knowledge, but what else could he do? It was obvious from just the way he was handling the cellphone, gawking at the small block of technology. He realized this must have been how his Nohrian relatives felt when he introduced them to his pegasus -- they were awed by something completely foreign.
𝄢 He pressed the shape again, illuminating the front part of the phone. Glancing around, he noticed that people were touching this lit up portion, so he mimicked their actions. The display changed -- the time and date disappeared and little squares popped up, each with a short descriptive title underneath.
“Messages? Maps? Weather? Camera?” Shigure read aloud, puzzled. “What are these things?”
fiercegarmr:
Is that Shigure?
Huh, he wasn’t expecting him of all people to be in this place but he did recall Kamui mentioning the other being here. Admittedly, he had thought It was some sort of mistake or an importer, but because of Shigure’s scent It was clearly easy to tell that wasn’t the case here.
Did he end up here on his own choice? Flannel could hardly remember how he ended up here in the very first place, really. He thought It had to do with his awful sense of direction again, It wouldn’t be the first time that he had gotten lost or ended up in places that he shouldn’t have been. However, when they explained about where he was, his new home and roommate and the whole welcome home packet… It didn’t really seem like he was lost and was taken into the place instead. Nonetheless with his hands in his pocket. he would approach the other from behind, tapping the male’s shoulder to get his attention.
❝ —Shigure? ❞ He whispers his name quietly, almost as if doubting himself If It really was him and that his nose was finally starting to fail on him. ❝ I didn’t think you would end up in this sort of place. Azu- I mean, your mother isn’t here too is she? ❞
“Yes, it’s me, Flannel,” Shigure said with a chuckle. “I’m glad to see another familiar face!”
“I wanted to find out if the rumors were true,” he replied to the semi-question. “I can’t recall exactly how I got here... I only remember the beginning and end of my journey, actually. I wished for adventure, and I definitely got it.”
“Do you remember how you arrived in Koi, by any chance?”
𝄢 He sobered at the mention of Azura. She was heartbroken after he decided to leave in search of Koi, he could not imagine what she was going through now that more of her close friends and family had disappeared.
“No, Mother is not here yet. I wonder how she is faring...”
gearheaded:
Winry Rockbell had never been one to sleep in. She always felt much more energized in the mornings than any other time of day, so she preferred an early start to kick any chores out of the way. However, it was hard to wake up at a decent hour after a couple of all nighters, and as she sat up groggily and listened to the footsteps outside her room, she realized that there was someone in her apartment. Not bothering to check her phone for any heads up, the blonde stood and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes as she crossed to her door.
She’d been expecting someone to show up, after all they had told her that she’d have a roommate, or a pair, when she’d first arrived—she only wished she’d been more prepared. Pulling the door open, she blinked widely up at him only glancing down when he held his hand out toward her. Smiling, she placed her calloused hand in his and gave it a firm shake. “That’d be correct. Winry Rockbell, at your service. It’s a pleasure, Shigure.”
The mechanic motioned toward the living area. “Did you just get in? I’m sorry I didn’t have any snacks ready, kinda fell asleep for a bit… er, you hungry? Thirsty? I have tea and Ithink there might be enough ingredients for a couple of sandwiches.” She smiled, tight lipped and sheepishly. “I haven’t gone shopping in few days.”
She ran her hands through her hair, lifting it away from her shoulders and securing it in a messy bun as she made her way toward the small kitchen area to grab a glass of water for herself. She wasn’t sure how long she’d been asleep for, but she felt parched so it was either a couple of hours or a couple of days.
“Yes, I only just finished unpacking,” Shigure replied. “And please, there’s no need to worry yourself over me... Though a cup of tea would be lovely.”
𝄢 He watched Winry head into the kitchen, noting how she moved about the apartment with relative ease. She must have been living here alone for a while... He hoped he was not intruding -- though he supposed that, since they were matched by the mysterious pairing program, neither of them had much of a say in the matter.
𝄢 Now that introductions were over with, though...
“What is that metal cupboard?” he asked, his curiosity becoming too much to bear. “I looked inside of it just a little bit ago. It seems to be like an ice chest, but with no ice... How does it work?”
“And that thing there,” he continued, gesturing towards a silver box with a thick door on the front, “what does it do? I’ve never seen anything like it.”
𝄢 He then stopped himself, clearing his throat awkwardly.
“Ah, my apologies. I’m afraid I have much to learn about this world. If you’re willing to teach me, I’d greatly appreciate it.”
sorry for the recent absence! i was swamped with midterm projects/tests, so i didn’t have much free time.
good news, though: all my replies are finished and queued! they should be posted over the next few days.

𝄢 After Shigure’s belongings were unpacked, he walked out into the common area of his apartment to examine his new home. It was not lavishly furnished, but then again, his standards were fairly high. He had lived in a castle, of course everything else seemed simple by comparison. Still, the place was comfortable and cozy, so he had no complaints.
𝄢 He made his way into the kitchen area, marveling at how different it was from ones in his home world. He opened the door of a large metal cupboard and was greeted with a blast of freezing air.
“An ice chest?” he asked aloud, puzzled. It was keeping the food cold without any ice, though... “Fascinating.”
𝄢 Beyond the kitchen, Shigure found a small dining table, a plush sofa and chair set, and a strange thin black box that almost looked like a painting’s frame. He decided to ask his roommate about the mysterious box later.
𝄢 Speaking of his roommate (or Pair, whatever the term was), where was she? He knew her name was Winry, but nothing more. He walked over to the hallway and checked the bedrooms. His door was still ajar, while the other was closed. He raised his hand to knock just as it swung open.
“Ah!” Shigure let out a small noise of surprise. He fumbled for a moment before settling on sticking his hand out, mimicking a gesture several people had done to him -- a ‘handshake,’ if he recalled correctly. “You must be Winry. It’s good to meet you, I’m Shigure.”

𝄢 Shigure was still clueless as to how he reached Koi so quickly. He clearly recalled first setting out, but everything between then and arriving in the city was a complete blur. It was worrisome to say the least. However, the people were friendly, and acted as if they were expecting him, so maybe it would be alright. He still was a little suspicious, though.
𝄢 His welcome package included some rather... interesting items. While all the buildings were somehow illuminated with artificial light, the candle reminded him of home, so he was sure he was going to use it. He was unfamiliar with the object made of diamonds, so he supposed it would make a good paperweight. And the wizard hat... Well, it was just about the right size to be a sleeping bag for Cadros. Said pegasus shrunk significantly as a result of coming to Koi. He was about the size of a house cat, or maybe a small dog, Shigure was not quite sure. He just relished the fact that he could carry his beloved steed in his arms (much to Cadros’ chagrin). He appreciated the gifts, though he guessed he was not using them exactly the way they intended.
𝄢 He also had received a very important object called a ‘cellphone.’ Shigure stared at it, completely and utterly confused. It was unlike anything he had seen before, that was for sure. He noticed a small shape embedded into its side and pressed down on it experimentally -- suddenly, the front portion lit up, showing a picture and some letters and words. Shigure gasped in amazement. He barely recognized the information on the cellphone as the current date and time before the lights went off and it turned black once more.
𝄢 He looked around and spotted a man who looked just as befuddled. Maybe, if they put their heads together, they could figure things out.
“Hello! I’m Shigure,” he introduced himself. “I just got here, and I’m afraid I’m a bit lost... Especially when it comes to this cellphone thing. Do you know how it works?”
@dualburnt liked for a starter!
𝄢 Shigure sat on a bench in Begonia Meadows, a scroll of paper covered in little doodles sitting in his lap. He dipped his brush into an inkwell, swirling it in the black liquid idly as he observed the other people in the park.
𝄢 Before he had arrived in Koi, he worried that his light blue hair would stand out too much. In his home world, it made him instantly recognizable as the son of Azura, the songstress. Thankfully, this was not the case. The city was home to people of all different hair colors, though he suspected many of them were the result of dyes, not genetics.
𝄢 He caught a glimpse of movement to his left -- he turned and saw the profile of a teenaged boy with snow white hair. How long had he been sitting there? Shigure had been too distracted to notice. The boy moved his head to cast a glance towards him, and he stifled a gasp. Scratch that, his hair was only white on one side. The other half of his hair was a rich, bright red. Shigure never would have thought that color combination would work, but wow, did it look good on him. He was so caught up in admiring the teen’s hair that he almost missed the dark maroon mark around his left eye.
𝄢 Shigure paused. He had seen enough injuries to recognize it as a serious burn scar. He had also talked to enough soldiers to know that if a person does not mention their scar, it is best not to ask about it. Thus, he tries a slightly safer question.
“Hello! I’m Shigure, I just recently moved here. I must say, your hair is amazing.” (He figured calling it ‘beautiful’ would be a little too weird.) “Is it natural?”
divinelusive:
❝ Even if this place is a little odd there are still lots of fun things ! The Observatory was really interesting ! What was it … ‘ Reach for the stars ‘ ? It was so pretty ~ And the place called ‘ Split happens ‘ was fun to explore ! Though I was confused by most of the things they had there ~ ❞
❥┊ Bubbly as ever it seems, looking forward to the time he and the others would be spending in this strange world. Shigure had shown up shortly after himself and flannel had though it seemed Shigure willingly ended up in such a world with Kamui found curious since he couldn’t remember how he ended up in this place.
❝ Have you found anywhere you like Shigure ? I should ask Flannel too when we get back to our shared home … ❞
“I'm glad you’re enjoying yourself, Kamui,” Shigure said, chuckling at the other man’s enthusiasm.
𝄢 He had barely settled into his new residence before going out to explore. Koi certainly seemed to be as lively and prosperous as the rumors had indicated. Still, he felt uneasy... There was more to the city than its squeaky-clean facade, of that he was certain. After his prior experience living in a different realm, who could blame him for being a little on edge?
“I visited Pearl Rock earlier today,” he replied. “It was such an inspiring place. I'm lucky I remembered to bring all my art supplies, this world is full of beautiful scenes to paint...”
“Speaking of homes, I wonder if there’s some way to send messages to other worlds. I’d like to let my mother know I arrived here safely.”
