Advice to New Caregivers
I am not a caregiver myself, these are just things that as a little I see valuable in one.
1. Same with Littles, learn communities and their rules.
I personally am still learning them all, but I try my very hardest to be respectful.
2. When looking for a Little, look in the community that you are a part of, and be respectful.
I canât tell you how many times people send me inappropriate stuff. Iâm completely a non sexual little, and it really upsets me when people treat me otherwise.
3. If your little would like them, create rules and/or chores.
Sticker charts are especially motivating to get things done. Rules are a good way to add structure to your Littleâs life, just be careful about too many rules, because it can be hard to remember them all.
4. Find your âvoiceâ.
Teachers have teacher voices, parents have parent voices, caregivers have caregiver voices! Itâs your special stern voice that letâs us know youâre in charge.
5. Be smart about punishments.
Some caregivers like to have punishments for when their little misbehaves. You have to be careful about what is and isnât an appropriate punishments. Taking away a comfort item if it helps them with anxiety is not. Time out, no dessert, having to write an apology, etc. usually are.
6. Learn their headspace, as well as your own.
CAREGIVERS HAVE A BIG HEAD SPACE JUST LIKE WE HAVE A LITTLE ONE. Learn what helps your little feel little, as well as what helps you feel big.
7. Of course, enjoy yourself.
Being a caregiver is a big job, whether or not you have a little. Just remember youâre doing great! Take a deep breath and enjoy it.
How to be Little in Public
â¤ď¸ be playful and silly, your friends and family are probably more familiar with your little side than you think. Joking around and being goofy is a great way to let your little side out
â¤ď¸ where something that makes you feel cute. My little side really likes pastel colors, my puppy side really likes black. So I have been incorporating those colors into my wardrobe.
â¤ď¸ have a cute water bottle with you. Drinking water or juice out of cute bottles is a very simple way to feel smol. I recently got a unicorn bottle at Walmart and no one looks twice at it, except to say how cool it is and I feel very cute when I use it.
â¤ď¸ Listen to music that makes you feel little, or listen to an audio book. I have a little playlist of a bunch of Disney songs and other music that makes me feel little. I also LOVE audible! Itâs like someone is reading me a bed time story.
â¤ď¸download some cute little apps. Tumblr is great, but may be a little obvious. I love the game Neko Atsume, itâs a virtual yard that cats come to and play. I also like My Boo Album, itâs a sticker collection app.
â¤ď¸ eat food that makes you feel little. When Iâm out in public I like to eat fruit, especially if itâs cut up. I also like juice boxes, cheese sticks, graham crackers, teddy grahams, gold fish. Just about any snacks will work, but I would not eat actual baby food out and about. If you want something similar apple sauce is a great alternative.
â¤ď¸ fidget toys or other main stream stim toys. They are cute, stylish and fun, all while helping with anxiety and stress are inconspicuous.
â¤ď¸ bring a small toy or stuffie with you in your bag. It is a big comfort to know that you have a soft friend with you wherever you are

Rewards and punishments for your kitty :3
I donât know what the fuck Iâm doing. going insane, trying to keep it together for my family. fake smile. always a fake smile. hide your emotions. you love your family too much to let them inside your fucking mind. maybe if I did though theyâd hate me as much as I want them too, as much as I hate myself. why canât they tell Iâm a piece of shit. why do they always stick around. I put them through hell. yet they are always there. I donât understand love. one goddamn bit. the way people in my life love me is completely different then the way I love them. Iâm so much more disconnected. you think love is spending time together. I think you should know that I love you even if I wonât pick up your phone calls or answer you, even sit in the same room all day with you and not say a damn word, even if you speak to me. I still love you. I just canât let you in and I canât look you in the eyes⌠I canât let you see how truly broken I am right now. I canât tell you my thoughts cause theyâll destroy you. I hope you understand that even though every day Iâm losing it more and more, I can feel it. I keep it together for you guys, my family. and if that doesnât show you that I love you then you really donât love me. and thatâs okay too. I appreciate your fake love. cause sometimes mine is too. some days I donât love you guys, sometimes I canât stand you, some days im not capable of loving you, but I still love you. because you guys are the only ones keeping me alive at this point. lifeâs hard when youâre losing your mind but you have to keep it together. itâs exhausting, I know. but you are a goddamn viking, you can do it. you can keep it together. for them.
