Cursing Fkn Sux
I had this friend in fifth grade who introduced me to curse words. She would casually use them as though she had been using them for years. About a year later I used a curse word here or there (to fit in) and I. Hated. It.
From then until about 2 years ago, I very rarely cursed. It always sounded like nails on a chalkboard to me. Friends of mine would rant to me using more curses than actual descriptive words. I used to be that guy. You know...like Cap in Avengers 2 where he, in a motherly tone, says “language!” People would make fun of me but I would still call them out for being so crass.
I know it can sound ridiculous but I always observed that cursing made every situation worse. If you’re angry, you can count on the cuss words to make you feel worse. It adds a level of rough and rude language that feels so gross and icky to me. Even today when I “curse” I usually skip a letter or two. I fkng don’t even use the full word.
I’ve always said that language matters. The jokes you make matter because they’re a mirror that we hold up to our society. Make a sexist joke, it matters. Tell a girl she looks pretty before saying she’s smart, it matters. Assuming gender in situations without reason, it matters. So the way you curse or the way you complain or joke....it must matter.
Recently my friends has started using hindi curse words and man they loooove it. Granted it can be comedic at times...but overall I really do hate it. It’s lazy and it’s negative and I despise the way it makes me feel. I’m taking a personal vow today to find better language. Find a better way to express my anger. Find a better way to make jokes. I want to be proud of the person I am and maybe this will bring me there.
i watched the greatest showman and this is maybe my favorite moment <3
The Chrises are killing me
He’s having an existential Chrisis
today my mom and grandma were talking about how thin i’ve gotten. my mom said it like “wow i’m so proud because i know how hard she worked” while my grandma added “yea because she never eats anything”
if i’m “skinny” i get shit for not eating enough. but if i eat enough and get “fat” it’s also a problem. how about we just stop talking about it and tell me i look good for once. thanks.
It is not just about the safety but about the women rights and equality.
i love this movie because it shows women’s inequality in the context of a family you would think is above it due to their wealth and class. It shows inequality in a subtle yet very important light. It’s not just about being catcalled...it’s everything

Suddenly I wonder, ‘Where is the girl that I was last year? Two years ago? What would she think of me now?
