I hate to be that person but perhaps the reason that ‘all straight people’ feel the need to phrase things like this carefully is because everything and anything a straight person says can be twisted into something homophobic etc when it isn’t. I also hate to be that person, but this post has been floating around, and it rubs me the wrong way. It bugs me when people ask up front, “is he gay? Is he trans?? Is he actually a girl??? Is he, you know??”, because not only is it not their business, but it isn’t my place to distribute that information. I get asked so much about other people’s gender identities, and sexual orientations, and I do not feel comfortable answering that, because if they choose to come out to me, that doesn’t give me permission to out them to everyone and anyone who, in the name of curiosity, is “just wondering”. The reason that we groan at a question like “is he, you know” is because we want them to stop asking. We do not care how it’s worded, and in fact, I don’t even care if they’re straight. We just want people to understand concepts such as “need-to-know basis” and “none of your business”.

Obviously he doesn’t care about the show anymore. If he decides to do this I will stop watching the show, and i’m sure a lot of other Whovians will as well. Steven Muffet had his time, but it’s time for him to retire. This is going too far.
