I've got a friend that works for the geological survey here in southern Indiana, and I mentioned the problem of folks falling into caves and holes etc, and she looked straight at me with her one good eye and said "Karst is hungry like that. I've seen what's left." When I think of hungry landscapes, I think of oceans and deserts, but not temperate forests overlaying karst topography...I guess all landscapes are hungry, some just have better waste disposal systems than others.

Hot take, but men feeling like they have it worse than men of previous generations is actually a good thing and shows that we're getting somewhere. It means that they're actually losing privileges they should never have had in the first place. I don't understand why so many people have a hard time accepting this.
