“uh... what do you mean?” hank cocked his head to one side, brows furrowing in genuine confusion. “you seem familiar. are you related to someone here? like perhaps a sister? i can’t quite put my finger on it.”

The laughter doesn’t exactly make him feel any better about being here, but Harry supposes he’ll probably never hit that point. Being shot back in time isn’t his idea of a fun situation. He’s not even sure what he can do here to make a difference, he can only hope that he’ll be sent home sooner rather than later. “I get the feeling there are a lot of things here that are going to take a while to get used to.” He says with a sigh, shrugging his shoulders. “Harry Osborn. What is this place, Mr. McCoy?””
“perhaps but hopefully with the help of your friend you can get adjusted soon,” he said with a nod. “nice to meet you harry. this place,” he half turned and looked around for a moment. “used to be a school. for mutants. prior to that, it was professor charles’ childhood home.” hank turned towards the younger male. “are you a mutant by any chance? someone that my future self perhaps knows?”

“So, 1973…” Harry looks around absently, sliding his sunglasses down his nose a little as he takes in his surroundings. He’s much less calm and composed on the inside, but he’s not about to make that obvious to just anyone. On the outside he looks pretty relaxed, even mildly curious at the absolutely disastrous situation he’s been thrown into. “And we’re here to change the future? I have to say, there’s probably a much easier way to do something like that.”
hank couldn't help but let out a small chuckle upon hearing the other’s remark. the number of times he had encountered new arrivals somehow always amused him. “you think so? well i hope you won’t find it that unaccommodating. it’s gonna take a while to get use to, but welcome to xavier’s mansion. i’m hank mccoy.”

“hank,” warren says, hoping that the other can hear him through the sheer pandemonium (and the incessant flap of his wings). the technology from modern day isn’t that great, so he can’t imagine how awful this earpiece must sound. to hank, though, warren assumes he must think its magnificent. “any update on deactivating the bombs?” he grunts, swooping down to pick up a child that was headed for the main entrance. “we’ve got lots of people going lots of different ways,” he frowns, dropping the child off with another member of his team before heading back to the sky to scout out any more danger. “should’ve planned this out a little better. think we got a little ahead of ourselves.”
upon hearing what their enemy had planned to do at the stadium, hank couldn't help but feel nauseous. but what else was to be expected? it shouldn't have come to a surprise to him and yet it did. killing innocents to frame them was absolutely inconceivable. hank had only wished that they had knew about this nefarious plan much sooner but they were all currently working as best as they could against the clock. as he surveyed the plans in front of him the other’s voice crackled in his ear. “warren, we’re currently working on it at the moment. the mechanism is a bit complex but we’ll be informing you all about it very soon. how’s the evacuation going so far?”

groot watched the other pick up the gummy bear, making a mental note to himself to ask for some later. they looked really pretty, he bets that they tasted pretty great as well. to respond to his question, he pointed at the door. “i am groot (i am waiting)” he replied. “i am groot (i’m waiting for my family).” he put his hands back in the tiny makeshift bowl to grab another piece of food and put it in his mouth.
he nodded once he understood what the other was doing here, waiting for someone perhaps a friend. the little makeshift bowl that groot held as he ate away caught hank’s attention for a brief moment before looking back down at his pack of gummy bears. “would you like to try some of these candies? they’re pretty good. you’ll like them,” he smiled.

❝I am drinking.❞ hank looked over at the young woman, raising his daiquiri as the party around them began picking up. “but moderately. this will most likely be my first and last alcoholic drink.” taking a sip of his cocktail, he surveyed the room of partygoers as the music grew louder. “okay maybe two but that’s it.”

anya opened her eyes, after a long blink and, to look at the source of the voice “i know,” she sighed dramatically “i’ve paid a visit to that library, it’s amazing, like super awesome.” she a little too over excited on the last part, “but i’ve read most of the stuff there already and as i’m sure the rest is nice, they aren’t my cup of tea.” she shrugged and placed her arms behind her head.
“oh you have?” his brows rose as he crossed his arms over his chest. “well that’s great to hear. there are other stuff you can try like listening to vinyls. i’m not sure if you’re aware already but there’s like three boxes up in the attic filled with them. i haven’t really seen many listen to them but if you’re interested then there’s that.”

“IF I HEAR A LOUD GASP I’ll just assume that I did mess up. Although you’re a great teacher so I have faith that this bush will look amazing when we’re done.” Bobby grins over at his friend, giving him a thumbs up right back at him. “Of course I will, you’ll learn all of the jumps. Perhaps not all in one lesson though. Practice makes perfect, just as long as you get up when you fall is what counts. We can always do it when everyones asleep.” Bobby rambles as he turns back to the bush, and trims part of it that needed it. “No one got hurt, except maybe the door, but it’s okay. They never tried that again.”
“if you keep it up you can move onto the art of topiary. you can shape one of the larger shrubs to resemble your little snow creature friend, jim.” eyes darted off to one side to see if the snow gollum was still there. “that makes me even more eager to learn. have you ever tried freezing a large body of water, like a lake? maybe you can freeze a section of the lake that way we don’t have to go all the way down to the ice rink.” he shrugged a little, a hopeful smile blooming across his face, before directing his attention back to the bush. “that’s good to hear. at least doors are replaceable.”

there was nothing else he thought to do so groot sat at what he assumed to be a good space to sit ( on the staircase landing ) and stared at the door. he knew people came in and out of it so he hopes to see one of the other guardians soon. he munched on whatever he could reach at the kitchen and sat still, seemingly unaffected by anyone who would be using the stairs.
if it weren’t for one of his gummy bears falling onto the steps, hank wouldn’t have noticed the small creature stationed on the landing of the staircase. “ah hello there,” he chirped as he scooped up the gummy from the floor and remained in a crouched position. “i almost didn’t see you sitting there. what are you doing here all by yourself?”

“I THINK THAT’S BEAUTIFUL.” Bobby admits with a smile as he thinks everyone deserves to have something like that. A hobby that can act as something therapeutic for them to do. If gardening or being outside was that for Hank, it makes Bobby happy. “Well hopefully I can impress you with my skills. I don’t want to ruin this bush here.” Which was a possibility if he kept joking around rather than paying attention to how he should be doing this. He turns from the shears and looks at his friend. “Yeah? I’ll be the best teacher. You’ll be ice skating like a professional in no time.” He admits proudly. “I’d love to if you want to listen. I had a student once think it would be funny to pull a prank on me, but they didn’t expect me to have already bee aware of their plan. They ended up blowing the door off my classroom once. Ridiculous.” He says and adds in a thank you when Hank compliments his work.
“you’ll be doing no such thing, besides i’m here to guide you and so far you’re doing a great job.” he smiled as he gave bobby a thumbs up with his free hand. “will you be teaching me how to do an axel jump?” he’s never ice skated before but he’s sure he’ll lose count of the times that he’ll fall. “how many time do you think i’m gonna fall before i could be able to decently glide across the ice? 100? i hope no one else is around to see that though.” he shook his head, almost laughing, as he motioned to a part of the bush that needed some more trimming. “whoa they really did that?” he asked incredulously, brows rising. “that’s intense. i hope no one got hurt. to be frank, i really dislike pranks that involve destroying things.”

anya was laying on the floor of the house, her eyes focused on the ceiling a pout fixed on her features and her arms stretched out. one of her hands held her dead phone, it wasn’t like she didn’t know this would happen or that it was even working before the battery ran out, but she felt specially defeated when it happened. “how am i suppose to let my followers know what’s going on if i can’t update my twitter?” she said to anyone who bothered to listen to her, a dramatic sigh leaving her.
“twitter?” hank questioned as he cocked his head to one side. he vaguely remembered hearing one of the others mention that name before, something about the internet. “sorry to hear that,” he offered. “while we don’t have any of that in this era there are other stuff you might want to try out instead. how about occupying yourself with some light reading? we have an expansive library with a wide variety of books waiting to be read.”

June had been trying to control it. Trying not to let the Enchantress take over. But she slowly let her dissolve slip and eventually, it was lights out on June and the Enchantress had found her way forward. Except she hadn’t been able to go to her full form as she felt June was trying to fight back. She thought she might as well enjoy the party, have a little fun in the dark. “Do you hear that?” She said to the person near her, playing the part of innocent June.
“hear what exactly,” he replied as he stood still for a moment. hank thought they were possibly referring to the power generators slowly coming back to life. “you don’t suppose there’s gonna be a thunder storm? i heard it was going to rain later on tonight.” he took a few careful steps forward until he reached the hallway. “there’s some flashlights in the storage room by the way.”

sliding into the unoccupied seat, zinda flashed the person who was accompanying the seat next to her, a small grin. the last the blackhawk remembered was going downstairs to eat and when she looked up from her phone (that she was still getting used to), she was in a totally different place. “so, y’mind tellin’ me how in the world i ended up in some fancy old timy lookin’ mansion?”
the mutant looked up from a manual he was reading to find a new face staring back at him. “oh hello,” he began as he set down the small booklet and adjusted his glasses. “welcome to 1973, you’re here to aid with the prevention of the sentinel program or at least i hope you are.” there’s a small smile plucking at the corners of his lips as he extends his hand towards the other. “i’m hank by the way, hank mccoy.”

“DO YOU FIND IT RELAXING, HANK?” Bobby asks as he looks over at his friend with a bright grin. It felt good to spend time together, and he was learning something new! Which made this even better. “Sweet, it’s like I’m getting the full gardening experience. I’ll have to repay you somehow, I could teach you how to ice skate? I’m really good at that.” He says proudly, then glancing at the shears. “Now how do you use these on the bush?” He asks following him over, watching him closely. “Trust me, I know all about horror stories. Not that one, but back in my time I teach here, sometimes kids do the weirdest things.” He chuckles, paying more attention to how he was being instructed. He tries to mimic the actions. “How am I doing?”
“i do actually, just being outdoors in general is therapeutic for me. ever since i first step foot on these grounds and began gardening i found myself enjoying it.” he nodded as a soft smile made its way across his features. “so i’ve been doing this for a while now. it’s practically a hobby of mine, hardly a chore.” at the mention of ice skating the older mutant perked up. “i’ve always wanted to learn how to ice skate so i’ll definitely take you up on that offer,” he grinned from ear to ear. “hm now i’m curious to know what those weird things are, care to share?” leveling his shears, he continued demonstrating bobby the correct way. “there you go, you’re getting the hang of it.” hank smiled as he stepped back and observed the younger mutant’s work.

BOBBY FOLLOWS HANK closely through the mansion, unsure exactly where this equipment was. Why would he? Sure he’s lived here for a long time, but he had never gotten involved with gardening of all things. “Yeah! It’s my first time, ever. You’re the lucky one that gets to teach me!” The man chuckles as he looks at the shears in his hands. He was just glad they were bonding really. “How hard is it to poke yourself? Should I be worried?” Bobby asks as he looks over at the bushes. “I’ll give this a try! I’ll own this bush.”
“i hope you like it as much as i do. sure, it can be a handful at times but i really love tending to them—-the garden in general.” at that his blue eyes widen a bit. “speaking of which i was forgetting to water the plants. how about we go do that after i teach you how to use these.” he made a snipping sound with his shears and smiled. “well it’s not that it’s common to poke yourself but just don’t play with them. a past student from here did that once, there was so much blood and—-” hank shuddered. “anyways, shall we?” he started towards the bushes he mentioned earlier and began instructing bobby how to properly prune.

“I’M GLAD WE AGREE ON THAT.” Bobby says as he playfully wraps an arm around Hank again for a one-armed hug for a second before he pulls back. He’s thankful for the other in his life though after all this time. He hopes they can stop trask, and the program from ruining lives. Peace is something Bobby wants for them, all of them deserve it. “Yes! Will you tell everyone else that please?” He says with a bright grin. “Lets go! It’s trimming time!” He shouts with a fist pump into the air. Of course he’s being dramatic about it, but he is truly excited anyway.
“i was under the impression that everyone knew,” he replied with quirked brows. a wide, amused smile appeared shortly afterwards at the sight of the other’s enthusiasm. hank motioned bobby to follow him. “so this is absolutely your first time trimming?” he opened the shed and stepped inside, immediately grabbing a pair of hedge shears. “be careful, don't poke yourself with them,” he cautioned though in a jesting manner. “let’s start off with these bushes over here.” the older mutant stood outside the shed as he pointed with his shears at some overgrown bushes off to the side.

It had been some time since Gamora has ventured down into Hank’s lab, safe to say she was glad she did as she walked into some type of a mild explosion. rushing over to the down hank she let out a tiny laugh at his mild disarrayed appearance. “If you say anything about how I look like angel I’ll assume you have brain damage and ban you from here”
the explosion was unexpected, something hank rarely dealt with. he was distracted and had accidentally knocked over a few chemicals. their escape from their containment inevitably caused this mishap and the mutant was left a little disheveled. fortunately for his lab and himself it wasn’t as bad. “i---.” his words couldn’t come out so he just laughed it off. “well this is embarrassing.”
