It’s colder here than I last remembered it. But, for some reason, the old man seemed even colder.
Spring Break couldn’t come any fucking sooner if you ask me. Classes are boring, deadlines are a joke, and my schedule is so tight even virgins look at it in awe. I needed a break from this shitty place; So, I called the only person I felt like I can tolerate at the moment.
I forgot how long it’s been since I last saw Kakuzu. I tried to block it all out of my head once I started TTU. But the smell of his cologne filled the inside of his stupid little Ford Focus (the guys loaded, and thats the car he chose? ‘It’s reliable’, he says. The nerve of that asshole.), and the memories flooded back the entire ride home.
Now mind you, he only broke up with me because I was going away to college. I didn’t do anything stupid to make him not want me anymore. It was a long time ago. I was a dumb teenager who needed the cash, and he was willing to give it when I put out. It was nice, though. For two years he let me stay at his place. The old man fed me, bought me shit, hell- he even taught me how to drive. We really had something good going on….
This neighborhood makes me nostalgic. When we finally arrived home, I couldn’t help but take an extra second to get a good look at the place. The cobbled stairs lead to a creaky door, but the questionable outside only made the inside of the house look all the more luxurious. The sound of classical music from the living rooms television quietly welcomed us inside. Around the corner was a bowl of fruits waiting to be eaten on an island, and even further back was a kitchen that was bigger than my old childhood home. Fuckin’ nice. The thought of real food could actually make me hard right about now.
“Goddamn, I fucking missed this place.” I stole an apple from the counter, and sat in my usual spot on the couch. It’s like nothing had changed.
Kakuzu didn’t acknowledge me, though. It’s not out of the ordinary, to be honest. He wasn’t a man of many words. His unfeeling outside made it a lot easier for me to put up with him. But, he was chatty when I called him up last week. Asking about school, how my life is going, wondering what future plans I had. We talked for hours. Today, he hardly mumbled a greeting.
Whatever.
Nothing good was playing on T.V, so I scrolled down my phone until the motherfucker decided to pay any attention to me. Well, kind of. He sat next to me on the couch. Casual. I hoisted a leg overtop of his. It felt just like old times.
“So, get this,” my best attempt at making conversation, “Our break actually came a few days early because there was this huge fucking storm over in Twilight town, and the whole area doesn’t have power. It was shitty, because I had to be there for that. But now I get to stay here for a little longer, which is sick. I’m not complaining. You know, it really makes me think of that one time we-”
“Hidan.”
His deep voice slashed through my tangent like a sword. I wanted to ignore it and keep going, like he used to do to me, but an unsettling pang of anxiety found its way into my chest. Something was wrong.
“What?”
Silence
“Are you really gonna interrupt my story like that and not say anything? Who the fuc-”
“I’m cutting you off.”
The weight of my heart fell to the pit of my stomach... Maybe it’s not what I think it is...
“Uh, yeah, you cut me off twice, actually. Kinda fucking rude. But it’s whatever I forgive you. Anyway-”
He didn’t even have to say anything to shut me up the second time. He grabbed my arm. Not loose, but not too tight either. This used to be the only way I knew what he was saying is true. He looked me in the eyes. I’ve never felt so exposed in my life. I took a deep breath, trying to slow down time and avoid hearing what I’m about to hear. I know what’s coming next.
“I can’t keep supporting you. You have to take responsibility for yourself. I’m cutting you off.”
I’m not a crier. I’m never a crier. I’m a fucking man. But I swear I could have bursted into a sea of fucking tears after hearing that. It’s not because I’m spoiled. I’m not dependent or needy or any of that other shit. Kakuzu’s funds were the last thing I had of him to hold onto. I don’t care how stupid it sounds, because it’s true. He’s not saying ‘I’m not giving you any more money’. He’s saying ‘you’re on your own. Goodbye.’. But I’m not fucking taking that.
“What?” My raised voice broke me free from his grasp. “Are you fucking with me? How am I supposed to live out there? How do you expect me to survive? I’m only out there because your smartass told me to do it.”
“You’ll live.”
“No, fuck that. Don’t act like you’ll care about what’ll happen to me. You bring me all this fucking way, don’t say shit, and take me home just to throw me away like this? Where the fuck do you get off on it, huh? What am I supposed to do?”
“Hidan, calm down.”
“Fuck you, don’t tell me to calm down. What the fuck do you think this is? What was the point of letting me come home? You should’ve left me in that goddamn ghost town you forced me into, you son of a bitch!”
If I would have kept going, I might’ve actually thrown punches. Which would’ve sucked because I know he’s stronger than me, and I probably would’ve died. But at this point, is that such a problem? Instead, I stormed my ass up the stairs, and locked myself in the bathroom.
The tears I dreaded found their way down my face. This fucking blows.
I started a bath. The running water didn’t drown out the broken record in my head, though. Submerging myself in the water was the only thing that could relax me at this point. I can sit and think.
What the fuck did I do wrong? Nothing has changed, I’ve stayed the same. Has he gotten tired of me? Can I change his mind? Fuck, I really thought I was fine by myself in college. I didn’t need anyone's approval. I had bitches wrapped around my finger, and people who hated my guts. I was thriving. But now that I’m back home, it’s like I can feel every bad decision I’ve made trying to bang it’s way out of my head. I have a migraine. I want to drown myself. The towels Kaku had stacked in the cabinets smell like a new fabric softener.
I think I know why I’m being cut off.
I wanted to stay in this bathtub all day. I could have, too, if I wasn’t interrupted yet again by the man of the fucking hour.
I kept my sight off of him. My eyes were leveled with the water. Thank God this tub is so spacious. But even with all the space in this whole bathroom, Kakuzu had to sit his ass down at the head of the tub. And what’s worse than that, he was still as silent as he was in the living room. Anger built up in my core like a spreading wildfire- but it suddenly washed away when his hand brushed through my damp hair. This is too much for me, man. What am I supposed to say? I sat on it for a second, trying not to lean into his touch.
“There’s someone else, isn’t there.” No use beating around the bush.
“Now, Hidan, look,”
“No. It’s okay. Things can’t be like they used to be. I know.”
Silence.
“Can you please. just. Leave me alone for right now? I’ll be done soon.”
I couldn’t let him see the tears building up again, so I kept my head bowed. He didn’t argue. He quietly got up, and showed himself out. Now I really wanted to drown myself in this bath.
I got dressed in my old clothes, and made my way into the master bedroom. I knew I’d find him in here. He held his stupid book in front of his face, occupying only one side of his huge bed. Everything in me was warning myself not to crawl up next to him, but my old side was pulling me in like a magnet and calling my name. I couldn’t stop myself.
Sitting beside him hurt. Just like it did when he broke things off the first time.
“Come here.”
Before I knew it, his book was sitting on the end table. His arms hooked me in. A tear fell onto his forearm. It happened so fast, I didn’t know what to do. The pillows behind us supported our weight as we sunk down into them. This embrace. It was warmer than I last remembered it.
Fuck, I’m so conflicted right now.
“I haven’t found someone else.” His voice vibrated through the cheek that rested on my forehead. Maybe it was something I shouldn’t have heard, but god fuckin damn, did it feel good to know that. I let my body relax against his.
“I don’t think I’ll ever find someone again. Not at my age.” We sat in a few moments of silence before he continued. “I have to let you go, Hidan. You need to be your own person. I’ve supported you this far, and I know you’re going to make it a lot farther. The faster you accept it, the easier it’ll be for you. You don’t need me to tell you how to figure it out anymore.”
I don’t want to entertain the thought of that being true. But I know it’s impossible to argue. I felt small. He was my shelter for so fucking long, and it’s about to be taken away forever. Life really isn’t any fucking fair. With all these thoughts, I had nothing I wanted to verbally express. So, he continued.
“You can stay here for the rest of your break. But after that, no more. Do you understand?”
Deidara kissed Hidan like he was starved for the man’s lips. He kissed him like he was the only thing that anchored him to this world– to this moment. He felt as if stopping meant he’d float away into the cold darkness of space. Everything suddenly depended on keeping his lips pressed against Hidan’s– hungry, possessive. He could die right now and he wouldn’t care. This moment was all that mattered and his only regret would be its short life.
There was an indescribable feeling that warmed him like the summer sun. Triumph? Obsession? Affection? A sense of accomplishment or better yet– a sense of Finally or maybe even After all this time.
God. He couldn’t think straight enough to ever hope to figure it out, but he pressed himself closer to the other and kissed him as if his lips held the answers until Hidan himself broke their contact and found a version of the answer Deidara sought.
Barely a breath apart, the blond took this chance to catch his breath, but he swore it was all stolen from his lungs the moment the other spoke.
“All yours..” he acquiesced in a near hum against the other’s lips and over and over again like a promise.
If he could, Hidan would release a blissful sigh of relief. A signal of his truest feelings- the ones he’s repressed for so long- finally resurfacing. But if he did, it would serve as a distraction from kissing the sweetest lips in the world.
The man felt a shift inside of him coming to pass. Their intimate session began with a certain charge- a lustful one. Tight grips and suctioned kisses and hopes for it to bloom into the second round he thought he wanted. But now, it felt more serene. He didn’t want to let Deidara go. Hell, he’d kiss him all night and day if it meant he didn’t have to let go. It was a vaguely familiar feeling that Hidan can’t quite pinpoint at this time.
He kept a hand running through the other man's forest of hair, as if it were the only thing that was keeping him grounded. How long have they been here? Seconds? Minutes? Hidan’s perception of time was warped beyond compare. The only thing holding him back from progressing any further at this point is the slight tremble from his core and upper body. Sure, he has the stamina to keep going- why would he want to stop? But the truth of the matter is this: he was just plain tired.
At this time in the morning, can you blame him?
He began to stray his lips away from the others, slowly. Starting from the corner of Deidara’s delicate mouth, and trailing kisses along his jawline. Once he made it to the tip of the blond’s earlobe, and shifted his position again.
Hidan made himself comfortable in bed laying on his side. The hand that was once entangled within the others hair was now wrapping around his waist, silently suggesting for him to curl into the man's body as the perfect little spoon. He didn’t bother muttering any apologies or explaining his recession. Deidara did said he was all his, after all.
Sleepiness hovered in the back of his mind like a haze that threatened to blanket his senses, but Hidan’s lips against his skin kept him anchored with the growing intensity of his kisses.
He closed his eyes with no intention to fall asleep just yet, but rather to lose himself in what it was like to have someone press their heated lips to every freckle across and up his shoulder, what it was like to feel another’s breath ghost over his skin with every exhalation, and what it was like to know someone wanted him enough to hold him so possessively.
Deidara’s entire body tingled and there were stars in his eyes the moment he opened them as he placed two hands upon Hidan’s cheeks and pulled him away just to get a good look at his face.
Fuck.
Just… F u c k.
He’d never felt this way. He didn’t know anyone could feel this way, but he was running with it. If he had known it would be like this, maybe he would have given in just a little sooner, but this… this was good too. This was great and adrenaline was still kicking around somewhere in his veins and the artist was going to capitalize on it.
“You can have me.” he whispered as soon as he found his voice. Not another moment too soon, Deidara pulled Hidan’s face to his and greedily claimed his lips between his own. Those reverent kisses against his neck were so, so good, but nothing beat kissing him fully like this. It was quite quickly becoming his favorite thing. He worried he was making a mistake, but now wasn’t the time for those thoughts.
Hidan was fully prepared to savor the feast that is the other man's silken skin for however long he was allowed. Only, he thought the time limit would come a bit later than this instant. The brisk sensation of Deidara's fingers pulling the man’s face toward his own was unexpected. And when he took a moment just to look at him- with no other action attached- Hidan felt strangely exposed.
Luckily, the feeling was short-lived. When his gaze met the other’s bright baby blues, his expression fell into a lavish smirk. A smile, in fact. One he couldn’t quite feel forming, but was painfully aware of due to the numbness of his cheeks. When Deidara finally spoke, however, that was the final blow. It wasn’t a hit- but more of a liquid happiness that poured into his abdomen and made him feel warm from the inside out.
Holy shit. Who knew Deidara could make him feel this weak?
The artist stole the moment by clashing Hidan’s lips into his own. He’s starting to grow fond of Dei initiating these things. His eyes were shut, but he swore he could still see the light the other man was so gifted at producing. He adjusted their position so that he could properly hold Deidara in his arms, and let the action blissfully play out.
This time, he let himself follow the lead he was given. He thought on the words the artist spoke. ‘You can have me’ played on a loop in his mind all the while kissing and nipping at the man underneath him, until he was finally met with a response he needed to get out.
“Good.” He spoke less than an inch away from the others mouth. “Because now you’re all mine.”
He went back in for more heated kisses, stroking away at Deidara’s mane. He didn’t think much on whether these words were empty or not. But in the moment, he couldn’t stop himself from using them.
Deidara settled under the covers almost awkwardly as he tried to gauge how much space he was taking up, but the odd sensation of being stared at distracted him and brought his gaze to meet Hidan’s.
The man’s eyes took in his appearance, hair loose and everywhere, figure concealed by the baggy, worn-out shirt he picked and still, the silvery man’s gaze was almost as reverent as it had been when earlier that evening. It made his heart do a thing in his chest and he found he couldn’t hold that gaze anymore, but a small, tired smirk quirked the corners of his lips nonetheless.
As the other’s hand fell upon his shoulder, the blond’s gaze followed it. The softness of his fingers as he brushed his hair back to place a kiss to his skin filled him with an indescribable warmth. Deidara was, by no means, a soft or cheesy, but there was something so incredibly satisfying in this brand of gentle touch.
A contented hum left the artist as his nerve endings followed the sensation of trailing fingers down his body until the man’s impossibly warm touch finally stopped at his hip.
He was pulled from appreciative thoughts and general awe by the other’s words.
“Me? Why me?” he asked quietly as his own hand came up to curiously run fingers down the man’s cheek. It was an involuntary action, but it felt appropriate and he was too sleepy to think twice about it.
This moment right here is probably the most serene Hidan had ever witnessed the other man. Besides the times when he’s focused on his art, or steadily placing an explosive- having Deidara clutched this close without the sensation of his shaky nerves was all too satisfying. The subtle vibrations produced from the question hummed against the man’s lips. And the dainty hand on his cheek encouraged him to go on.
So he did. Hidan trailed deeper kisses up the other’s neck. Selfishly taking his time with some more than others, he could have forgotten to answer completely. Did it really need a response? He saw no harm in leaving the question hanging. But, the answer was lined in the velvety cave that was his mouth as he hungrily, yet softly, made it to Deidara’s jaw.
Hidan’s nose lightly brushed the side of his face, in perfect contrast of the tightening grip still attached to the artists hip. He pulled himself closer as he finally replied,
“For finally letting me have you.”
The silvery man truly was a nighttime romantic after the storm. It’s prolonging the ecstasy they felt while they were in the moment. With your senses so heightened, there’s no reason not to take advantage of it. Despite the fact that it’s been a while since they actually did it, those hormonal pangs were still kicking inside his core. And he was going to milk this out to the very last drop.
Was it weird to avert his eyes as Hidan got dressed? He’d seen the man naked and then some… Still, his blue eyes dropped down to stare at his feet although he definitely stole a glance or two. There was something attractive in the composition of the image that entered his mind.
There he stood, his back shrouded in darkness, but the edges of his body were illuminated by the breaking dawn in the sky like an odd sort of subdued halo effect.
For a moment, he debated whether or not to sleep in the clothes he wore now or take the man up on his offer to borrow something to be comfortable in. In the end, he decided skinny jeans were never comfortable to sleep in and he moved over to the dresser.
Like he’d seen Hidan do on laundry days, he pulled open the drawer he knew to contain t-shirts and wasted no time in picking the first one his hand grazed.
Pulling his own shirt over his head, Deidara soon replaced it with the one he picked out and was reminded of just how slight his frame was. Hidan wasn’t necessarily a big, hulking beast of a man, but he was broader than the blond. Still, he couldn’t complain. This was definitely a comfortable change from the tightness of his own clothes, he decided as he kicked off his shoes and pants.
Quietly, he made his way over to the bed and carefully crawled in– desperate to keep from jostling the other too much and be considered a nuisance for any lack of grace.
He was continuously reminded of the fact that this would not be the first time he slept in Hidan’s bed, but he hoped to god, or whatever omnipotent being was dictating his ridiculous life, that things would not end the same.
“Thanks..” he muttered almost meekly– a strong juxtaposition to the confidence he exuded mere moments ago in his reckless, death defying maneuvering of their stolen vehicle and the way he proceeded to then steal the license plates as a means of covering their tracks and keeping a memento of sorts.
Hidan was too distracted by the mundane cyber world to notice whatever Dei was doing to prepare for bed. The silent shuffles from the dresser to his bed were nearly undetected until he felt the subtle shift in weight under the covers. Downcasted eyes veer up to see, what can only be described as, a truly blessed image.
The sight of Deidara in his clothes always had a way of raising goose bumps on the silvery man. Even now, wearing an old and worn out T-Shirt that hardly ever gets to see the light of day, it was pleasing. Hell, it was even kind of sexy. He scanned the blond’s figure while he settled under the sheets. Biting back a hungry smirk, Hidan wanted to weigh his options in his head.
It would be so easy to initiate something again. It was so simple back in the car when they were chock full of adrenaline and mindless energy. But it’s incredibly tiring. They were both exhausted. And Deidara is also known for being harshly temperamental- especially in situations like this. What if it ruins the mood for tonight? It’s not like it ended awkwardly or anything, right? Unless it did, and he’s just too blind to notice…
As these thoughts leisurely crossed his mind, Hidan’s hand had already found a place atop the smaller man’s shoulder blade. He raked off any loose strands of hair, and planted a kiss upon a small exposed section of the others freckled skin.
“Thank me?” With his lips still lightly pressed against Deidara, the tips of his fingers and nails trailed down the length of the artists arm, and eventually found a resting place gripping the shallow dip of his hip.
He’s been in here before, he knows this, and he’s spent the night before as well– on the couch, on the floor, even in his bed (although he’d rather not think about that night). Even knowing all of that, there’s a sudden thrill in the pit of his stomach as Hidan leads them into his dorm. This time is different– not by much, but by just enough and the hand that gently slips down to rest against the small of his back raises just enough goosebumps to remind him of just how different things are this time around.
He’s so focused on the warmth spreading from Hidan’s hand on his back that the sudden slam of the room’s door startles him enough to widen his his eyes and bring a gasp from his lips.
Hidan is quick to remind Deidara to remain silent. He has to remind himself everyone else has been asleep for a while and it’d be a shame to wake them all up now.
Still, it’s hard to think of others and of being quiet when all he can think of is the man pulling him close and leaning down to whisper– low and unintentionally (or perhaps intentionally) sultry.
God, he could just kiss him right here and now… but he didn’t. No, he remained paralyzed in that spot– paralyzed by all his options, or perhaps he was just that tired and overwhelmed with the night. Regardless of the rhyme or reason, it was only temporary and he felt his cheeks flare up ever so slightly as Hidan pressed a kiss to the side of his head.
The action was oddly tender and nearly enough to melt the blond down to a puddle, but simultaneously enticing, especially as he pulled away and sauntered into his room without another word, let alone an invitation for the artist to join him. Even so, he knew intrinsically, that it was a clearer invitation than any other spoken word.
So he followed him into his room– guided mostly by a false sense of confidence gained by sleeplessness.
His eyes adjusted to the darkness as he grabbed the door and pulled it– slowly backing up against it until it closed with a soft click.
Hidan didn’t bother turning the lights on. The dim glow of sunlight was beginning to pour into the room, and he knew the space well enough to successfully navigate around the shadowed void. So much so, he closed the curtains in order to avoid anymore brightness from intruding.
Sleep called out to him; wrapping around his achy bones and desperately weighing down his eyelids. The man made his way back to his dresser and stripped off his shoes, pants, and shirt. Careless hands rustled around for any T-Shirt he could find in the first drawer. It wasn’t until he finally pulled it over his head that he heard the sound of the door closing. Whether his mind was off somewhere else, or the other was just so quiet, he did not hear Deidara entering the room.
Hidan grabbed his phone from the pocket of his disheveled jeans, and retreated to his bed. While settling into the covers, he addressed the blond from across the room.
“If you need to borrow anything, knock yourself out.” He motioned over to the dresser, although it was probably pointless considering how dark the room was.
He then took a minute to fix the sheets on his bed. In hindsight, he should have actually made the bed before leaving this morning. But, how was he supposed to know this would happen tonight?
Once the bed was deemed ‘good enough’, he propped himself up with a pillow. As long as Deidara is comfortable for the rest of the night- as long as he doesn’t screw anything up- then they’re set. He scrolled down his phone, distracting himself until the other was ready to join him.
Hidan only let out a slight snicker in agreement to what McCree was asking. No use losing this energy on an actual answer. He helped the other man sloppily slide off his jeans, trying to maintain a balance of staying in motion and keeping their lips locked.
It was like every time the cowboy spoke, it threw Hidan off. It’s weird to not be the one in control. This old-but-new territory wasn’t exactly registering with him as fast as he had hoped, but he was able to go with the flow. You know what the say, fake it til you make it. Although he wasn’t planning on faking anything tonight. He truly was attracted to the guy, there's no doubting that. But, at the same time, there was still someone else burning through his mind-
“Not at all.” He hummed in a low tone beneath the top.
Hidan put up no resistance to McCree’s strong hands pulling of his pants. He helped him out by sitting up and slithering out of the stretchy material. His arms floated back up to the broad shoulders that were once holding him down. He began a trail of kisses from the mans mouth, down to his neck and collar bones. They traveled down his toned core and finally stopped beneath his belly button.
Hidan traced above the seam of the mans underwear with his tongue. Gliding along his skin and stopping to kiss each hip bone, not quite going under the fabric just yet. He took the elastic band into his mouth, and brought his violet eyes to meet McCree’s before going any further- waiting for some kind of assurance to continue.
Hidan smirked and Deidara’s heart lurched. It felt like it had just done a flip within the confines of his ribcage and it left him breathless all the same to feel the taller man intertwine their fingers and run his thumb along the top of his hand. It raised goosebumps across his arms– of which he was just as hyper-aware of as everything else in this moment.
He was smitten.
It was a realization that hit him with the suddenness and intensity of a freight train and he felt like an idiot, but for once he didn’t care. His cheeks were warm and his cold fingers were warmer. So many thoughts, ideas, sensations, feelings, etc., buzzed in his mind like a dull roar– none of which he had the energy to give much attention to, but there was a newfound spring in his step nonetheless.
So spacey was he that he almost missed what Hidan had just said.
All he had to offer to that was an awkward “Yeah, me too.” in agreement.
At this point, he was so tired that he didn’t quite feel tired at all, but rather, he felt invincible. Now, that could be remnants of the night’s adventures in general, but the lack of sleep he was currently experiencing could also still be a factor in this. Maybe. But if he crawled into bed, snuggled up under warm covers… maybe next to Hidan… maybe he’d fall asleep.
Maybe he wouldn’t.
Would he even want to?
Being in the same bed as Hidan seemed like too good of an opportunity to pass now that he’d gotten past his irrational fear of sexual intimacy. He felt like he could go at it all night. He felt like an energized rabbit– ready to go.
The dormitories were finally peeking out from the horizon, as were the peachy clouds preparing for the rising sun. The setting, like his mind, was serene. It would have been even more beautiful if Hidan could actually keep his eyes open to see it. The journey, though not long, has helped the man realize just how tired he really is.
The muscles in his legs were a bit tighter than usual. The cramped space paired with holding the weight of the eager blond was not so forgiving. It isn’t so bad, though. Every step serves as a reminder of their death defying night out- and their risque celebration. Risking your life takes a lot out of you. As fun as it all was, Hidan was ready to finally get some rest.
He pulled the keys out of his pocket as they approached the dorm. He gradually let the door swing open; the last thing he needed right now is his nosey roommate coming out and disturbing the peace. He led Deidara inside, removing his hand from the others. Instead, it found a new place occupying the small of the blonds slender back.
He leaned against the door, forcing it to slam shut. The sound struck a quick wince from the man.
“Shh,” Still holding onto Dei, he pulled him in closer. With his mouth only centimeters away from the others ear, he continued to whisper. “Don’t wanna wake anyone up now.”
The devious act of a whisper, so close he can feel the warmth of others skin, was inexplicably enticing. The feelings from before were rapidly flooding back. It would be so easy to just do it all over again. He could whisk Deidara back to his room and show him more of the world he’s been missing out on. Exhausted or not, there's always that last bit of energy hidden away in your core. That little voice screaming, ‘one more time’, ‘one more time’. Just the thought was enough in this moment to excite him.
But, he’s decided to let it linger. For now, at least. Hidan wanted to leave it off right here, hoping it would leave Dei craving more. He seemed to like the first time, after all. And now that they’ve reached this checkpoint, he has all the time in the world to make another move. He felt powerful.
From their close position, Hidan planted a firm kiss to Dei’s temple, and retreated to his bedroom. No invitation for the other man to join, besides the open door. Leave them wanting more.
The anticipation was nearly killing Deidara. Was it a stupid thing to ask?
Senseless?
Pointless?
But when Hidan answered the surge of excitement that zipped through the artist was almost enough to re-energize him. How was Hidan so calm about this? Did it come with doing this kind of thing for the hundredth time? Maybe a part of Deidara was still insecure…
He found a distraction from his thoughts in the silvery man’s playful jab and his expression shifted to a tired look of amusement. The kind of look that said ‘Really?’ without really saying anything.
A small snort escaped him as he shook his head and walked off ahead of the other.
Hidan’s room was still a ways away and the path they were taking was one the blond took with frequency, but he never realized just how long of a walk it was until now. The two were quiet and Deidara didn’t know if he should chalk it up to them being tired or not, but the silence was almost stifling. There was something unspoken hanging between them… Could the other feel the tension too? Was it just him?
It was almost too much. It was like a loaded spring– a mess of potential energy itching, burning, dying to be unleashed. God, why did he want to kiss Hidan every time he glanced at the taller man? He wanted to touch him and be touched by him. Something, anything.. everything?…
The tips of his fingers twitched..
What if he just.. reached out?
grabbed his hand?…
then what?
What was appropriate?
What wasn’t?
What would Hidan think?
What was he thinking right now?
These thoughts of ‘should I/shouldn’t I?’ were raging in his mind and as it usually did, it culminated into one impulsive movement that was slow enough to stop, but impossible to do so once he set his hand in motion.
Without saying anything– without so much as glancing at the other, Deidara slid his hand into Hidan’s and continued forward. All the while, his body was buzzing with mingled excitement and anxiety that crackled within him like electricity.
Taking a chance, he glanced at the other through the corner of his eye and couldn’t help the way the corners of his lips twitched upwards into the smallest fraction of a smile.
Hidan travelled to his own rhythm. He wasn’t consciously disregarding the person walking beside him, but something about it was comfortably familiar. He was fine resting in it. He figured there was no use keeping up an empty conversation- and there's nothing worse than forcing small talk. So, the silvery man’s mind wandered off into meaningless trains of thought, and his own personal reflection of the night's events.
He was proud. He was surprised. He can live in this post-ecstasy headspace forever. The only thing that can make this night even better is if they happened to fall into a round two. Or three. Or four…. or….
Hidan was cut off by sensation of cold fingers sliding into his own. It came as a pleasant surprise. Was Deidara actually making this move? His face showed no reaction, other than lidded eyes locating their now intertwined hands. His gaze slowly drifted upward to meet the crystal baby blue’s that were steadily locked on him.
That look. It gave him all the power in the world. Hidan broke the contact from their eyes, and instead gripped the smaller man's hand firm in his. Running a thumb lightly atop the others resulted in his own devious-yet-nonchalant smirk to appear.
A blanket of pride, and satisfaction, and tension surrounded the man. He was antsy, but afraid of making it obvious. His mouth opened as if he had something to say, but the words were stuck in the back of his throat. He didn’t want to say anything stupid and ruin the moment.
“Damn” he spoke anyway, desperate to break the tension. “I feel like I should be tired after all of that. But I’m still wide awake.”
He reached into a pocket and fished out the keys to his room. Restless fingers jingled the keys, making an equally as high-spirited tune. In reality, he was exhausted; but Deidara doesn’t have to know that.
The dorms were coming up on the horizon, and there was nothing Hidan wanted more than to lay in his bed and replay the night in his dreams. Having Dei curled up next to him didn’t sound too bad, either....
Again, the changes this dude was going through was starting to concern McCree, it was like he was with two different people…gotta keep it slow.

Hidan’s eyes fluttered shut as he deepened the kiss McCree laid on him. Both hands found a place around the others neck and back, desperately tugging his velveteen hair. Suddenly, Hidan was no longer afraid of overthinking this situation. It was unraveling so naturally. So much so, he continued to knead their lips together between the cowboys words.
Without a word of his own, Hidan shifted his weight over toward the bed. He tried to keep their kiss intact while easing himself onto his back. The hands that were once gentle grew stronger as he guided McCree on top of him. The crash of their lips became stronger, too, as Hidan was beginning to grow impatient with this foreplay. He wanted to get to the racy bits as soon as possible; and now is as good of a time as ever to spice things up.
Hidan caught McCree’s bottom lip between his teeth and tugged on it- not light enough to be forgotten, but not harsh enough to break skin. While doing so, he grinded his hips against the others, finding pleasure in the erection he knew he had created. One, however, was too much of a tease for him. Once they had resumed making out, the bucks became more and more frequent.
Quiet moans rung out from his own mouth to McCree’s. This was nice. If this were the only thing they did tonight, then Hidan would be okay with it. But... how would that affect his reputation? If he said he’s here to show this cowboy a good time, then damnit, he’s going to show him a good time. Nimble fingers traveled down to the other man’s belt buckle, and carefully started to pry it open.
Hidan paced back and forth in his tight dorm room. He felt like he was suffocating. Each step was infused with fire, leaving an electronic trail behind. His mind was so overwhelmed it might as well begin to sizzle. He wanted to ignore the severity of this reaction, but the knots in his stomach were dense enough to explode any second.
Hidan is panicking.
Just minutes ago he was given the the most pivotal news of his life; he was going to become a father. Not only did he accidentally get Rapunzel pregnant, but, she refused to listen to the man's idea of a way out. Now he’s stuck. A broke college student without a real home of his own is going to have to become responsible for a new life.
His chest is tight. Are his lungs getting enough oxygen?
Not only is this situation scary on it’s own, but it also goes against his religion. The whole reason he came to school was to focus on Jashinism. He can’t create life, it’s against the commandments! With Rapunzel kicking him out of her dorm, he’s forced to isolate himself in his room and think, and think, and think about this dreadful circumstance.
It’s not like he has anyone to open up to. He couldn’t tell Kakuzu- it’d risk his entire college funding being taken away. And there’s no way he could tell Deidara. After the night they had recently…. what would he say? Not that it’s possible, since he hasn’t been able to reach out him, anyway. That’s a whole other can of worms that does not need to be opened right now.
There’s only one person he can go to about this. The only person who would listen to his problem, and give it to him straight.
He opened his phone, and typed a quick message to Kyoko.
