ooc: a new EstLiet blog has pretty much reblogged all of my old stuff for the ship. Interesting. What’s more interesting is everything of mine, whether it’s from laulev-revolutsioon, freedomborn, or here, is all tagged ‘Becca’. Either the person who runs the blog knows me or I’m infamous.

“I am fine with it. I am looking forward to spending time with you.” Toris felt his English slip a little with his nerves, his hand sweating slightly in Eduard’s. He could tell that the other was nervous too, and it comforted him a little to think that he wasn’t alone. Eduard had always done that for him; made him feel like he wasn’t entirely alone.
Toris follower the other, linking his arm more closely in Eduard’s. He loved the closeness, as well as the beauty of their surroundings; he would have to tell Eduard more often how beautiful his countryside was. “It is beautiful here, Eduard.” He glanced around him, looking up to meet the other’s eyes.
Toris was determined to make this work. After so much time, it had to happen; he couldn’t let the nation pass him by.
As they walked, Eduard began to realize how difficult it was to find things to talk about. He really wasn’t as experienced with dates as he sometimes pretended to be, and now that he was here he was beginning to realize just how bad he was at the whole thing. But they were both warming up to it, it seemed, and Toris was being extremely patient with him, as he always was.
The younger nation couldn’t hide a light blush at the compliment. He took pride in his home, but it wasn’t always something to be appreciated by others. “Thank you,” he managed to respond. Now they were locked in eye-contact, and in that moment Eduard finally came to accept his feelings. Yes, he was most definitely crushing on the brunet, and with the few minutes that they had spent so shyly together so far, he felt so much more sure of himself.
This date would go fine, he decided to himself as they approached the restaurant. He held the door open for the other when they arrived, and very soon they were seated at a table by the window. There was so much to talk about now that they were seated, but before he attempted to speak, Eduard wanted to see if Toris had anything to say first.

“That sounds like it will be nice…” he turned to wait for the other, glancing to see if Eduard had gotten a coat. Maybe they should stop for a moment and check that everything was ready? If Leks was here they could say hello, or.. just leave straight away. He gave Eduard’s hand a squeeze.
“I would love to dance with you, Eduard, if you are comfortable with that?” He looked up at the other, his cheeks colouring slightly.
“Oh yeah, yeah. I’m comfortable with it. I just wanted to make sure that you were. I mean... yeah.” He offered a smile, realizing that standing him stammering over what the plans may or may not be wasn’t going to get them very far.
So instead of babbling on, with a shy little smile, Eduard started to walk. That was the nice thing about where he lived: there were plenty of places that were walking distance, and this would be a good time to start getting comfortable with each other’s company before they sat down to eat.
But in the back of his mind he was still hoping to god that he wouldn’t screw this up.

At the feeling of Eduard’s lips on his hand, Toris felt a warm feeling spread through him. He felt his cheeks redden slightly, but struggled to keep the colour down; he couldn’t betray how badly he wanted the other in his arms, or how badly he wanted to be kissing him. He let his hand drop, glancing at the other, hesitant at first to meet his eyes before beaming at him. Again he offered his hand, but this time he slipped it into the other’s, indicating that they should go. He nodded slightly, the hint of a smile appearing on his lips.
“..Taip.. Where are you taking me to, Eduard?”
“I was thinking we could go out to eat; there’s a quiet little restaurant that’s conveniently nearby a dance that’s being held tonight... I mean we don’t have to dance, of course, but if you’re up for it I think it would be fun to at least see what’s going on over there.”
As much as he wanted to dance with Toris, that would definitely be coming on too strong. But perhaps if the dinner went well...

Toris was sure he would come off as too excited, so following the open of the door he stood still, staring at the other for a moment in nervous panic. Doing his best to calm down, he managed a weak smile, reaching out to grip one of Eduard’s hands. “Labas, Eduard.”
Somehow despite the excitement of this event, both seemed more or less composed. And then Toris reached out to take his hand. A handshake, obviously, but with the level of nervous energy, Eduard seemed to momentarily forget what he was supposed to do. thoughtlessly, he pulled the other’s hand to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to his fingers before dropping his hand. He wondered after the gesture why he had done that, but maybe it didn’t matter. It could have meant anything, or nothing at all. Hopefully Toris wouldn’t take it the wrong way.
“Are you ready to go?”

Nervously, Toris tapped twice on Eduard’s door, standing still while he waited for the other to answer. As usual, he expected that Leks would be there; he looked forward to seeing the brunette, but his attention tonight was all focused on Eduard. He had waited for this day for more than 70 years, and he wasn’t about to mess it up now.

Eduard ran to the door eagerly at the sound of the knock, having to stand still for a few seconds to regain his composure before he answered. He didn’t want to come off as too excited, but he was definitely looking forward to this. The date was probably going to sound tacky, but he hoped that dinner and a dance wouldn’t be too much. They didn’t have to dance of course, but the atmosphere of the event was going to be fun regardless, so he was sure that the other wouldn’t mind.
Finally he opened the door, and a smile spread across his face when he met the eyes of the older country. “Hey Toris,” he greeted, suddenly realizing that he had no dialogue prepared.
Leks you are beautiful and amazing.
