Egon Schiele Summer Landscape, Krumau 1917
Lies have long legs: they are ahead of their time. The conversion of all questions of truth into questions of power, a process that truth itself cannot escape if it is not to be annihilated by power, not only suppresses truth as in earlier despotic orders, but has attacked the very heart of the distinction between true and false, which the hirelings of logic were in any case diligently working to abolish. So Hitler, of whom no one can say whether he died or escaped, survives.

never trust a childhood dentist who slaps your face and tells you to shut up when you're scared or start to cry
Did we go to the same dentist….?
I don’t know what country the anon is from, but in the US that is a criminal offense. It varies by state what the specific charge is, but it is always a crime. Hitting a person is illegal with very few exceptions, and the exceptions are pretty much “none” when the victim is a child. In some states a parent is allowed to hit their own child, and a few allow school admins to do so, but there are none where a doctor, nurse, etc are allowed. The “trust” isn’t an issue - the person has commited a very serious crime.
Daily reminder that Obama personally ordered the targetted assassination by drone strike of a 16 year old kid who was an American citizen without charge or trial, simply because his father was suspected of being a terrorist.
Don’t forget the Obama administration tried to justify it after the fact.
And that kid’s 8 year old sister was recently killed in a commando raid sent by President Trump. Small world.
Developmentally and intellectually disabled adults are adults. A 30 year old developmentally disabled person has 30 years of thoughts and experiences behind them and that is regardless of whether they have the abilities and the behavior of a neurotypical adult. You shouldn’t invalidate the fact that they have lived 30 years by saying that they “have the mind of a two year old”. They may be unable to live up to neurotypical standards for what a 30 year old should be able to do, but they don’t have the mind of a neurotypical child - they have the mind of a developmentally/intellectually disabled adult.

Ruby Dee - The artist and activist
FOR A GENEROUS slice of her long life, there were two places you’d surely find actress Rudy Dee — she was always at center stage in acting and political activism, and she was always in Harlem.
Though born in Ohio, the actress, who died June 11, spent much of her 91 years in the famous Manhattan neighborhood she called home. And while her words and actions reverberated around the globe, her roots were firmly planted in Harlem.
Throughout their careers, Dee and her actor-activist husband, Ossie Davis, “focused evermore on that which was happening in Harlem.”

so this is literally part of what’s happening in the US right now
If you are originally from one of the countries in Trump’s ban and moved to the US, got greencards, and decided to go on a vacation recently, you won’t be allowed back in the US. Permanent residents are being effectively kicked out.
Lemme just say that again. You could have lived in the US for years, possibly moved here as a child and grown up here, and been vacationing in fucking Canada, and you won’t be allowed back. All because you were born in a country trump deemed dangerous.
You guys. If you came to the US from one of the listed countries as an INFANT, grew up here, and decided to study abroad this semester in another country, YOU CURRENTLY CANT COME BACK HOME.
If you are MARRIED to a US citizen and only have a green card and haven’t gotten citizenship yet, you can’t come back if you’re outside the US. You could have kids waiting for you, but you can’t come back.
People who served our country for over a decade, people whose lives are at risk if they head back to the middle east, people fleeing violence and death, a mother coming back to her family from a business trip, and some kid coming back from visiting their grandparents could all be currently sitting in detaining rooms in US airports because our xenophobic piece of shit president is scared of Muslims.
