I'm at lunch for my great grandfather's 90th birthday, but we didn't reserve enough tables for all of us to fit at the high top, and I've been demoted to the kid's booth along with my brother(9), cousins(21 and 30something), the cousin's girlfriend, and the older cousin's wife and kid.

So now I'm over here pouting at the kid's table with my teddy grahms-

why I don't sleep, part 3

When I was younger, I don't know exactly when, I had dreams of a woman. The dreams felt like reality. In the dream, I was about to fall asleep, but this woman appeared in my room. She was beautiful, and she looked like my own mother. She had a scar where her mouth should have been, stitches poking out. The would stand in my room and bang her head against the wall for hours on end, then turn to me. She'd walk closer, right to the edge of my bed, her face inches from mine. Then every stitch would pop, her mouth opening and her eyes going compl black. Then darkness consumed my dream, and I woke up.

why I don't sleep, part 2

This dream I only had once, but the memories of it stuck permanently. I was about the same age as when the previous dream portrayed past me. I was about 5. In my dream, I was wearing a purple disney frozen themed nightgown. There was this little blonde girl, about the same age as I was. She was covered in dirt. This one dream lasted months. It came back night after night. This girl and I became good friends as we played in my dream for hours on end. The last night I had this dream, it felt real. The girl wasn't there, but there was this noise coming from outside my window. I wanted to look, so I moved across my bed to the window where the noise was coming from. Before I was able to lift the blinds, the girl appeared between me and the window, but she was different. Her back was turned to me untill she spoke. Her words still haunt me. The way she spoke, her distorted voice and she way her voice was almost a whisper. She turned around, showing empty eye sockets and sickening amounts of blood. She said “Don't.” She put a hand on my shoulder, and I remember it sent shivers throughout my entire body. “It'll take yours too.”

why I don't sleep, part 1

Since I was about nine, I've had this dream. Around the same time, every month, this dream comes back. Each time more vivid than the last. It's always in the 3rd person. I'm watching myself sleep, but it's always a younger me. Around 4 or 5. Two faceless people are fighting around my old room as I sleep, one covered in bandages and two different colored eyes. The other was a white glowing figure. The two would fight for hours, the glowing one protecting me while the other tried to hurt me. He always had the same knife. It was one I recognized as one from the knife block in our kitchen. If the bandaged man succeeded in cutting me with the knife, I'd have a light scratch or scar in that exact place when I woke up.The dream would only end when my alarm goes off, or someone wakes me. I'd never be able to wake up on my own. I haven't had this dream again since September 16, 2021
