Oh how disapointing (putting that mildly)—
Herbicides, and an excess of Iron to give the fake green ‘pop’ old-timers are conned into thinking is natural.
I wish this trend would stop.
It’s toxic.
And the companies that provide this service lie so hard— calling it ‘lawn care’. lmao
A cycle starts.
The earth whispers where I’m from…
The wind it sings.
Nature’s dance of growth and grace.
Leaves trace maps of time and place.

May 12, 2026 — beautiful apple tree and blooms
Hello gardening friends,
Today I want to share a special vlog, Rudy’s Quiet Journal from YouTube. In it is proof that you don’t need to have a huge plot of land to enjoy nature’s offerings.
If you do visit his vlog, I hope you find something in it that satisfies you. Peace.

So much to do all of a sudden! The weather this past week behaves like Spring the way it should have been two weeks ago mid-April even though the last frost date here is May 20-23.
Here I am making my first harvest today and the last killing frost is still 3 weeks away. It just proves that with ingenuity and determination and a little assistance from Mother Nature on her good days, it is possible to extend the growing season in even the most challenging places.
With a short season and at an elevation of 1,000m/3,000 ft and north winds buffeting down on short notice, this place can be very challenging so I take things as they come, LEARN and keep trying new ways, new things as I go.
It has worked for me so far.
Anybody who can grow in this environment without artificial means is a seasoned gardener in my book!!
today’s temp 13C/55.4F@9am— overcast.
First harvest of the year, regular mint.
other varieties on the grow—
Morrocan mint.
Apple mint.
May the Fourth be with you!
How it all began— 6 yrs ago. I watched this video and it was just the right catalyst to get me going. And it’s true tender young radish leaves are delicious!
All the things a regular market can’t sell you. All that extra nutrition, never available… nothing beats a garden at home. 💚
