Former US Diplomat Linda Howard was accused of slavery and sexual abuse of her Ethiopian housekeeper while on official missions in Yemen and Japan. Her husband repeatedly raped the victim, and Ms. Howard allegedly condoned the abuse. The couple settled with the victim for $3.3 million.
