“Saint, just slow down.” She realizes she might have said too much in the span of a few minutes. Then it’s only fair when she’s discovering exactly what stood out about him. Of course she had a feeling things weren’t exactly usual with him. That didn’t prepare her for this. Then it must be why she’s taking it so well. Much better than any other human would; he probably hasn’t even picked up on that. He’s too invested in on persuading her to accept his mark. What it would mean is obvious. She’d be his in an official capacity despite them being together already. That could prove a problem without formalities. “I know you want to do this for us. To show that I’m your mate, yes?” Easing him with words would only go so far but Jade reached up to slide fingers along his cheekbones. Settling to cupping his face in her hands, her eyes met his with both a gentle and yet firm stance.

A terrible time to interrupt him on a schedule; he visibly appeared aloof to the whole request. Why in the hell should he entertain that blowhard? Isn’t it enough he began a detrimental analysis that led to nowhere? Harold’s the one who listens to people’s woes. Taking into account their concerns lent an ear to trauma from someone who has personally experienced his own trauma. What more to ask for in a healthy therapy session? The practice of Dr. Edwin Deacon is a disgrace to the name of psychiatry.

“I’m sorry but I operate in an actual professional capacity,” he dismissed Sharon with such nonchalance one might think he’s divulging the current weather. “Not run a sideshow where my patients are the starring act. You can tell Dr. Deacon I said that. Now if you’d be so kind to take those files off my desk. I have my four o’clock coming in.” She blinked a moment before stepping out just in time for aforementioned patient. He noticed her hovering outside and made a motion to for her to come in. “Hello, Miss Gray. I see you’re on time. Come in. Ignore Sharon. "Brutality has a way of making a point. Wouldn't you agree?" Jackson's question came as a means of scoping out not only their scene but those he is working against. He was told he could have an eye for detail. The sort of thing a man who might dabble in psychology has. How people respond to tragedy, death and all manner of ill gotten events. His mother and father wanted him to study that. Not become a 'beat cop' as they put it. Guess his penchant for delving into minds of murderers offers an insight while working on cases of this magnitude.

"Well, you'd think our killer was clever wouldn't you?" The detective posed the query while moving closer towards their strung up victim. "Removing it on purpose? Can't have been NOT on him. Making our job harder." Carefully calculated always runs the gamut of premeditated coordination. A lot more sinister in murders. "Whoever he is," he paused, hovering near the tape marker, "Certainly pissed someone off."

Jackson pointed to Raymond after a beat. "I want access to your forensic unit. Chief said you'd be willing. So as much as it might pain you or others in your department. We have to work together. Jackson stuck to his usual ride through scenic Beverly Hills. A hop away from Hollywood buzzing through every notable strip he can dictate to memory. Much as he dictates every person with every petty charge who passes through on a daily basis. He's coolly collected himself from mundane modus operandi to downright devilish undertakings. It's a helluva change. Sometimes a ride and a half to hell. Depending on what they're dealing with and tonight he's removed a route to the outer district. Anybody who needs to talk to him in the market can wait. He's had enough for one day. An entire one he can drink out of his head if he had a good brand of scotch to nurse at home. The detective pulled up to said residence, chewing his wad of gum to destress. As is normal. He quit smoking a year ago but still there's a habit. Gotta have something to occupy his mouth like a tic he can't get wipe away. Didn't occupy enough to stop peripheral picking up somebody nearby. Work has its ups and downs. Today practically buried her. Heading out after work for a drink is a perfect form of relaxation. At least in Gloria’s mind it will give her a chance to unwind. One. Sip. Lucking out the way she did made it possible to do a little splurging on herself. She does get enough in a paycheck working with her friend of all people but she’s come up from the casual world of cheap wine coolers. It’s always nice to have a taste of goodness. Often she found herself at the mercy of paparazzi and the media. The tell tale signs of a slow news day in her opinion. Where she comes from her opinion means a lot. A famous face. A natural talent. She's all the rage in the sphere of golden statues and forever faces on screen. They all try to pick her apart. Another piece will chip off and fall right into their laps for some press money. Digging into her personal life seems to take the cake. They wonder who she's dating constantly. Even rumors about her with her agent but as far as she's concerned they'll never get any truth out of it.

Yet when she steps out to have time to herself, engage with the world as everyone else, Emeline always finds herself caught up in something unexpected. She just can't help herself. Especially when she notices them in this store. They are a familiar face actually. One she's not too keen on the longer she watches. It clicks in her brain. And before she realizes she's already approaching them. "You," she said abruptly, bordering on rude. The blonde offers a smile to cover it. "I know you don't I? Or rather YOU know Landon Wynter. Is that right?"

One might think a secret like this would drive away a person. A monstrous skeleton in the closet that every other woman may take as a means to run, never look back and end it right there. Except this isn't as shocking as it is somehow expected. She's been here far longer than she'd like to admit. What that means in the grand scheme of things remains to be seen but there are always laws. The doctrines of where she comes from hold onto particular values. Becoming involved with a human man is bad enough in the eyes of those courts. But a werewolf?

"Saint," she spoke his name with an inflection of authority in place of tenderness this time around. The same tone she used back where she's originally from; she let it slip out, pulling away slightly. Only enough to put some distance between them because this is more complicated than he knows. "Do you really believe I would ever breathe a word against you in any way?" If he feels this than what is that to say about them? Perhaps it's his reasoning for attempting to make her agree to this mark. It's not the same for her. Who knows exactly what it would mean or what it might do to him.

"You know how I've felt about things. Our time together. And - it's something I never expected to happen." Distant memories almost fade off back in her home realm. She's here for a purpose and most would see Santiago as an obstacle. Something in the way. "I DO care. That's why I - I can't let you do that. Jackson took in this scene like a proper soap opera. The supposed accused who walled herself up finally letting it all show is a sight to see. She’s not putting on an act. She’s genuinely upset. Maybe even a little bitter but then the detective’s seen worse come his way. Wynter seems hell bent on having her here so he can’t argue. This case needs an ending. A statement is what he came for and if he’s got to sit here while he runs facts with his girlfriend in bed with him that’s how it’s gonna be. He can’t help but think of Phaedra. If something ever happened to him on the job what she’d do? Would she come see him? Their relationship right now isn’t exactly on. Never did stop him from deciding to keep an eye on her. However, Frank’s input isn’t something he needed or asked for. Is it? He made sure to let the officer know with a sharp look.

“That’s fine and dandy, Frank. Now make yourself useful. Guard the door.” Jackson dismissed him with that order. Stepping over to take a seat, he positioned the chair off to the side opposite of Alice Lee. Can’t imagine she wants him anywhere near so he opted for a better angle to jot down Landon’s story. “You know what I’m gonna ask. I need an official statement from you. An account of everything. Then I’ll leave you be. I know you’ve been through hell.”

Landon scoffed. “That’s one way to put it.” With Alice there the director visibly relaxed. Taking a breath cleansed his thoughts before he began. “I remember being at home. And just getting ready to meet Alice. She was coming to meet me anyway. I uh wanted to talk to her. Next thing I know everything goes black. Woke up in a cellar. Head throbbing. Definitely was attacked from behind or I would have seen this guy.” The accomplice of Marigold didn’t play a large role in the aftermath.

Filling Jackson in on his chaining and assumption of a ransom quickly turned into an insane plot. A girl with a fixation gone too far to be plausible in court; the detective wrote down the details on his notepad. Everything Wynter had to say is grim. The entrapment in the basement leading to his attempted escape sounds like a movie. A blockbuster the man himself might have directed. Pretending to be passed out didn’t lead him far. Only a chase leading to a worse injury; Jackson could tell the story was moving onto a climax. When he described exactly how Marigold Sinclaire broken his leg and ankle even he had to grimace. “So she put you in a wheelchair. Went to get antibiotics.” Except she didn’t go straight away, letting the man suffer. Good thing they got him here in time. No telling what would have happened with that leg with infection setting in. “We did recover the body of the man who took you from your home. Miss Sinclaire seems to have dispatched of him after his usefulness wore off. I commend you for your attempt to get away.”

“Didn’t work,” the director exhaled. “She’s insane. Utterly insane. Believing things that never happened.”

From what Jackson’s been hearing from the doctors where they have her now, she’s in her own delusion. “Well, your assessment isn’t far off. So I see you were right all along, Miss Lee. You were innocent.” @txnnesseehoney // prev

Red flashed across his vision. Just as her wicked smile hung on giving him every feasible reason to rock the truth through her head. Leaving his wife? Is not happening. Not for her. Cristobal could say it but instead his hands slid up, squeezing around Vivian's head. Pressure beneath fingertips as he forced her not to break eye contact. "I could slap that disrespect about Talya right out of your mouth." He could squeeze the life out of her if he had the guts. No. Not her. He'd just as soon have a taste of her ruination. His lips are oddly soft in comparison to the way he holds onto Vivian. The only gentle touch that'll come tonight. There is levity in his kiss. A slow burn gradually building up until an explosion of steam whistling at the peak. Cristobal's hands are no longer fusing to the brunette's head. Gripping. Clutching. Tugging at her hips. Pulling her flush against him. So this is how he ends this tirade. Arguing in a flux of lust overtaking every sensible neuron in his body. "This is what you do to me. And you know. You know I can't let you go back out there. You belong to me, Viva. Say it." Curling fingers around her chin, boring eyes down into hers, Cristobal means every word out of his mouth.
