29. The very same day the strange house appeared, disaster reigned. People spontaneously caught fire. Others turned into stone. Some others became rooted to the ground, and couldn't move. Nobody could explain it, but very soon, the town blamed the strange house on the horizon.

28. There was something unsettling about the building. It squatted like a fossilized monster on the horizon. There was no sign of life in the building, except for one light in the tower which stayed on every night, so it seemed that the building was watching the town with one large, staring eye.
