In the world we live in, women are sexualised when they wear leggings (example: “look at her butt in them leggings” or “look at the legs of that chick in the leggings”) In some countries men could potentially be stoned to death (not the 420 kind) for wearing leggings for fashion… So why am I writing this? Just stating facts of the world we live in? I’m going to relate this to myself. I sometimes feel depressed and often have suicidal thoughts because I wear leggings for fashion. A male wearing a women’s clothing. The one time I’ve been out wearing leggings I’ve had mixed reactions. Most of the women who had seen me loved it that I had confidence to go out and wear them but then some were more concerned about my junk (luckily I wear t-shirts and jumpers that are baggy and cover that area) I had received verbal death threats from the smaller minority of women and the majority from men. I love my skeleton leggings so much but the fact of the matter is, is that our society shames men for wearing clothes that women should wear and vice versa… I just wish I could go out and wear what I want and not feel like a victim, to actually feel supported but not by friends but by strangers, people who don’t know me and by people online…
