although far from his favorite season, spring made for beautiful shots. nolan walked along the small parkâs dirt path that was still damp from the nightâs rain. he generously took different shots, putting his new roll of film to good use. it was still early in the morning, the sun just beginning to peek between gray clouds.Â
slowing his pace once he reached a bridge that looked over a small body of water, he nodded toward the person overlooking the bridge next to him. nolan had only been to this park a handful of times before but had never seen anyone else while he was here, something he contributed to the time of day he liked to come. he snapped a photo of clouds reflecting the water, the sound of his cameraâs shutter the only noise that filled the air.Â
the male turned on a heel, intending to continue his walk before he stopped. nolan had an innate ability to see a shot before he took it. it was one of his greatest talents and his best way to avoid wasting film. the person in front of him was creating the perfect shot, yet completely unaware. nolan hesitated, then cleared his throat to capture their attention. â excuse me? â nolan waited until they turned around, then gestured toward the camera that hung near his chest by its strap. â do you mind if i - ? i know itâs probably strange â please donât feel obligated. âÂ

some words and phrases, no matter how scary or horrible they may seem, provide relief through connotation, double meaning, or tone. âyouâre such an idiotâ can either roll off the tongue or cut to the bone. to aidenâs dismay, terminal is not one of those words. itâs cut and dry and it needs no further explanation. it tears right through him anytime someone utters it, and his sisters face always emerges in his head.Â
aiden takes advantage of the months left by eating breakfast with her every morning just like they used to when he was still in grade school. sometimes the conversation is small between them, but he has big news today. although half the city witnessed his and brookeâs explosive argument on the busy sidewalks the day before, sadie was still one of the few who hadnât heard that sheâd come back to town.
sadie and brooke were kindred spirits in one of the worst ways for aidenâs sake â nothing was more interesting or more enjoyable for them than making fun of every move he made. as expected, her eyes lit up and she was hungry with questions, which he answered venomously, still angry even after it was over and done with. her questions were endless; ranging from did she cut her hair again? did she call you asshole casserole? how hard did she cry? no, she wouldnât cry. how hard did you cry? her last questions, however, tore through aiden again in that old familiar way. why didnât she at least tell me goodbye? can i see her now that you have?
aiden used to deny his sister between every breath. sadie was constantly asking for a ride, to hang out with him and his friends, even to sleep on his floor when she scared herself with a horror movie. but now? heâd drive across the country and back if it would somehow just give her a better nights sleep. before aiden really had any thought of consequence or possible unpleasantness, the sound of a dialing ring trilled in his ear. when he heard brookeâs voice on the opposite line, the male hesitated for a long moment. â... i know you donât want to hear from me right now and i know that this isnât the time to ask for favors â but i need a favor. do you have breakfast plans tomorrow?âÂ
we were madly in love for almost 3 years and now weâre sitting in the parking lot of our favorite pizza place and youâre telling me that you want to settle down and have kids and start a wonderful family in the suburbs and all i really want is to travel and live in shitty apartments half way around the world and never hold back so now iâm crying and youâre crying because we canât give each other what we both want. so now weâre over and i keep checking up on you on social media and oh god you found someone new au.

i am coming apart, dismantling myself in front of you. scraping off the paint until i am nothing but a canvas of colors that were once vibrant but are now washed-out and empty. i do this with shaking hands and weary eyes and all, like an artist who has just finished a masterpiece, paint under his fingernails, and decided that no, itâs all wrong, it wonât do, Â i hate it i hate it i hate it. but youâre standing there and youâre staring like i am the guernica, like i am the starry night. you look at me like i am a masterpiece when all i see are rough and scratched and torn. you look at me like i am remarkable.

hello chiltren . a bitch has been MIA! i was on semi-hiatus for a while and then just ditched because everything in my personal life became SO overwhelming. i donât want to go in to deep specifics but i lost a family member, moved and have been in the worst throes of depression/anxiety that i probably ever have been for the past 2-3 months ? anywhomst, iâve just been spiraling lately and i continuously feel like thereâs no reprieve for a lot of my stress/anxieties and i know this platform is absolute garbage and toxic if you know the wrong people but i genuinely enjoy the escape and the opportunity to be so creative with such little boundary (at least in my case, lmao). my activity will most likely stay spotty as always but *clasps hands* iâm here arenât i?????Â
please love and forgive me.... i need validation, thank u !

âbecause this whole thing is selfish and stupid and doesnât make any sense.â his tone was matter-of-fact, gaze still refusing to meet hers. âbesides, one day youâre gonna get tired of all of this, anâ it wonât be exciting for you. youâll get older, move to the suburbs or whatever, and thisâll all be some bullshit story about how you took a walk on the wild side once. this inherently wonât work. weâre just wastinâ time.â he didnât entirely believe what he was saying, but his voice never wavered, didnât give him away in even the slightest. sometimes he thought he could make this work, that he wouldnât always be boxing, wouldnât always be running guns â but with the sons he couldnât promise that, and this was his family, if given the choice between them and her he had to pick them, right? even though no one was making him pick, it seemed like the logical thing to do. keeping her safe and keeping his family meant keeping his distance. maybe disappearing altogether.
âwhat is so stupid about this to you?â she countered, growing more desperate and agitated as he remained so composed. claraâs eyes searched his desperately for some sort of explanation to the real reason for all of this, knowing she may never hear it from his mouth. even in moments like these, she tried to never take her time with him for granted. she looked over him carefully, admiring the curvature of his face and the pale blue of his eyes. they had both become so good at making everything so hard and overly complicated. no amount of rationality from his tone of voice or demeanor could lighten the blow of how his words hit her. words eager to fall from her tongue were merely swallowed as anger shook her to the core, head shaking in disbelief at him. âa waste of time?â she repeated, her mouth agape. âthis is what this is to you? a waste?â she faltered, blinking rapidly to avoid the tears that stung at her eyes, refusing to break in front of him. âhow is this so easy for you? pushing me away, not even look me in the eye in the process.â
