“Merry Christmas Eve, bitch.” Tangerine (2015) dir. Sean Baker
Tangerine (dir. Sean Baker)
No, I think my favorite scene is the last scene, simply because for a filmmaker, your favorite scenes are always the scenes that are exactly how you envisioned them. We only did one take of that, because it was actually really brave for those two to do that. It was very uncomfortable for them. It was about as close to, like, when we think of a sex scene, because… they’re naked. When the wigs come off, for them, it was really stripping away any privacy whatsoever. (source)
And now I'm holding onto my last breath.
No gender, no religion, no nothing. Love is love.
So I went to Delhi Queer Pride Parade 2015 where a friend interviewed me for his fitting out campaign. This is what happened.
Interviewer: How did you fit out? Me: I had no particular group that I belonged to in school. In fact I was that one girl who was mostly punished during classes. People always thought of me as that one fucked up kid. Interviewer: How do you still fit out? Me: I have curly hair. They’re different than what most people have. All Bollywood actresses have straight hair, that’s what people want. Hence, people would often want me to have them straightened. But I’m not going to do it. They make me, me. Interviewer: What do you think of the queer community? Me: I think love is love. The queer community is so misunderstood. People think they understand them and their struggles but tbh they don’t. People aren’t aware of their struggles and the challenges they face. People are always so quick to judge them which I think needs to change.
I know so many people looking for the same
All the freaking time.
