Life in the Small Things – When Everyday Life Is Enough
I’ve been sitting here working on my app, and it is finally beginning to take on a shape and clarity that I really like. A form that gives us the opportunity to make life in the small things visible. 🇬🇧 English – you are here🇸🇪 Svenska – Läs inlägget på svenska → A way of making life in the small things visible. The app doesn’t demand lots of points. It doesn’t tell you: You’re doing it…

Thursday, August 4th - Foggy Weather
-
Fog cover was super intense today, honestly not a huge surprise from all the rain we’ve had. Horses stayed in (again) last night, third night in a row poor things. But between the thunderstorms, heat, and/or tornado warnings, they’re better off inside.
Downside of that is that now we get to clean out stalls that are twice (if not more) as dirty as normal. And when they’re inside, we don’t tend to clean while they’re in the stall (although some barns do). It’s not particularly that they’re untrustworthy or hostile, but they’re really freaking big animals and you do *not* want to get side stepped into a wall or accidentally stepped on just because they forget how to move in a tight space. Which means we rotate them in and out of some extra stalls to clean. Not a huge deal effort wise (except for some horses, looking at you Joey) but means it takes longer to shuttle them.

With the extreme weather, we’ve had more toad visits than normal. This fella was super chill being carried, didn’t even pee on me. You can’t really tell from the angle but I’m actually holding him pretty lightly because he didn’t try to jump away, even after I set him outside (the cats like to pick on them when they’re in the barn).
That’s about all I got for now,
