Joseph raised an eyebrow. “You’re.. not one of the fae?”
Well that was a stupid question coming from him, since Faeries were most susceptible to iron and whatnot (and the…thing (?) before him seemed to be invulnerable to the effects of iron), plus the disguise wasn’t the same as the glamours that the other used–
Ah, bother. Fine, he’d take it for its word (for now, at least). “I…see.” Joseph awkwardly cleared his throat. First, introductions. “I am Joseph. A pleasure to meet you. And you are?”
A somewhat sinister air began to coalesce around the small silver-haired boy. He could use this: gain information and use this opportunity for his goals.

Fae? A fairy, her translator told her, some type of Earth creature she hadn’t encountered. So he wasn’t sure what she was.
“I’m not one of the fae. My name is Boot.” After introducing herself she returned to her explanations of what she was doing, feeling excited that he had seemed excited. “We Irkens have worked on the problem of creating new bodies for ages, so that part was not overly difficult, except that I wanted them to appear human and have several upgrades beyond what humans typically have. Designing the artificial skin and making sure it could clean and heal itself easily was a fun little challenge, but consciousness transfer is the last big piece I need. With me, I can just plug my PAK in and have it read my code, but with humans I suspect I’ll need to find a way to store the information in Irken to put it in.”
