Crossing Wires | Jarvis&Tony
"Well, during the palladium crisis I gave the company to her— and never wanted to take it back ever since. I do still own the company, naturally, but I suppose it’s better for business not to have a CEO that actively tries to avoid business meetings, you know what I mean. None of your work ethic, as you so fittingly put it."
Tony smiles, noticing how the inventor’s demeanor changes ever so slightly when talking about his AI. It’s nice to see that even in the most confusing alternative universes, some things stay the same.
"Oh, god", the engineer says, a sudden thought crossing his mind, "is he possessive? Does he scare off your dates? You know, bringing up guns as soon as anybody touches you?" He almost laughs at that but only chuckles a little, getting his composure back soon enough. Can’t imagine Jarvis appreciating him laughing at the AI— "Ahem. Sorry. I’m probably the only one that would find that scenario amusing.”
"If TONY is any indication of your work ethic then I am surprised it took you so long to pass on the title of CEO," as they talked they had arrived at the doors to Jarvis's workshop. Though it would only take a couple seconds to type in the code he paused, staring at the code pad for a moment then directing a look up at one of the hidden cameras in the ceiling. "Dearest A.I.," Jarvis's voice is saccarine sweet. "If you do not disable the emergency lock-out I will keep you muted for the rest of the week."
He does not bother to hold back the triumphant smile when the flashing on the array stops after a moment of stubborn silence. After that it takes only a moment and the doors are sweeping open. The Inventor makes sure that he enters first, casting an eye over the space and raising a brow at the bots within.
His only response to the miniature chaos within is an amused, "Behave."
