Scotland plays no games
Following the trail
Ruth Davidson opened First Minister’s Questions yesterday with an attack on the Scottish Government over the performance of the NHS, citing a report that the service faced “pockets of meltdown” this winter.
Peter A Bell’s insight:
“What Ruth Davidson did yesterday was take the havoc being wreaked on the NHS by her own Conservative government at Westminster and pretend that it was the SNP’s fault…”

an unprecedented moment in native american history happened this week
I don’t think non-Natives understand what a HUGE FREAKING DEAL this is. This is amazing. The show of solidarity is just…it’s amazing. Regardless of the end result, these gatherings will not be forgotten.

Scottish Six to be ‘ruled out’ by new BBC Charter
A separate Scottish Six news programme looks unlikely to go ahead as it will be at odds with the BBC Charter Review, according to reports.
Peter A Bell’s insight:
We can’t miss what we’ve never had. And the so-called ‘Scottish Six’ was never going to be anything more than a sop to those whose aspirations for Scotland are not going to be satisfied by some patronising gesture from the broadcasting arm of the British nationalist cause.

Michelle Thomson could be back in the SNP within a month
Edinburgh West MP Michelle Thomson could be back in the SNP within a month, it has emerged. Earlier this week the SNP’s 54 MPs at Westminster put a motion to party’s ruling national executive to re-admit Ms Thomson. She was suspended last year amid a police investigation into property deals, carried out by a solicitor struck off for misconduct.
Peter A Bell’s insight:
Whatever one’s opinion of Michelle Thomson it cannot be right that she is kept in limbo for so long. Notwithstanding the despicable smears from the likes of Neil Findlay, there is absolutely nothing to suggest that Ms Thomson might be guilty of any wrong-doing.
Findlay has evidently appointed himself prosecutor, judge and jury. But there is such a thing as ‘natural justice’. And no reasonable person can possibly claim that the treatment of Michelle Thomson is fair.

the difference between Unionists and Yes voters is the Unionists freak out about saltires on strawberries, and meanwhile we're more worried about nuclear weapons floating next to our major cities... priorities eh
Seems to be a vicious double standard, we kick off about the Union Jack being used on actual Scottish produce (haggis, whisky, shortbread) and we’re the blood and soil nationalists.
They demand and complain until the Saltire is removed from Scottish produce and they get to say ‘well it’s just strawberries jeez calm down jock’
