Life goes up. Then it goes down. But it comes up again.
Send salawat. And wait for what is better to come <3
Quran has a "heavenly" outward appearance. It mentions the unseen world, the Day of Judgment, and the division of people based on their beliefs.
But the more you read and contemplate its verses, it speaks deeply to the human condition, even though at first- for whatever reason- its verses don't speak to you.
An example is that many verses relating to war and suffering help us deeply realize that a human has no other ally except God. But they have a tone of special confidence, which a human being in a state of pain, would never be able to produce. They are heavenly and yet so applicable.
On that note, the Quran means "excessive recitation." It takes time to understand it and grow closer to it. If your love for the dunya blinds you or if you are committing any form of shirk, you'll dismiss it easily.
The merchandise of Allah (sw) is expensive
Man khafa adlaja wa man adlaja balaghal manzil. Ala inna sil ‘atallahi ghaliyah, ala inna sil ‘atallihil Jannah
I love the Quran. The Quran is my life, the oxygen for my soul, the rope I cling to on the precipice of a cliff, and my heart's greatest passion. The Quran is a sublime text, it is a gift from the One whose words are all Truth, who gave us the great gift of experiencing language, the priceless divine gift of words. Words are signs of the state of a person's heart and my heart soaks in the Quran like a sponge, and when a light shines through my heart, Quranic words reflect upon the universe and clarify it like a magnifying glass. The Quran is my honor, my key to eternal peace, my diploma of the little knowledge God taught me, and the reason for my existence. Speech is the first light that opens for a finite being to experience the eternal God. And speech that turns into action, is the second light. Quran is the best speech.
I'm working tirelessly, often sleep-deprived, every single day scheduled by my due dates. Of course, I'm learning, and am grateful for it, but it doesn't show in my grades. I can't physically keep up anymore. If I ever become a teacher, I hope I remember this moment. Don't get upset if students didn't read your syllabus. Keep repeating things. Humans need repetition to learn. Be ever gentle and forgiving and kind. But here's an issue: no human can ever truly "judge" another in every possible sense. Everything is like a work of translation. But God judges us and that is the ultimate relief.
pyrrhonism, greek philosophy of skepticism, advocating suspension of judgment over the truth of all beliefs
like all other greek philosophical schools, it's main goal is eudaimonia- a life of excellence (or virtue- but without the exclusive moral implication) and happiness
the names of things change, but humans don't
What must be loved most, can't be expressed in cries of joy and sound. Because you realize how little love you are capable of giving to it. So silence can be a more authentic expression of love.
But even in tasbih, the prophet told his companions to lower their voices while yelling Allahu Akbar, because the One who is with us, is the All-Hearer, Ever Near.
God deprives His beloved servant of power, to show Himself more, so the servant loves Him more.
i am impatient and get angry, especially under stress, always remember that. don't claim to be purified, even as a qari of Qur'an.
Surah Al-Isra 60-61
Isra Wal-Mi'raj and the tree of Zaqumm are mentioned as fitan for people.
Right after, Allah (aza wa jal) mentions the angels being asked to prostrate to Adam (as).
The angels were asked to do something out of the ordinary. This too was a type of fitna- a test they obviously passed.
This world is full of fitan- many things may seem strange or wrong to us at first. In every situation, the proper response is submitting and humbling ourselves to Allah (sw).
