“Pshh, no worries,” Ty waved it off, not at all bothered by the fact that Violet deemed herself unprepared. Following the other into her room, hazel hues darted around the place briefly before hopping upon her bed, hoping that Violet was alright with her getting comfortable this easily. “So, what movie shall we watch?”

Smiling sheepishly, Vi nodded in response, still feeling a bit bad that she didn’t have as much as she would have liked to when Ty arrived. She really wasn’t experienced in sleepovers, after all. Standing at the edge of her bed as Ty sat down, she figured she’d have to be up in order to load a movie, anyways. “Um, I dunno, what kind of movie do you want to watch?”

Ariel smiled as an answer, unsure if Violet knew that she meant it genuinely and wasn’t one to compliment someone just to make them happy. She nodded in return as a thank you, thinking how much she enjoyed the other’s words. Ariel chuckled and pushed herself off the bed and to her feet. “Of course I’m sure,” she said nodding enthusiastically, “Com’on, I’ll drive.” Ariel began the way out of her labyrinth of a room and downstairs, assuming Violet would follow along.

Violet definitely meant it genuinely, she just always had an uncertainty to her words, always afraid of saying the wrong thing and ready to retract her statement at a moment’s notice. Her smile was soft, but then again, it was rare that her smile exceeded that - it wasn’t all too common that she smiled in the first place. She slid off the bed not long after Ariel did, nodding in response. “O-okay,” she answered, her small smile remaining as she followed Ariel, her hands in her pockets. “You have a car here?”

“Um…” That coming from her didn’t sound so doubtful to be honest, it was more around the idea that she was mimicking Vi, trying to taunt her friend a little. “I’ll be free in fifteen, if you can wait just a little bit, we can get going right away!” He eagerness made it seem like she said five though. “Hm, good enough. A’right, I’ll take that.”

Noting Vi ever said sounded confident, unless she was arguing with Dash. But Nell was someone she didn’t want to argue with, partially because she was intimidated by her classmate - but, then again, she was intimidated by nearly everyone. So, really, she only blushed in response. “Uh, yeah, I can totally wait,” she nodded, smiling softly at Nell’s excitement. “Should I get anything, um, while I wait?”

If there was one thing Tadashi didn’t want to do when he came in to the record store this morning, it was to embarrass the singing employee. Of course, he didn’t know if he truly did embarrass her by listening to her sing without permission, but the moment she noticed that he was there, he saw how bright her face turned as she instantly stopped. She lowered the music that had been playing a bit too loudly, and while she tried her best to look like she had been caught like a deer caught in the headlights, the male couldn’t help but smile apologetically at her. He probably should have made his presence more apparent when he first came in, but he just assumed that she did this kind of things often even with customers around. “No, it’s alright.” He replied, shaking his head. “I’m sorry to have scared you if I did, but you looked like you were into that song so…” He trailed off and instead decided to shrug as he continued to apologetically smile.

It wasn’t hard to make Violet feel flustered or embarrassed. Normally, she felt that way just by opening her mouth to speak, but this time, she seemed to feel immensely more embarrassed when she was caught singing. Her cheeks were obviously red, something she was aware of by the rising heat, yet could not stop. She knew her palms would be sweaty by the time he responded, and at this point, she just wanted everything to be over as quickly as possible so she could hide in the back room, flipping through records as she tried to calm herself down. And of course, it certainly didn’t help that he was cute - dammit! Vi wondered if she would ever be able to keep herself together, and thought maybe social interactions weren’t for her, after all. “Yeah... um... it’s okay...” she mumbled, her words spoken quickly as she tried to avoid eye contact. “C-can I help you with anything?” she asked, forgetting she had asked almost the same question a mere moment ago.

It was really early in the day, and while Tadashi would normally find himself working or helping around in the college labs, the Hamada decided to do something else for a change. Instead, he found himself making his way towards the record store, a place he hasn’t gone to often since he moved here since he busied himself with Baymax. Arriving to the store, there was a moment where he wondered if it was open yet since it was still early, but then noticed that the ‘open’ sign was visible, meaning that it should be. Pushing the door, he stepped instead the store, before an amused smile appeared on his face. There, where the speakers stood, was a girl singing out loud to herself which caused Tadashi to chuckle a bit. Making his way towards where the CD’s were, he silently continued to listen to her sing as he began to search. Admittedly, she was pretty good though.

Violet didn’t expect anyone to be in the store so early. That, and she believed she would have seen them coming from the large store window, and immediately stop her singing and ultimately sink back into invisibility as a response. But her eyes closed for a moment, lost in the song, and she didn’t notice the man who made his way through the door. The music was too loud, disguising the sound of the bell that chimed when he entered, and it was only when she saw him out of the corner of her eye near the CD’s, did she realize someone was there, actually hearing her sing. Completely embarrassed, it showed in the red tint illuminating Violet’s face as she fumbled to lower the volume, and realized she had no choice but to address him. Of course, that didn’t mean she would make eye contact, and in fact, she did her best to avoid it at all costs. “S-sorry! I’m... I’m sorry.... um... how can I help you?”

“Is that good or bad? I feel like Dash and JackJack are pretty cool, so I’ll take it as good..” Penelope ended her talking by letting a moment of thoughtful silence arise. She came to wonder if the way Violet was concerned for her own siblings should be the way she behaved with her own too, specially now. “Yeah. When? Right now?” Her shoulders shrugged slightly. “Dude, I’m always down for pizza. If you say now, I’m all yours.” but then, Nell giggled. “Try that again without the stuttering, come on Vi.”

“Um, it’s good...” she agreed, the hesitation simply a sign of her lack of ability to converse. It was kind of her job to call her siblings uncool, but at the end of the day, yeah, they were pretty cool. “Uh, if you want it to be now? I didn’t know when you were free...” Vi was certainly free, but she never wanted to make it seem like she was taking Nell from something else she had to do. “I am,” she repeated, avoiding eye contact.

Violet’s reaction made Marceline grin, her unusually sharp incisors poking into her bottom lips as she shook her head. “Nah, just doing some inventory,” she told her, before raising her eyebrows. “You’re cute with you blush, baby– a nice shade of red.” She looked at the record in her hand, studying it for a moment, before looking back up at her. “You’re not too bad of a singer, either. Don’t be shy.”

Violet was always this easily flustered; people barely noticed her in the first place, so Marceline’s behavior was completely unexpected and something she didn’t know how to react to in the slightest. She didn’t even get to respond to the most normal part of the conversation when she heard the flirtatious remark, causing her face to only redden, if that was actually possible. “Um... th-thank you...?” she muttered, stumbling over her words. “I, uh... I never really sing...”

Ariel smiled and shook her head, “You’re really kind, you know? -Genuinely, too. Because there’s those who are nice and those who are scared that people won’t like them, but you’re just truly just a good person.” Ariel felt silly for rambling, but she figured Vi deserved to know what she thought. Swallowing hard, Ariel put the joint back into her antique wood box which wreaked of the drug and released the smell into the room, making her crave the high. Despite that, she wanted Violet to be comfortable, so she looked back up and smiled. “Wanna go bowling or ice skating or something instead?”

Violet blushed at Ariel’s compliment. “Oh, uh, thank you...” she answered softly. Honestly, Violet was scared that people wouldn’t like her once she finally wasn’t completely invisible, but she genuinely thought Ariel was a good person, someone she wanted to befriend. “Y-you are, too,” Vi added, as well, as Ariel had showed her nothing but kindness. She was embarrassed at her answer, but looked back up with hopeful eyes. “Y-yeah, if you want to... you’re sure?” She felt bad Ariel didn’t do what she assumed she really wanted to do, after all.

She had been in the back for most of her shift, restocking and organizing the inventory, when she heard the loud… crooning coming from the front of the store. The dark haired girl poked her head out from the back door, watching intently as her otherwise shy coworker sung along to the lyrics. She gave a snort, and a smirk. “Nice pipes,” she called to Violet, stepping out with a record still in her hand.

Violet was visibly startled when her coworker made herself heard. She believed she was alone in the store, hence why she sang. She rarely even dared to raise her voice in the shower if she knew her family was home, though she rarely raised her voice ever. “M-Marceline!” she exclaimed in surprise, her face turning a bright shade of red. “I-I thought you were, um, on lunch break...”
