And The Curtains Close||Self Para
When she was just a girl, she expected the world.
Damp golden locks unleashed a clutter of water droplets and heavy footsteps broke through the previous silence. A slow creaking of the door allowed for light to flood into the darkness of the room. The room refused to jump in surprise when the presence disturbed its tranquility, instead it remained stoically still, watching the intruder enter. Her towel slipped from her body, her fingers loosing any strength that it mustered moments before. Vacant cerulean irises stared at the obscure contours of the audience that surrounded her and her lips quivered before a trembling twisted smile appeared as she walked across the room, "Hello," she said in the chirpy high pitched voice as she jumped onto her bed like a small child. Excitedly, she clapped her hands together while throwing her blankets to the side while water droplets fall off of her body, staining the white sheets that draped over her mattress. Throwing her head back, she curled her body as she gave a squeal before jumping off of the bed. Slipping from the trickles of water that padded her foot, her head slammed onto the floor and she giggled childishly as the dark outlines of her sunken eyes glistened, "Ouch," she said before languidly standing up. Stumbling, her fingers grabbed onto the drawer that screamed at her unwanted touch. Her eyes shutting off the rest of the world that seemed to be in a daze.Â
But it flew away from her reach.
Shaking her head softly, she slowly opened her irises and the edge of the drawer blurred, causing her to wrinkle her eyebrows slightly. Her features further distorted as the letter her father had written to her stared at her with a teasing smile. The skin of her fingers turned deathly white as her pearly white teeth bite her lips. Blood oozed from the spot and dripped onto her uncovered epidermis. Her eyes snapped towards the liquid that tainted her white skin and the metallic taste of her own blood consumed her taste buds. April 24th, April 24th, the date haunted over her and coiled around her legs, chaining her. Her breaths hastened and a nausea hit her as she stumbled onto the ground shivering from the cold airs that licked her skin maliciously, "Get away from me," she whispered while hunching her knees towards her body as her eyes widened. The darkness loomed over her and she scrambled to avoid it but her legs refused to listen to her, keeping her tied down to the floor. Her arms frantically moved and she tried to grab onto anything but her fumbling fingers dismissed her commands, "Stay the fuck away," she screamed as it came close and her bare chest heaved as she managed to summon enough strength to dart away towards the light of the bathroom. Putting her hands in front, a maniacal glint started to form as she laughed, "You can't get me," she said with a demented smile.Â
The creatures that seemed to form from the darkness closed in closer to her and she laughed as she ripped off papers from her desk. Clutching them close to her body, she crumbled one of them in her hands as she threw them into the shadows, hoping that her ammunition would be enough to keep the figures away. Her laughter molded into sudden shrieks as she fell to the ground, paper flying around her and her fingers clutching her ears when her windows started to violently rattle. Quick breaths entered into her parted lips while her eyes still clung onto the floor, stuck in a daze. The wind howled against it as tiny taps on it asked her for entry and she slowly picked herself up. The creatures that had inched slowly towards her seemed to have disappeared and her fingers ran through the knots of her hair as she slowly made her way towards the window. Barely grasping the ends of the curtains, she pulled it wide open and her eyes hardened at the sight of the raven that asked for her to allow it in. It's flapping wings and beady eyes made her eyes flash dangerously until she noticed the parcel that was attached onto the familiar. With trembling anticipation, her fingers fumbled to undo the latch but every time it slipped from her grasps. Letting a scream of frustration, she frantically looked for an object savagely. Finding a jewelry box, she scrambled to get it and she let out a satisfied laugh as she flung it towards the glass.Â
A terrified caw was muffled by a sudden thundering and she twirled around in glee as glass shards flung across the room. Spurts of red decorated her pale arms and a numbing sensation came about her body but she felt nothing as she waved at the raven to come towards her, "Come here, Eris," she whispered in staggered breaths as her eyes glimmered, "What do you have for me?" she wondered aloud as she ripped the parcel off the raven's leg. It cried out in pain but she couldn't register the sound as she stared at the envelope with widening eyes. Her father's handwriting and her mother's signature perfume oozed off it. Ripping the paper off of it, her trembling fingers were able to open the letter without ruining the contents inside. Her chest heaved up and down quickly as she licked the blood of her lips while a suffocating feeling started to bubble.Â
Mother wanted to send this lovely gown to you as a last present. Wear it well.Â
Do not forget, April 24th.Â
-Love,
Father
April 24th, the date jumped out at her again and she dropped the letter as she backed away from it. Her breaths quickened as tears started to brim her eyes and her body slammed against the dresser but her attention remained on the letter that smiled at her charmingly from the ground, "Stop it," she started to say, "Stop it, stop it, stop it!" she screamed as her knees fell to the floor. Shivering violently, she crawled towards the envelope and her voice unleashed a terrifying power, "STOP IT," she demanded but the laughter crowded around her and she started to rip the letter into small pieces. Throwing it like confetti in the air, she let out a sigh of relief as if she felt freed and her eyes traveled to the place the letter had occupied. A glittering chiffon red dress waited for her and her hands slowly picked it up, letting the material sing to her. It felt smooth and it soothed her.Â
So she ran away in her sleep.Â
Slipping the material on for the sake of her mother, she did a little twirl like she did when she was younger. A time of freedom, innocence, a time when her father pampered her, servants tending to her every ache and need. Her father showering her with affection and loving words. Her lips pulled into a wide smile as she giggled, lost within the memories that seemed to enchant her. Clapping her hands together, she paused as she caught the image of herself in the mirror attached to her dresser. Something felt oddly missing. Stumbling towards the dresser, she let out a half laugh as she licked her tongue and the metallic taste of her blood smeared across her tongue. Her laughter echoed in her ears as she reached for the lipstick case her mother had bought her when she was younger. Riffling through the cases, she came across the brightest red, the one that resembled the color of blood and her smile widened. The case came off as she slammed the lid off of it, "I want to look pretty right?" she talked to her reflection that was smiling at her, "Hello, hello, hello," she repeated as she waved frantically at the girl looking back at her. Tilting her head, the color started to appear on her chapped lips and her fingers fumbled to follow the contours of her lips. A certain tremble overcame her and the red line went straight across her cheek. She paused in her activity as she stared at the girl, "What am I doing?" she asked in a hushed whisper as the lipstick fell onto the surface of the dresser, "What is wrong with me?" the words left her quickly as her fingers trembled.Â
Her eyes looked down at her dress before they raised slowly to stare at the girl that seemed to mimic her movements, "WHAT ARE YOU STARING AT?" she demanded as she raced up towards the mirror. Her breaths quickened at a rapid pace as her dilated irises searched for anything, an object, she couldn't stand the girl that was staring at her, she had to destroy it, destroy her. She raced towards the coat hanger that Eris usually rested upon and her fingers turned deathly white as her grip almost snapped it in half. A maniacal cackling bubbled forth from her lips as she stared straight into the ceiling before she threw the metal hanger straight into the glass. A loud shattering sound sent her screaming in happiness as she pranced about the room, looking for more objects to decimate the mirror. The frantic cries of Eris didn't reach her ears as she threw her books onto the floor, ripping each paper out from the binds. Ink splattered across her skin as she threw it towards the mirror. Running towards the damaged furniture she stared at the glass underneath her feet in horror, "Why do you still exist? GO AWAY, GO AWAY," she screeched as Eris landed on, causing her to scream in terror. April 24th, April 24th the bird seemed to cry at her and anger bubbled, "Shut up you INSOLENT BIRD," she screamed as she grabbed the animal in her hands, "Shut up, shut up, shut up," she said as she wrung the creatures neck as if it was a towel that she needed to dry. Throwing its lifeless body into the mirror, she jumped and clapped once again as more glass fell onto the floor.Â
"Don't do anything to embarrass me, child," her father's appeared out of nowhere and she cowered onto the floor, clutching her ears as she started to scream loudly to drown out his voice but it wouldn't disappear, "I don't care, I don't care about you, I hate you," she spat out, "I HATE YOU," she screamed while turning around, frantically searching for the man who called for her demise, "COME OUT YOU COWARD," she demanded. But for once silence answered her and she threw her head back and laughed as droplets of rain came pouring down onto her through the broken window, "I will do what I want," she said while narrowing her eyes. Skipping towards her desk, she pulled out two sheets of paper and the water from her skin started to stain them. Biting her lips hard, she put her finger to place where her blood was gushing forth and started to write.Â
Do you know who tried to kill your stupid sister? Me. I polyjuiced myself as you. Surprise. I wished I had killed her and you along, you were such an easy target. But too late now.Â
-Irene Melrose.Â
She looked down at her handiwork and adrenaline coursed through at the thought of revealing the secret her father told her to keep. Pulling out the other piece of paper, she bite her lip again and drenched her finger within it.Â
Oh Livy, you should have known better than to cross me. I had Lukas wrapped around my fingers. He's a werewolf you know? Oh, you didn't, so sad. I thought you two were the best of friends. Too bad, I should have drowned you myself but I don't like getting my hands dirty. You should have been a filthy mudblood, too bad that you're not. Didn't know? Oh, sad.Â
-Irene Melrose.Â
Holding the letters close to her, she let out a scream of victory, "I will do what I WANT," she shouted into the storm that was brewing outside. Snapping her fingers, a house elf appeared, "Give these to Chez Barder and Olivia Wren," she said in a delightfully syrupy voice while girlishly swinging her arms back and forth. As the creature vanished, she ran towards the window, her fingers digging into the sharp edges of the glass that was still attached to the window, "WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW FATHER?" she asked into the storm that raged at her act of rebellion, "NOTHING. NOTHING. NOTHING," she cackled as she jumped around in a cheer. Droplets of water cascaded down her sunken cheeks and her wide eyes stared at the damaged room with pleasure, "So beautiful," she said with a content sigh as she walked towards the mirror, the shards of glass cutting into her feet. Looking down with doll-like eyes, she saw the girl, the one with blond hair staring straight up at her and her fury grew, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" she screamed down at the floor picking up the shards, bringing them close to her face. Trying to crush them with her fingers, blood poured out and her skin screamed but she laughed at the pain, "So beautiful, so beautiful, die, die, die," she chanted while letting the shards fall onto the ground.Â
April 24th, the date stared at her from the drawer and a crazed smile emerged as her blood stained hands picked up the sheets that were on the ground. Ripping them into smaller shreds, her bloodied hands decorated them and she looked up at the ceiling, looking for a place but not a hook or a rod welcomed her, "I will do what I want," she whispered again as her fingers dropped the blood stained sheets to the ground. Scrambling through her objects, she growled in frustration and flipped her desk over, "WHY ARE YOU SO USELESS?" she snarled viciously with the wind howling at her to stop this, she still had time to live, she still had time to experience everything she wanted to. She laughed at it, "You make me laugh, don't make me laugh," she said as she stared at the window. The glass caught her eyes and the object cowered as she drew nearer to it, "Hello, my precious," she said while her eyes shimmered with fascination. Struggling, she sunk her skin into the glass and relished the feel of the endorphins that rushed through her. Pulling out the glass with her hands, she slowly walked towards her bed, "Did I ruin your plans, father?" she asked with a pleased smile as she slammed the glass right into her bosom. Her body lurched forward and writhed as if she were to vomit. Coughs of blood left her and she smiled as the red liquid seeped from her lips, "Wonderful," she screamed as the rain tried to reach her and bring her back. Repeating her previous action, her body fell against the mattress of her bed, the glass still in hand. Exhaustion overcame her but her eyes were still wide open, "Did I ruin your plans?" her words rang in her ear as the blood continued to pour out from her wounds, "Wonderful," she whispered into the howling storm.Â
In the night, the stormy night, away she flied.Â
Now that we're all graduating soon
I think youâd look marvellous with red hair!
Right? That's what I thought, thanks for the confirmation Victoria. How have you been? Haven't seen you in a while.Â
Now that we're all graduating soon
Might as well do a little change. How would my hair look like if I dyed it red?Â
I haven't seen you in ages. Let's do lunch.
If you want. Pick the time and place.Â
On the 24th of April, I have a task for you to carry out.Â
Suicide.
-Love,Â
Father
I will do as you command, father.
-Irene Melrose
...and there goes another ruined chocolate soufflé.
Hi, Irene.
As nice as the nickname is, Iâd prefer Zaz, thanks. Iâve been alright, visited my grandparents over the break as well. - Sâwhy I couldnât come back to Hogwarts with you. How about you, are you good?
Oh, alright since you dislike it, I'll call you Zaz. That's so sweet of you, I wish your parents told me about that because it was totally sad when they told me you weren't coming back. I am doing good, thanks for asking. I've been quite busy though so I haven't been able to socialize as of late. But how have you been? Anything interesting to tell me?Â
...and there goes another ruined chocolate soufflé.
A real shame, too, that one looked pretty good. - Oh, well, better luck next time. Besides, I donât think the house elves liked that I was messing around in their kitchen.
Aw, that's too bad. I'm sure they won't mind though, well actually, you never know with house elves. It's lovely to see you back though, Zazzie. How have you been? I haven't seen you since our last meeting over break. I was really sad when you didn't come back with me.Â
How do you feel about your players?
I would never trade my players for anyone. Honestly, they're the most beautiful and talented people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Because let's be real, have you seen the writing of our members? It's glorious. I'm so honored to be a part of this rpg.Â
Stop writing that paper and love me.
I love you. <3 Sending my love. <3 Because I know who this is <3 <3
How do you feel about your other admins?
I LOVE THEM WITH ALL MY HEART. But actually, Kelsey's like the mother who loves to cook and stuff and in general is a super duper funny person. Joha is like my really cool aunt, and I just want to do stuff with her all the time. She's just fabulous. We met up in real life and amg, the real person is a midget but I still felt like she was taller than me I have no idea. Simon is my older brother because he calms me down and talks through stuff with me all the time even when I'm being obnoxious. All in all I couldn't have asked for better people.Â
Your writing style. I'm just in awe.
Amg, (insert minor Yenny spaz but I'm trying to not be too incoherent right now so yes) thank you so much, that's so nice of you. I'm in awe of such a nice compliment. Best compliment. Amg. Amg. I'm going to stop now before I die from happiness.
What a glorious day!
Not sweet at all, lovely. What a smashing thing of you to say, but you really canât be all that rah-rah running into me. Socialising is really not my favourite past time so I canât claim to do it well. That so? Sounds like a positively funtertaining line-up, though I canât say for sure since I have no clue who you mean for certain. Though one does hear things here and there.
An absolutely wonderful friend? Why, dollface, it sounds like you have a bit of a pash for them. Wouldnât want people to be thinking the wrong thing since Iâm sure a dozen sweethearts would be uber heart-wrecked if you had a saucy minx hidden away in your broom closet that nobody knew about. These days? Everyoneâs being three snores and a half really, although there was that uber beastly row between Nathan and Chez ala Chez the other day that I suppose youâve heard about?Â
But it really is so easy to be all excited to see you. Pity that you don't since your smiles and lingo is enough to brighten up anyone's day. You can ask around and I'm sure everyone will think the same way as I do. Oh, and what does one hear now and then? Out of curiosity. Besides my sudden encounter with Arielle, it's been pleasant to talk to Emery for I don't believe we've conversed this year. Then there was that new transfer that I still don't know the name of. But they gave me compliments. Now it all comes to you, dear.Â
But he is wonderful though its not that kind of relationship, it would be awkward if it was. He's a little brother of sorts, I should say and a wonderful companion. Claret, you are too kind, I hardly think there's anyone who would have their hearts broken over me. That's a shame, perhaps its time to have a little spice back into the castle since its no good if its been such a boredom fest for you. I did and I was quite surprised. I thought those boys were closer than I am with my Jimmy Choos.Â
