oof i miss rping so much, but it kinda feels nice to take a break from it for awhile. i just felt so burnt out for awhile there. anyone got any rps they can recommend to me? there’s three i got my eye on but i’m not quite sure yet
this is super important 👏🏻
earth day - aine
- Just because we cannot see the immediate damage we are causing the earth, doesn’t mean it’s not there. Earth day lets us appreciate what a beautiful world we have the pleasure of existing in, but reminds us that we must treat the world kindly for it to treat us kind back. Look into how you can do little things to make a change and stop the devastation humanity is carelessly causing. In fifty years, we will wish we had started sooner. By then, it’ll simply be too late.
not to be That Guy but nobody cried this much when brazils national museum burned down in september, just goes to show how much people favor white history!!!
to be fair, i didn’t hear squat about this. i would have been just as unhappy about that event as this
and theres a reason you didnt hear squat about it!
because people favor white history!
notre dame got immediate coverage and attention, even though notre dame will be okay. even though the art has been saved and spared, even though it has happened before and will happen again
when the national museum of brazil burned in september, there was hardly any coverage. even though the majority of what had taken hundreds of years to collect had burned. even though the national museum of brazil was home to art from pompeii and egypt as well.
am i saying that what has been burned and demolished at notre dame isnt devastating? no. absolutely not.
but its real fucking telling what people care about when MULTIPLE people now have responded saying they hadnt even HEARD of brazils national museum burning lol
Y'all… The Museu Nacional (National Museum) held the largest collection in LATIN AMERICA.
The fire destroyed over 20 million relics. You read that right. 20 MILLION. Dinosaur fossils, mummies, and indigenous artefacts. More than 90% of the items the museum held were destroyed.
Notre Dame can still be repaired. It was already renovated 2 centuries ago. Notre Dame can be rebuilt. The historical items the Museu Nacional held CANNOT be replaced. The museum was absolutely DESTROYED.
The Declaration of Independence of my country was signed at this very museum. Throughout the fire, museum employees ran inside to rescue as many items as they could.
A lot of Latin America’s history fully VANISHED in this fire. This was a huge hit for us. Y'all care so much about white history and are freaking out over Notre Dame, when an event that destroyed much more history got no attention whatsoever from the international community.
I rest my case.
I’m furious. Furious over the fact that I didn’t even hear about it. In fact I haven’t even heard of this museum in school or around the internet. It sounds so precious and even though the notre dame was very devastating and sad, MILLIONS of pieces of history was destroyed in this museum but not a peep about it on the news?!?!? That’s really just wack. Kids can you say colonizers.
You know what’s also horrible? This fire destroyed whole LANGUAGES. There were records of extinct indigenous languages inside this museum, and they were destroyed. This fire caused God knows how many languages to be completely lost to time.
Unfortunately, the native peoples who spoke these languages were mostly killed, meaning that when records of their languages were destroyed, their entire CULTURES were gone. Imagine that.
Not to mention the dinosaur fossils that were destroyed. The native American mummies.
The fact that so little people outside of Brazil ever heard of this fire blows my mind. I disagree with the way OP presented this because it’s not entirely white people’s fault- it’s about the media coverage.
I dont want a story where the guy is a heartbreaker and falls for one person who changes their world
What I want, is someone whose been hurt, over and over, friends and parents and that 1 special person.
And then they’ve had enough of it
So you know what happens? She starts living life, for herself. She doesn’t need anyone.
Shes got her job, books and now she doesn’t have any emotional attachments so she’s traveling and realizing there’s more then just boyfriends and girlfriends.
There’s a whole world to change, and justice to dish out, people to help and bad pple to kill.
An asexual who never knew she was, because of society’s pressure to always have someone
You can be Asexual without being Aromantic.
You can be Aromantic without being Asexual.
Asexual and Aromantic are separate terms and do not always go hand in hand.
Gay guys are not here to be your gay best friend
Lesbians don’t exist to be fetishized
Bisexuals aren’t greedy, more likely to cheat, or confused
Transgender people don’t just want attention and it isn’t a phase
Asexuals are completely valid and should be 100% accepted in the lgbt+ community
Pansexual is not the same is bi, nor is it less valid
Demisexuality is not the same as being a “regular” person. It is a valid sexuality.
Non-Binary pronouns are not hard to respect
Poly people are not gross or greedy, and deserve to be happy with their partner(s)
Happy earth day!
Tomorrow (April 22) is Earth Day. The first Earth Day was on the same date in 1970. Here is one of the posters used in 1970.
Just as true, if not more true, today as it was in 1970.
More than 80% of parents in the U.S. support the teaching of climate change. And that support crosses political divides, according to the results of an exclusive new NPR/Ipsos poll: Whether they have children or not, two-thirds of Republicans and 9 in 10 Democrats agree that the subject needs to be taught in school.
A separate poll of teachers found that they are even more supportive, in theory — 86% agree that climate change should be taught.
These polls are among the first to gauge public and teacher opinion on how climate change should be taught to the generation that in the coming years will face its intensifying consequences: children.
And yet, as millions of students around the globe participate in Earth Day events on Monday, our poll also found a disconnect. Although most states have classroom standards that at least mention human-caused climate change, most teachers aren’t actually talking about climate change in their classrooms. And fewer than half of parents have discussed the issue with their children.

Dr. Jane Goodall discusses her legacy and what we can do for the planet.
Today is earth day! Our planet is a amazingly beautiful place of life of diversity. It pains me to see how our actions have made our home worse instead of better.
But we can all do small things every day to help. We can pickup trash when we see it, eat less meat, and carpool when we can. There is often the mentality of if I can’t do everything, then why bother. You don’t need clean up the entire planet, or become vegan to make a difference. If everyone came together and did just a little bit, it would all add up to be alot :) Let’s all do our best to keep our home, planet earth, as beautiful as it can be!
