The Irish way visits UCCCC
On the 1st of February, the Irish way took a trip to Cork to hook up with UCC canoe Club. It was a good aul day, so will do the trip justice when I get through all the photos and such. Keep an eye out folks Happy paddling and stay safe! Andy

So after an unexpected, and unwanted hiatus, we finally got out to the water today.
Myself and Eugene took advantage of the rain that we've had over the last few days and headed up the road to Poll an Easa, a waterfall in Mullinavat, Co.Kilkenny.
After a quick scout of the drop to make sure it was working, we geared up and hit the water, one at a time. Not before choosing our lines though. Look from the top of the drop, several lines were there, but it all boiled down to one or two, due to a nice pushy boiler at the top that always pushed to river right.
This lead to some interesting thoughts as to how could we get past it, but seeing as Eugene was only out on the water with his new boat for the first time, and I'm carrying an injury, we decided that we'd leave that for another days adventure.
So, for the moment, enjoy the photos and keep an eye for us. With the current weather system moving in, we're hoping to get out and about next weekend with a few more of the folks.
Till then, paddle sharp and stay safe!
Peace and Gra, Andy
In the end all that matters is climbing and pushing your personal limits. No matter the grade, if you climb something that was hard for you, then that’s sick.

So yeah about that
It seems that we unexpectedly hit a snag before we even got going with this. Well, two if you wanna be technical.
First one was none of us expected that we would all be working so much since this idea came up. Me, for instance. This is only my second Sunday off since october! But thats changing soon.
And secondly, the lack of water. This has been a surprisingly dry winter in ireland, with very little good water for paddling. Though that looks to be changing as we get into spring!
There's a few of us hitting the water this morning so will try get something up later. Till then, happy paddling and stay safe!
Peace and gra! Andy
Day One: The Shenanigans Begin
What a cracker of a first day. Really felt the group got what this project is all going to be about. Having fun and trying out some stuff on rivers. Andy got there first with his post below but I whole heartedly agree that the group we have is perfect for this adventure.
What did we do I hear you ask, well we moved a tree that had the potential to block the top weir, paddled a bit (strangely enough) and we shot some footage of a bit of swimming (sorry for the multiple takes Eugene) and some running of the river. The river was a bit on the dry side so our boats may have picked up a few new scraps and scratches but it worked to clear away a few of the cobwebs for me anyway. I wont ramble on any more I'm sure one of the others could go into more detail on what we got up. Once again great day guys may there be many more.
P.S. I'm still sniggering about the cag :)
You know, I realized today as we were filming away a few things, that I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to do this with.
So here's to you guys!
File this under: dream home.
New Paddling wagon me thinks?
The Team in Action
So while we're waiting I thought I'd throw up a few pics of the some of the team in action in the past. Its a bit a timey whimey action. And when I say action there's just randomness here

Ola amigos, I'm Andy. I've been paddling 7 years at this stage, with the last 2 spend getting my instructoships in sailing, kayaking and rock climbing in Kinsale, here in Ireland. I quite enjoy having a good gaming session, mostly in halo (still waiting to get the first win over MJ, fella is slippery, even when he's not paddling) Enjoyed paddling in Slovenia and looking to head back when I can. Also rather enjoy photography and film making, hence the idea for this movie! Looking forward to seeing you out on the water!

Hey guys I’m MJ, I have been kayaking for 5 years or so now at this stage and I also am into sailing, powerboating, rock climbing, mountain biking and the fantastic sport of coasteering and of course gaming… I’m the king at halo. I have paddled a lot in Ireland and in Slovenia and most recently in the french alps.

I'm really no good at describing myself on these things so here goes. My name is Stephen or Steve, I've been paddling on and off for about 14 years. Lately its been more off then on but this project is gonna remedy that. I'm into paddling (obviously), video games, reading, rugby and I've recently taken up running and playing golf. I'm not sure what else to put into to this thing really. I enjoy things that make no sense, the absurd and random adventures. I'm sure I'll think of something incredibly witty and intelligent once I post this but for now see you on the river.
Survey 1
Who likes short shorts?
Edit: No one? Well that's disappointing.
can we do an irish version of dr throwline as a promo?
On the team we have you, me, quag, darren, danny, steve, eugene and hazel. And yes, we most certainly can do an irish version of dr throwline. And many other videos if everyone is up for it
So the team is starting to come together
Every since starting this idea a few weeks ago, the search has been on to find a team of paddlers to go and hit the rivers for this. Well I'm glad to say that the team is coming together. After last night, there is now 8 of us. And growing! Looks like we could have an epic mission on our hands!
More as it happens folks!
Andy
So this is the beginning
As the title suggests, this is the beginning of what will hopefully be a long, and successful journey into filming, editing and releasing a new irish kayaking movie.
Over the next few months, any and all of the development that appear will hopefully be put up here. This includes the intros to the team as its locked down, what the plan is, and where we're going to end up.
You'll also meet any of the guest stars who appear and go paddling with us on our, what I hope will be, an incredible and eye opening journey around out wonderful island.
Here's to an amazing journey and I'l hopefully see you all on the road!
Andy
