He doesn’t currently work, and he likes it that way. I don’t mind working. If it’s good for him, it’s good for me. As long as we can keep floating along. Plus, it gives him more time to bake random shit and nearly blow up the kitchen. What would I do if I didn’t have someone at home actively trying to be the first person to be killed by a rogue soufflé?

Listen, we sweep and mop enough for me to feel comfortable walking around in my shoes for a minute before I get changed out of work clothes. I did not pay $400 for a steam vacuum cleaner to have to take my shoes off immediately after I get home.

I think I manage to be a grownup well enough. Then again, my mother always said that I was born 35 years old.
do you have a nightly routine???
Usually I’ll make tea, read a little, and fall asleep. Whizzer starts his routine a good hour and a half before I’m even in bed, in case you were wondering.

do you wish you met him sooner before you got married?
I’d definitely change quite a bit about how we interacted in the beginning and how I treated him. I wouldn’t like a do-over, per se, but I wish I could really and truly apologize for some of the things I did. Not that I haven’t already, but it’ll never be enough.
Honestly, I wish we’d met in high school. I don’t believe in love at first sight, but I think we would’ve stayed in touch, had we met there. Then again, I was a weird teenager. Maybe not.
what’s the nicest gift marvin has ever gotten u?
it may sound stupid but, when we first started dating, we went out to dinner and I spilled wine all over this super expensive shirt I had (it was the only “nice” shirt i had; money was tight)
my birthday was a week or two after that, and marvin bought me the exact same shirt and gave it to me
it was nice — i was surprised he’d paid that much attention
I genuinely forgot about that. Now I feel a little silly. Who buys someone a shirt they already owned for their birthday? I’m glad you thought it was charming, because I’m slightly appalled.
It was a very pretty green that brought out your eyes, though, so I think that’s why I got the same one. I knew I’d never be able to pick a shirt out that would be better than anything you already picked out for yourself.

One time, he begged and begged for me to come with him to volunteer at the animal shelter, and I finally had a free day off during the week. When we got there, he started introducing me to people and taking pictures of some of the pets while I got familiar with some of the staff. They decided to show us the newest litter of kittens they’d gotten in, and Whizzer got so excited that he tripped on the step up (which was covered in yellow caution tape) that you need to take to get into the room where the kittens were held, and he went sprawling. Thankfully, his camera was okay, but Whizzer busted his knee and I had to hail a taxi to get us home.

how do I deal with a complicated lover?
Oh, gracious. Um...patience? Really, this is a question better suited for @irl-whizzer. I feel like I’ve been far more complicated than he is.
My best advice is to take your time getting to know their thoughts about what’s important to them, and pay attention to the little things. Know them. Know them well.
