Today I was paralyzed, my hands kept shanking, my brain stopped responding to signals and yet overreacted to little things. Food had no taste, coffee was bitter, sugar was just a melting feeling on my tongue. Even the tiniest light of hope for the better, rational solutions, couldn’t make a difference in the overpowering feeling of despair slowly tightening its hands on my arms, legs and chest. Right before I suffocated in these toxic fumes of thoughts a soft, warm light embraced me. She spoke words of encouragement and love, made everything more bearable. My confident, loving mother, the strongest woman I know, came to my rescue again, as she has been doing for what seems an eternity.
You know that feeling when you finish a good book with characters you felt so connected to, or better yet a whole series and once you finish you feel so empty and you can’t pick up another book right away, and of course by no means will it be as good and interesting and heart gripping as the last one. You have to wait until you stop feeling emotional about it and let it go. i think it’s a bit like the feeling after breaking up but on a smaller scale. You can no longer share life with that person, be it in a book or in reality, and you need some time to get over it. And then you pick up another book and it turns out to be just as good or even better. So hang in there, the next story is going to pull you in just as deep and you won’t feel so empty anymore
