Make everything in life about you.

make it your mission to constantly ask yourself “what can I do to make myself better today?” keep asking yourself how can I react better and what can I improve within me to be happier. 

I had to learn this the hard way. I focused way too much on how to make others see me rather than just showing up and being present. I spend too much time wondering if others can see how beautiful my soul is instead of living beautifully. I no longer care about being heard. I learned to first and foremost listen to myself, listen to what my heart is saying and making sure my brain understood what needed to be done to level up.

Focusing on self worth and self growth have been such an amazing journey. 

I can't believe I wasted so much time on the opinions of others. Phew baby.

Living..

it just occurred to me how I’ve moved on from a lot of people. Like as much as i want to be mediocre and miss connections i’ve had with people.., I don’t. I adapt very well to change and that has to be the biggest blessing and the healthiest trait i acquire. 

This season I’m embracing the crazy me and the zen me all at the same time. The let me get a drink to unwind, let me randomly praise God and enjoy the sunsets he created, go to an all acoustic concert, and travel to Europe season.

I don't want any interruptions this season. I want to simply do everything that makes me happy trusting that God wants this happiness to unfold. this is my no worries season my its ok to laugh hard in public and go on beautiful dates with you season. This season is my healing season. my take care of your mental health mara season. I want you to understand if you ask for something and i say no its nothing personal. It’s just my take care of yourself and put yourself before all things season. 

Please respect and understand 2018-2019 was my tough, learn while you cry and trust you will overcome a lot of hardships season. 

i came out my tough season a completely different person. I know exactly who i want around me and who i don't. I know exactly how to protect my peace, and that i will do expeditiously lol. 

Get to a point where you fully understand your needs. Don’t rush your process but take each hardship you face gracefully and grow. I wouldn't want to ever go through my process again but i am grateful i survived it. Good luck to you and your process.

Dear Mara,

what a freaking year babe, you held your shxt together and experienced the lost of a parent and watched doors close in your face over and over again without throwing in the towel. I know you had no idea you were so strong but i’ve always told you, you're a special one. I now need you                                                                                                                  to forget bout everything you’ve lost and understand you're about to enter a winning season.

before we embark on this new journey, theres some things I need to tell you. First and foremost i’m sorry for your lost, I know this moment’s been a really hard one for you and hurting in silence is part of who you are, so every once in a while take a day off from everyone and everything and make sure you're good. Second, Delete the numbers of everyone who knew of your pain and did nothing to make sure you didn't end it all. God gave you a clear picture of who's essential, don't play yourself again. Third embrace your light......

Dear, God

It’s kind of hard living on this earth. You must really trust that I will always choose you, to send me on a mission that you know can possibly destroy me. I know that down here mothers are constantly checking on their children because they worry so much and always want to make sure that they’re ok. I use to wonder if you have those same anxieties, but then I remember that you are God and you don’t have any worries. If you wanted to, you can literally tell me how my story ends. 

I’ve always wonder why you always talk in parables in the bible. I admire how creative you are, and must I say, your attention to detail is impeccable. I’ve never met an artist thats comparable to you. Nor have I ever met a man who’s wiser. You are literally the beginning and the end of all things. 

When did I start being so protective over you? I can’t remember when it began.. People are not allowed to say anything wrong about you around me. I’m always so conscious about everything I do in life, because I just don’t feel like I can afford to make you sad. I’ve done enough.

Words can’t describe how much I LOVE you, the crazy part about all of this is you LOVE me more. 

P.S Even the angels in heaven don’t understand why God loves us so much. That should tell you something.

“Must be nice, Can’t relate”

I wake up at 2:30am on Monday mornings and don't get to sleep until about 2am on Tuesday mornings because I’m up thinking, planing, and leading kumbaya because of people like you. 

“S” you attend kumbaya faithfully every Monday even though at this very moment life is testing your strength. I never want to remind you of your lost, but from the outside looking in you're doing such an amazing job proving to me and everyone around you that even at the lowest points in our lives God still remains faithful. You remind us that God caters to our every need and make sure we are constantly surrounded by so much love that for just one moment we’re able to breathe fresh air and smile through the hurt. Maybe we don't say it enough but you're kind of the life of the party, “must be nice, can't relate.” (lol)

(For all who are not aware Kumbaya is a fellowshipping environment that was created by the youth at CGHC International as a safe haven. It’s a place where we, the youth, are able to get together to discuss the difficulties we face on this journey towards our perfect God. We spend time reminding each other how amazingly faithful our God is. We remind each other that even when we’re in the wrong or when we push God away for the pleasures of this world He continue to show up for us. We remind each other to keep pressing forward and to never give up on God because although we don’t deserve it He’s not giving up on us.)

Why are you always to yourself?

God created Eve so Adam would not be lonely, but for some reason you think living a life being distant from everyone is best for you. I’m not saying to post your entire life on social media, because lets be real, Nobody is who they portray to be these days, but allow people to see you.. The real you.

Introduce yourself all over again the right way. You're not a selfie queen in real life ( kinda talking to myself here) and you don’t wake up on fleek... EVER. Nobody does. Show up dressed up as you and go conquer the world. 

Laugh out loud when things are funny, believe me it’s completely acceptable, I do it all the time. Get to know more people, and find yourself a best friend. Try not to get caught up thinking everyone is going to be rocking with you forever, but create memories that’s going to last a lifetime.

Don’t be so hard on yourself thinking that the only way to protect yourself from people is to push everyone away and keep completely caved in to yourself. That’s called FEAR.

Wanting to be alone is deeper than just protecting yourself, Just like a friend told me one day and I pass these wise words to you “ You’re just afraid of rejection.”

Surround yourself with beautiful people

When I say beautiful i’m not talking about people with pretty faces, or the people who rock nice clothes and live in a comfortable homes filled with unnecessary things. I’m talking about the people who have a heart of Gold. The people who loves so strongly that you’re able to see God through them and the ones who will stop at nothing to make sure you have a smile on your face. surround yourself with people who build you, not the ones who tear you apart.

“ Tell me who your friends are, and I will tell you who you are”

Don’t follow the crowed because that’s just the easiest thing to do, but create the pathways and leave footprints that will save lives one day.

Surround yourself with strong women who have mastered the word NO and the strong men who’s constantly aspiring to inspire. Try not to only be healthy physically but also spiritually and mentally. Be BOUGIE about what you feed your heart and soul. present yourself in ways that will put price tags to shame.

It always seem a little difficult to find friends who’s on the same path as you, when you’re trying to do the right things. My best answer is to start with God. I’m talking about the Guy who send His ONLY son to die on the cross to save us all from the debt of our sins. That God.

 We tend to forget so easily but he was the first to call us friend.

I’m a Christian...

I am also a habitual sinner, I lie about the smallest things at times, then constantly ask God for forgiveness knowing that I will probably lie about something small again the next day. I try not to judge others, but sometimes I fall short of fulfilling that goal, I say harsh things to others and expect people to treat me with the upmost respect. see Just like you, I constantly fall shorty of the glory of God. 

Being a christian does not mean that I’m better than you. somewhere along the roads of life you got the idea that every christian think they sit on this peddle stool that can’t be touched. You think that we believe that we are holier than thou.

DO NOT JUDGE OR YOU TOO WILL BE JUDGE, FOR IN THE SAME WAY YOU JUDEGE OTHERS, YOU WILL BE JUDGE,  AND WITH THE MEASURE YOU USE IT WILL BE MEASURED TO YOU. - Matthew 7: 1-2

Honestly you judge me more than I’ve ever judge you. I can’t speak for everyone but from my perspective I see a whole bunch of beautiful people who don’t necessarily believe in what i believe in, but are in full capacity to express the love God said that we must shared amongst each other. 

 "When I say “I’m a Christian” I don’t speak of this with pride. I’m confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide. I’m not shouting “I’m clean living” I’m whispering “I was lost, now I’m found and forgiven.” I’m not bragging of success, I’m admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.“

Dear, Jitt

You saved me from myself and you don’t even know it. I needed a little sister, I needed someone to look up to me. It was the only way God could be sure that I wasn’t going to mess up. God knew if I had somebody looking up to me I would finish college, that I would strive to be the best I could be to make sure you see that it’s possible. 

sometimes I wish I came along your journey earlier to prevent some damages, but then again I’m glad I’m here to help you see life differently. you are the most intelligent, fun, annoying, and caring jitt I know. you’re the first kid I know that has no problem bothering me for 8 hours a day like you’re getting paid to do it. LOL. What in the world would I do without you?! 

Who else would I allow to talk me into letting them drive my car like a go-cart?

From heart to heart, I don’t care how long it takes or how frustrating this world get, YOU WILL MAKE IT. I don’t care how many times you fail I will make sure you never give up. and if you dare think you’re going to accept what life throws at you and settle for less than what you deserve I will fight you.

I will go to the ends of this world for you to see you WIN. You deserve it.

“Friends” & things

so you're happy to see me win at life, but never more than you? I can be up, but never higher than you?

you have to make sure you know the ones who envy you. Not because you want to hold a grudge against them or anything, But because you have to know who will help you if life takes a horrible turn and who will hinder you. The older I get the more I realize not every body who’s around you is actually rooting for you. I’ve found that people I’d known for years were the ones who were the most eager to see me shatter.

people always think I have trust issues, but in reality I’m just naturally wise beyond my years. I’m not the type that will call you a “friend” after hanging out with you twice. Matter fact you could know me your whole life and still remain  an associate . No disrespect, but I'm just too loyal for the mess. My heart is not set up at 40% or 75%. I am unable to be half a friend and half an enemy. I can't dedicate my life to talking to you and also about you. 

At 25 years old I’ve told myself if I can't be 100% your friend, then there’s no point of being your friend. I’m not going to waste your time and I don't want to put you in a position to waste mine.

These people were the most loyalty I’ve ever felt in my life. I lost them because I stopped communicating. I was being betrayed so much by a few that I completely let go of every good thing I had. Still to this day I'm completely shameful on how I shut down on you guys. I stopped reaching out and stopped answering. I stopped being a friend. I’m sorry.

P.s You have to be woman enough to face your problems head on and apologize in the areas where you were wrong.
