Okay I finally mustered up the courage to post this😊

Puck: Prince Ash is so damned handsome.

Oberon: There’s no need to be jealous over something like that, Robin.

Puck: I’m not being jealous, Your Majesty, I’m being gay.

Au before the books. Ash and Puck don't know each other yet.

Ash, for some reason, is held captive in the Summer court. Maybe because there's a war and he was taken in battle. So now Oberon wants information out him. Ash of course, doesn't give anything. He won't say a single word.

So Oberon changes tactics, and sends Puck to the cells. Not to simply talk, he locks Puck in a cell next to Ash. Maybe even hurts him before, so Puck can tell the truth; Oberon did this to him.

Ash can't see Puck, and so can't connect the dots tbat the guy talking to him is Oberon's jester.

And so begins a slow building friendship, where Puck doea succeed in getting Ash to talk. Nothing useful (yet), but he's getting more than anyone else so far.

Puck getting dragged out of the cell every now and then for 'interrogation', aka checking in. But gotta be believable right? So better beat him up a bit, too.

Imagine the bonding. The conflicting feelings from Puck when he begins to actually like Ash. The betrayal when Ash learns who Puck is. The redemption and rebuilding of friendship...

My brain has been going haywire with ideas. I want to write a drabble about how I think sleeping with the boys would be. I have another where Puck from Iron fey is secretly mephisto. Lastly, I have one in my drafts about Sylus creating a museum just for mc. Sadly I have to be an adult and pay bills.

Imagine the gang getting captured by Virus after the whole bug thing. Obviously everyone is scared, but Ash is just fully shutting down. Because he knows what's coming and can't do that again, but also knows there's no escape.

I think When Virus has Ash in her lab she should have given him x- rays at some point.

Ash wouldn't know what she's doing and seeing the x-rays themselves would be off- putting to a fey who is not used to medical equipment. He thinks he's showing her a picture of his spine but he's not sure.

Also I just think Virus should back out of the room like every medical professional giving you an x- ray. Because It's funny to me personally.Ash is convinced something terrible is going to happened , nope just Virus valuing her safety.

Love that all the princes + Puck/Robin have gender neutral names. Like Mab was idk what they are or what they wanna be, but I'm not gonna bother with more names. Also plants👍

And I know Oberon didn't name Puck but still a fun coincidence.

Honestly good on him for getting revenge, and I do like a revenge story that just lets him have it, and also doesn't haven't a lecture on why it's bad.

On the other hand, if not for Meghan, he would've run off and got himself killed. He also got someone to shoot an arrow at Meghan and if not for her magic breakthrough, she would've died.

So... yeah revenge yay. Getting reckless about it? Bad.

Spoilers movie: Obsession

Saw Obsession the other other day, and reread the bug part in the iron daughter, as one does. Where Ash asks Meghan and Puck to kill him.

So now I'm picturing him temporarily breaking free from time to time while under Virus's control, only for a few seconds. And just instantly trying to kill himself to end all of this.

Just suddenly going from stoic and controlled to panic and instantly harming himself. But never breaking free long enough to do it.

And Virus's reaction to it, probably a bit upset because it damages her weapon even more, and it shows flaws in her bug. But also interested, because how can he do that?

I think this is my favorite moment between them, and such a fun line from Meghan. It's just so endearing.

“You were right,” he murmured, his voice nearly lost in the darkness. “I couldn’t do it alone. I should have listened to you back in Tir Na Nog. ”

 “Yes, you should have,” I whispered. “Remember that, so that next time you can just agree with whatever I say and we’ll be fine. ” 

Though he didn’t open his eyes, one corner of his mouth curled, ever so slightly. It was what I was hoping for. For a moment, the barriers had crumbled and we were all right again.

There is something precious to me that Ash, who is constantly on edge and fighting and cold, just really wants to chill and is perfectly fine with being taken care off.

It doesn't seem that way, but when he's in the dream with Meghan in the Iron Knight, it's Meghan who is concerned. She's all where are you, what are you doing, how are you here?

And Ash is just laying in her lap, getting his hair petted, and going hmmm dont care, am happy here :)

He just really wants to escape from the world and honestly, mood

Imagine if Meghan's time in the winter court dealt with much more manipulative stuff.

Like Ash is being awful, so Rowan isn't. He's actually playing his part perfectly, being all tormented winter prince and concerned, and gets closer to Meghan. But it's obviously all just a game.

Just thinking about how Mab destroyed her family hurt.

She's so awful, I love her.

Just how Ash mentions she would have him and his brothers compete for stuff, and she'd punish the loser. Just how she loved fueling their hatred for each other.

It's so painful to me because it makes me wonder if they would've gotten along if their mother wasn't so awful.

It also hurts because Rowan is seen as the villain of course, since he is. But at the same time, Mab also pushed him there. But there is zero responsibility. She instantly just tells Ash to come home because hey, Sage is dead and Rowan is dead to me, you're the heir to the throne now :)

And then Ash says no. I love how it's show that it hurts her later in the books. But how she has the audacity to keep inviting him and poking at him, as if he's change his mind. And he keeps rejecting her.

Good for him.

Like even in the Iron Prophecy, Meghan wants to leave and Mab is all 'but what does Ash think of this???' . Like what do you think? He's gonna side with his wife, not you.

(this is why I love modern au's, because they'd have to work through their shit without being able to murder each other)

Anyway I love Mab as a character and how she basically killed her family is so painful and makes Ash's relationship with her and his grief for his family so complicated.

So Virus says Rowan told her everyone was coming for the scepter. So... do you think he was there when Ash was captured, and saw what was done to him?

Glitch and Virus who are siblings, and Ash who keeps feeling a wash of fear for reasons he can't place whenever he looks at Glitch. Because he's never seen Glitch before, Glitch has never done anything bad to him, there's no reason to be so afraid—

And then Glitch offhandedly mentions "my twin, Virus" and he realizes that they have the same eyes. The same mouth. Glitch laughs when he's angry, just like Virus, and they share a vocal pattern when they talk.

A ghost of the girl who tortured him and stripped his free will away, haunting him through the halls of the Iron Realm.

(And sometimes he catches Glitch looking at him, smiling with his sister's smile, and he knows that Glitch knows exactly who killed his twin. Ash will not apologize. Glitch will not ask him to. The knowledge sits between them nonetheless.)

just had a thought that Ash in the iron realm (post getting a soul thing) should have Issues.

He mentions that he and Glitch would often solve midnight issues together.

But what if the bug Virus put in him has lasting effects now that Ash dreams again. Specially, sleep walking. Just an asleep Ash walking through the palace, but nobody really realizes anything is wrong because they dont usually talk to him anyway. He looks a bit weird but who are they to judge?

And Ash is often up anyway, so he might as well be awake, as far as random guards know.

Except Glich does see this is... weird. So he tries to wake him when he realizes Ash isn't fully there.

Que Ash who was having a dream about his body doing things without his consent waking up somewhere strange, still not fully in control, and someone who looks like Virus right there.

Now Glitch has to convince Ash's half sleeping brain that he's not his twin, with an ice sword pointed at his throat. Good luck!

I did read this series before. My opinion of Meghan hasn't changed since I was a teenager. She is boring. She thinks she's smarter than she really is.

I adore Ash and his brothers. Puck is absolutely stunning. Mab is a vision. And then there's Virus, and Shard. Shard makes me melt, fuck. Anyway, I am thrilled to be restarting this series because I never read book 4.

Or Ethan's books, or Puck's books. I love books(and Virus).

Oh my god it keeps going he's so dreamy

This is so fast. I don't buy it🤨 Cant wait for this guy to turn out to be horrible.

Also I love Kagawa's writing man. The world, and the way the characters move is just amazing. It always has such a vibe, you know?
