People do deserve things and are entitled to things and the world has measurable and observable values that can be experienced and discussed. The hardline “conservative” ideas that no one deserves anything or that “there is no free lunch” and you have to work for everything and you have no intristic value is simply a lie and a projection of negative values on reality to cover up what others are owed in order to deny them what they deserve and place undeserving characters as hero’s and martyrs who sacrificed for everything they have and you only have to deny yourself in order to obtain what they worked for. It’s just a gateway to mistreat those you are typically owe respect to.

If I was a Christian I would never not think Jesus was white because the reality of a divinely inspired reality of the reincarnation of God/Gods son through a virgin birth in a defined ancestry isn’t confined by the geopolitical realities of which we are aware about today and saying so would be insane because realistically it’s not tantamount to truth to confine the lived realities of what a divinely inspired book is telling you by the geopolitical and social realities that we can prove on paper so why then would Jesus need to be ethnically Jewish which frankly wouldn’t make any logical sense and be beyond the humblings of humanity just because the reality of him having lived as a white man would be politically unsavory though theologically and socially consistent with the reality we know since it would be fundamentally evil to make white people worship a kike.

Realistically there’s just an attempt to pigeonhole the wide array of possibilities that this divinely inspired story can occur under to what is politically savory as to upset the American Christian/White Protestant paradigm as too all powerful and all encompassing of a belief to fight by rendering it logically impossible and intellectually lacking when it is really not

Literal hundreds of thousands of people died at the bloody hands of the revolutionaries.

It was originally a peasant revolt (like many others) co-opted by bankers and merchants into something to kick out the monarchy.

There are documents left over from the French revolutionary army detailing how they were ordered to mass kill Vendeans in a manner of new ways, including gassing, burying alive, poisoning, etc.

They killed 200000 Vendeans and were about to move onto Brittany when Robespierre was killed by the Terror he created.

The French revolution remains to this day one of, if not the, most damaging event to humans in history.

One time in literature class my professor was talking about myths and Christianity and how in the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice he fails to overcome death but how in the medieval version “Sir Orfeo” the hero succeeds because now this myth was being told in a world where Death was a thing that was overcome and could be, where the King had rescued his bride; and then he started talking about the transition and difference between the pagan world and the advent of Christianity and said “in a world full of stories of gods pursuing people in wrath and lust, can you imagine how it must have been to hear of a God pursuing people in love?” And every few days I still get emotional about that

So one of my favorite books of all time is the Heliand. It is a cultural translation of the Gospels written by Frankish Monks to the Gothic pagans. They realized that the Goths weren’t getting the message of scripture because they kept getting hung up on weird details. They changed a lot of stuff, like calling cities hillforts, and turning Joseph from a Carpenter to a Warband Leader, and the Holy Ghost decending from heaven from a dove to a crow. But one of the more interesting aspects is that they repeatedly hammer home over and over again Jesus overcoming Fate. To the Germanic pagans, all men were bound by Fate. None could defy it at all, and the ultimate fate of every man was Death. This was a central belief to them. So that turned into a HUGE message in the Heliand. the first time is Mary and Joseph fleeing from Herod with Baby Jesus. They viewed that as him defying his fated death for the first time. There are a handful of other instances, but it builds and builds until he actually is killed, and all is lost. This GodMan who defied Fate since his birth, and was sent as our new war leader who will ever bring us victory, was murdered. All hope is gone. But no, he defied his fate one last time and arose from the dead! This is miracle of miracles! This is unbelievable! Death, the Great End, the fate that all men and even gods eventually find themselves at could not hold him for more than three short days.

It was this message that converted the pagans. This idea of overcoming that which was unavoidable by all, and being offered the same gift.

Also, the Heliand is a song and I desperately want to hear it sung.

Objectively, they lied. Joseph wasn’t a warrior. They would have considered him a karl, a free land owner at best. Jesus didn’t defy Fate either. Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will”. Any Germanic warrior would recognize this as Jesus accepting his Wyrd. His fate was to die, and he faced it with courage. But meekly going to his death, healing his enemies, and forgiving his murderers wouldn’t have sat as well with them, so of course the story gets changed. If you have to change the message to convert people, maybe it’s a bad message.

It’s frustrating too, because any IE descendant culture would have recognized the sacred sacrifice as an act of creation and cosmic Order. Gods have died and been reborn in other cultures. Hell, people escape the underworld in other Greek myths. Osiris dies and is reborn, Yemo* is sacrificed to create the world, in both cases they become lord of the underworld, ruling over the dead. Even Odin passed through a kind of death, hung on the world tree so his soul could pass into the underworld and understand the forces that power the universe. These are not unknown concepts.
