About Iron Saga and this blog
Metal Slug
This machine was designed by one of the governors off the Freedom States who loved heavy mecha. The driving principle behind the design is simple: more firepower.
Despite the official art referring to this as "Metal Warhead" the mech is titled "Metal Slug" in game.
Agares
LM-02-Agares is an ancient mecha equipped with powerful artillery weapons. To battle this mecha is a losing game.
Lycoris
Lycoris, a name lost to time known only to those of ancient noble birthright.
Lycoris resembles the Grand God of Amaterasu, the legendary entity in Hinomaru's past. A dance of strings and petals obliterates those at a distance, while up close the Temptation of Nirvana erases any who dare get too close.
Rakshasa/Heavy Armored Rakshasa
Rakshasa: After the Purification War, Qujra became aware its weapons technology had become obsolete. In order to close the arms gap, they began to jointly develop several new BMs with the cooperation of neighboring countries. Among the new mechas, the Rakshasa stood out as one of the best designs to come from the project.
Heavy Armored Rakshasa: The enhanced version of Rakshasa, it sacrifices mobility for greater firepower and armor. Since its debut, its impressive performance has been notable especially in small-scale conflicts.
Teutonic
This simple mecha has a well-balanced firing range and solid armor, and can always make the gimmicky enemies suffer.
Silver Fox
With the massive popularity of the Lynx series, General Power began development on its successor. This new mecha received praise both domestic and abroad, noted for its striking design and outstanding performance in a variety of environments.
Lynx Series
Lynx: A general purpose mecha developed General Power in the company's early years. Despite its rough design, it still put tanks and other vehicles through hell in the days when mecha technology was still a new field.
Lynx Assault Type: The assault-type is used for breaking through the frontlines. During the 1st New World War, they dealt devastating blows to the Empire's missile corps.
Lynx Support Type: Due to losing profit from the Lynx's production, General Power decided to discontinue the production of the Lynx series. However, the veteran pilots formed a Lynx fanclub, announcing that they want to continue the production of this mecha.
FOXHOUND (Becas): A Lynx that was personally modified by Becas in his early days as a pilot, it is equipped with wheels and thrusters for improved mobility. He also upgraded the armor on the mech's hands for better grappling and close-quarters combat.
The most prominent upgrade, however, is the pair of photon cannons mounted to its back. They are notably oversized for the mech, exceeding both its power and cooling capacity when used. Through much trial and error, however, Becas has been able to master their use, making them a trump card even when battles don't go in his favor.
Hellcat/Hellcat Support Type
Hellcat: Derived from the Lynx, this model has excellent battlefield capabilities and is often equipped by the guerrilla forces of the Freedom States.
Hellcat Support Type: A powerful mecha known as the "A-class Fighter". Its popularity has provided substantial start-up funds for the invention of the Ranger series.
Liselotte MK5
"These parts from all our bounties are really strong, but they're weird too," a Noisy Bat member said as she rummaged through the group's overcrowded storage. "Even if we try to sell them on the black market I don't think anyone will buy them."
"Don't worry, I have an idea," the glorious leader of the Noisy Bats declared while drawing on a paper with a crayon.
Vassago
A mysterious mecha of unknown origin, it is unlike any machine currently in existence. Both its pilot, Becas, and owner, Dr. Aoi, are enigmatic people in their own rights, shrouded in mystery and intrigue.
It can be transformed into other forms in the Superalloy Research Institute and cannot be disassembled.
Vassago Variants
Below are the eight modifications Vassago can receive. They have no unique key art.
Vassago G
An experimental replica of Vassago. In order to combat Baal, it possesses costly gold armor plating. Its form can be modified at military research black sites, but it cannot be disassembled.

High Mobility Dagger Type
The high mobility-type Dagger has an extremely high evasion ability, allowing it to move freely in battle.
Liselotte MK4
After her precious mech had disappeared for three days Liselotte was prepared to surrender and go to the police for help. But just as she was about to give in, a mysterious box wrapped with a pink ribbon appeared before her containing her beloved, now upgraded, machine. With a more robust shock absorption system and a variable munitions loader the mech was almost exactly what Liselotte had dreamed it would become. As she ran around Noisy Bat HQ declaring it to be a miracle a certain blonde-haired idol couldn't help but smile at seeing her friend's excitement.
Bee-Eater
The mass-production version of the Night Bird. The updated design inherited its predecessor's lightweight and durable features while reducing manufacturing costs.
Night Bird
This is an ultralight attack helicopter designed by Takahashi Jyuukou. With a light and solid structure, it can execute a short distance autorotation slide under special circumstances when its engine is shut down.
