But d-addict team has picked the series up. They have released the sub up to ep. 3 (out of 11). I feel so tempted to skip straight to ep. 5 (in which Harumaās character debut).
I donāt know what to say. These days, Iām kinda busy and havenāt paid attention to Haruās news as usual. So this post as another congratulation might be late. But still...
Anyway, Iām very delighted to tell you that Miura Haruma has won the Best Actor Award AND the special Rookie of the Year (Sugimura Haruko Award) in the 24th Yomiuri Theater Award for the role of Lola (Kinky Boots).
The ceremony will be held on February 27th.Ā
2016 - What a year for Haruma. He seemedĀ āquietā in generalĀ āpublicā eyes (perhaps the only thing got him on first page is his dating story), yet he gained so much career experience.Ā
That being said, 2017 will be a challenging year (as he has said). As a long time fan, I will support whatever choices he makes, no matter howĀ ābizarreā it is.Ā
Miura Haruma won the Male Category of the 28th Japan Best Jewelry Wearer Award
This kind of award sounds unnecessary but itās actually a big event. Letās just say that the winners were there to promote the āInternational Jewelry Exhibitionā which was held every year in Tokyo.
Haruma also shared an interesting fact,Ā āI got a necklace given by my close friend. I wear it as a lucky charm.ā
Hmmm... who is that friend? Canāt you show us the necklace?
Do you know if Onna Joshu Naotora is the sort of thing that is likely to get English-subbed and available for download or streaming?
You know, itās a taiga drama. In case you donāt know, taiga is a historical drama that airs on NHK (almost) every Sunday for a year, which is hella long. So it will take time and patience to sub the whole thing.
So far, I havenāt heard anyone planning to sub it. But Iām pretty sure it will get subbed eventually (letās hope so). Just be prepare for the irregular schedule!
If you want to watch the raw, itās quite easy. Just search it by the original title in Japanese on any Chinese video site (bilibili, tudou, youku, .etc,). Itāll be uploaded very soon on those sites.

āNow that Iāve become an adult. It has been a while since the last time I starred in a taiga drama. This time, I attended a horse riding club and learned archery from the scratch to prepare for various scenes. Because I had such a proper preparation period for this role, I could enter the scene with confidence.ā
āThat was when I was in 5th or 6th grade. I just felt I really have to give it to my best. Taiga staff at that time was all nice people.Ā
One of the member in the costume crew at that time has now become the chief staff in this project. He told me āI used to pat on your head, lead you to the scene by your hand all the time.ā I was honestly glad I could return to taiga once again after growing up.ā
He wants to achieve even further development especially in acting.
āThe experience from acting in projects related to Japanese culture and history has become my ultimate strength. I was given a very good opportunity and was meticulously taught various things by gestural instructors at the scene. Step by step, itās interesting. From now on no matter what kinds of historical drama Iām going to do in the future, Iām sure that I could deliver it.
As for my private life, Iām starting to become interested in Bushido. Things like dealing with others with compassion or how to live a private lifeā¦
As a person, Iām still immature, but since Iām in this industry, I have to and I will definitely pay respect to that kind of propriety. Sometimes, because people give me a great applause or other good comments, I may feel disconcerted. At those times, I donāt want to become arrogant but keep my feet on the ground.ā

Beside Miura, this taiga drama is packed with young actors who are gaining much attention such as Yagira Yuya and Suda Masaki.
āYagira-san was my senior at high school. I had met him in person at school. Itās a shame that we did not share any scene together, but itās elated to think that we engaged in the same project.
Suda-kun used to play the role of my student in another work before. This time, his role is my son. When the time for his role comes, itās my role that ends. If I got the chance, Iād like to tell him āDo your bestāā.

This time, Miura played a man growing up to be strong in order to protect the Ii family. When he was asked how to keep a lean body,
āBefore I engaged in this project, I got to play in a musical called Kinky Boots. Because it was the role of a muscled drag queen, I simply kept myself that way. It was just right timing.ā (smile)
Looking back on 2016, how was that a year to you?
āIt seems just a role of drag queen but itās actually a result of all luck combined that I get to choose a project that I am passionate about and really want to do.
That being said, Iām not sure that can be defined as a true challenge for myself or not. For 2017, I want to make it a challenging year.ā

The last taiga I watched from start to finish is Atsuhime, which was like 5 or 6 years ago. As much as I love Japanese history, following a taiga can be quite tiresome because of various reasons (itās super long, few people want to sub it, or worse no sub at all, too many characters, bias character died, plot can be VERY draggy blah blah blah)
But Iāll try to follow this one ^^ at least until Naochika-Haruma died, hopefully...
