overall phlebotomy has been suuuch a fun experience and just about everybody i've had in my chair has been so eager to be a guinea pig for me LMFAO. i'm glad i went semi-rural for my placement because they're sooo nice and a lot of them are CHATTY as can be it makes the anxiety like ten times better. one older woman today like... peer pressured me into taking her blood😭 she was also on blood thinners and had a somewhat delicate vein that was difficult to get a good angle on so i was going to pass it off to my preceptor but she was like TRY!!!!! and i can't say no to a nice old lady

i finished my 50 successful draws today BUT i've still had such bad luck with people! everybody has been very nice/polite/etc but just a lottt of people with deep veins or not drinking any water... this morning i made my first patient spurt blood all freaking over me. he was a regular on blood thinners and had a very big very surface level vein so any tiny movement was a gamble.... he was very nice about it though he did not care at all that i just splashed his blood everywhere. it was alllll over my glove and the chair but none got on him LOL. i thought i was fine but i had a giant splatter on my white underscrub shirt and some droplets on my shoes😭 such a nice guy he found it all hilarious

i think my "problem" with the online BDSM community at large is that a not-insignificant portion of them radiate the same strange energy as the kids who would form "wolf packs" in middle/high school and have their own social hierarchies and roles and whatever. i would argue that a lot of them jumped straight from that to having looney tunes sex if i were to be totally honest. anyway they just take it way too seriously in a way that makes me physically wince whenever i have to bear witness to it. "problem" in quotations here because this is just me being an absolute cunt and i think everybody should have all the looney tunes sex they want. but i'm going to laugh whenever i come across like a Sub Collaring Ceremony because that is corny shit that belongs in an unsupervised maladjusted teenager's omegaverse wattpad fanfiction about minecraft youtubers or something. sorry
