‘I want to go camping’ was a scary thing to hear when you knew absolutely nothing about it. Rather, it was scary for you, who just so happened to be perhaps the most overbearing mother since “overbearing” was conceived as a word.
But that’s why you’re here now. And why you’ve opted to try and speak with the children, too, since their opinion mattered more to you than anything the adults said. Maybe not your best idea for kids who aren’t totally aware of monsters yet, but–

And wasn’t there something about people of some kind coming to the surface a while back? He honestly couldn’t be bothered to remember. Still, while he usually would give a snarky remark...
