Juliet raised an eyebrow, hiding her genuine amusement with a blank, clueless expression. “I’m taking it as serious as serious can be, sweetheart. But i’m afraid I don’t, you see, you definitely wouldn’t suit the halo.” Her facade faded, however, when he spoke about her doubtfulness. “Oh, I don’t doubt you. I think you’ll put up a good fight, for sure, but i’m stronger.” She nudged him, smirking. But when he froze, her cheerfulness dropped, and was replaced by pure worry. The girl hated making him feel like this, making him talk about things he was clearly unable to. It wasn’t as though she blamed him, but rather herself for even bringing it up. Her hand raised to his cheek, cupping it as she listened, and her eyes were full of sympathy. “Hey, hey. It’s okay. I know.” Where Isaac couldn’t explain it, Juliet knew what he felt. She knew what it was, what he wanted to say, but just wasn’t able to, or what he couldn’t see. I never want to be without you. The words ran through her mind, and she tried to hide how surprised she was to hear him say it. J hadn’t even considered he was as infatuated as she was. She’d wished, sure, but didn’t really think it to be true, originally. Her hand dropped, moving to her knee where she drummed her fingers nervously. “You do put up with me, though. Sure, you choose to do so, but I think i’m fairly problematic and endlessly frustrating.” It was only partially a joke, because while the girl was self confident in many aspects – her upper appearance, her charm, the ability to get those to like her – it was things like relationships she got quite worried in. “I think I could handle it.” It was more a challenge than anything, a small smirk on her face as she dared him. “Only one on earth? I’d say that was a bit of an exaggeration.” It was different, him complimenting her, making sure she knew how adored she was. As he squeezed her hand, the blonde ran her thumb along his, watching their fingers closely, content with something to focus on. “That’s okay, though. We all believe what we believe. It can hardly be helped. And if you think i’m closest thing you can get to fulfillment, i’m very flattered.” Feeling his hand near her neck, by the necklace, made her raise an eyebrow, gazing at him fondly whilst he was so focused on the beads. “You know I like the Plato version of the story — of the soulmates. I think…if it were true, you would be considered my other half. He says that when they meet again they will feel unified, and find no greater joy than with each other. I think we have that.” Her words were said quietly, and if anything, slightly nervously. Her gaze softened as she looked into his eyes, the moment bringing her the nicest sensation of peace. ”What else would you like me to say? I can hardly give you an insightful comment on the matter. Things that shouldn’t be are, as you said. And that’s wonderful.”
