We probably should have written something at the end of our trip but we forgot. We got back the UK mid November and still have a pile of negatives that need to be scanned which is disgraceful, but we have been busy and don’t own a scanner. Watch this space for old photos and new adventures.
Amsterdam. Beautiful place, we had a pretty nice time wandering around it for a couple of days.
Custom clogs.
Back in The Netherlands. This is a nightmare country to try and find a good spot for the van. Nowhere is far away or hidden from anything, the landscape just goes on and on with the odd copse of trees or a sad lonely house. There are little canals all over the place too that box in the fields and little woods and stop us from getting into them.
At the start of our trip we were using a lot of a campsite showers, they usually cost a euro or something and are quick and easy. Now that it's November almost all the campsites are closed, locked up, no one home mate.
This one actually felt a bit abandoned/creepy. There were crows and a barking dog and the wind was having a good old howl.

We have had some pretty decent weather on our trip and have definitely seen more sun than rain. While we were driving through northern France and Belgium the rain that hadn't fallen, all fell at once.

Winter appears.
Autumn has suddenly appeared. Having been so close to the coast for quite a while we had kinda missed the seasonal change, but the further north we come the more orange it gets.
This is Ian & Fleur with their cat Pussum. We met them on the side of the road nearish Grenoble, seeing English plates on their camper I started chatting. They were on their way back from Italy where they had been watching their grandson in a kickboxing competition. Turns out they live in Cawsand and know some friends of mine down there, small old world.
We have talked about how rad it would be to have a van cat, but we have never actually seen one before. Pussum was great, and for security he had an extendable lead to keep him close. Despite the lead he apparently likes to wander off on trips, and he once got lost at Glastonbury. He reappeared a couple of days later though, bet he's got some mad stories about what he got up to, if only he could talk.
